Sneaking up on unsuspecting aircraft... I do be having serious Growling Sidewinder Flashbacks.

The MK1 eyeball has a quite variable production run. 20/20 is merely described as the average performance of the MK1 eyeball's performance at 20'. It is not uncommon for MK1 eyeballs to be able to resolve at 30' what the average MK1 will resolve at 20'.
If the Houthis had selected for pilots equipped with superior 40/20 MK1 eyeballs and the F22 pilot was flying with inferior 15/20 MK1 eyeballs (presumably under a medical waiver), the Houthis could be operating with a considerable detection range advantage in this scenario.
Given that the Houthis have so few fighter jet, with such crummy radar, they would probably be doing eye tests to select for individuals with superior MK1 eyeballs.

It was cool theory! And proof of what happened with the Iranian Air force in the Phantom F-4 I believe. I think they also came across his Comms and told him "He Oughta go Home"! I believe the F-22 Pilots flew right up under his Jet to check out what Stores he had onboard, then backed off and called out to him, them. I don't remember if it was a flight of two or just one, I think a flight of Two. They checked out! I'm sure the Raptors would've had them downed within 5-15 Seconds! I don't even think they would have to move to fire at them even after they took evasive action. You guys would know better with those Helmet Mounted Display Systems. Yeah it was a flight of 2x F-4 Phantom IIs. Only one Raptor, as far as Im aware.
The Raptor had been shadowing the flight for several km, taking note of every piece of pylon-mounted ordinance on the two planes (a pair of wvraams and I believe a pair of rocket pods on each airframe). The Raptor pilot then went on an open channel and told the F-4 pilots, “you two should go home” as he maneuvered into formation with the two Iranian aircraft, which, after a few seconds of likely confusion, spotting the Raptor, and then panicking, would break off and withdraw.

Loved the video @grimreapers! Can't wait for the next video man! Next time, could you try flying Eurofighter Typhoons of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Against Houthi/Yemeni F-5's? It might prove a bit more Interesting as the Typhoons are still larger than the F-5.
Size Comparison of the F-22 Raptor, Eurofighter Typhoon and the F-5E Tiger II.
    Northrop F-5E Tiger II:
    • Length: 48 ft. 2.25 in. (14.826 Meters).
    • Wingspan: 26 ft. 8 in. (8.205 Meters), 27 ft. 11.875 in. (8.612 Meters) with wingtip missiles.
    • Height: 13 ft. 4.5 in. (4.115 Meters).
    Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor:
    • Length: 62 ft. 1 in. (19.102 Meters).
    • Wingspan: 44 ft. 6 in. (13.692 Meters).
    • Height: 16 ft. 8 in. (5.128 Meters).
    Eurofighter Typhoon:
    • Length: 52 ft. 4 in. (16.102 Meters).
    • Wingspan: 35 ft. 11 in. (11.051 Meters).
    • Height: 17 ft. 4 in. (5.333 Meters).
So of the three Aircraft here, the F-5E is the Smallest and the F-22 is the Largest, Although the Typhoon is the Tallest.
As I mentioned in the Hercules vs Chinese Destroyers video a few days ago, I have the Reinforcement Fleet for "Operation Shoestring II" on the Island of Cyprus. I should preface this with the fact that Fletcher-class Destroyer USS Taylor (DD-468) is not part of the Fleet, it was an error on my part while trying to Remember what ships I had chosen for this without having to go back to @Camodo Gaming's channel.
    • Cleveland-class Light Cruiser USS Columbia (CL-56).
    • Allen M. Sumner-class Destroyer USS Laffey (DD-724).
    • Fletcher-class Destroyers USS Cassin Young (DD-793) and USS Kidd (DD-661).
    • Bayfield-class Attack Transport Ship USS Cambria (APA-36) (Transporting More Troops for the Forces on Donkk (Cyprus) for the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
    • Landing Ship Tank Mark 2 (LST(2)) LST-1-subclass LST-393 (Carrying more Vehicles and Equipment for the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
    • Cimarron-class Fleet Oiler USS Neosho (AO-23) (Carrying Fuel Oil for the Ships of the Fleet).
    • Liberty Ship Tanker Configuration SS Alan Seeger (Carrying Fuel for the Vehicles and Equipment on Donkk (Cyprus) for the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
    • Liberty Ship Boxed Aircraft Transport Configuration SS Albert M. Boe (Now the Star of Kodiak in Alaska) (Carrying P-38J Lighting Fighter-Bombers, A-20G Havoc Medium Bombers and PBY-5A Catalina Flying Boats for Operations from Dreimor Airstrip (Paphos Airport) in support of the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
    • Crater-class Cargo Ship USS Mintaka (AK-95) (Carrying Supplies for the Forces on Donkk (Cyprus) for the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
    • Crater-class Cargo Ship USS Lynx (AK-100) (Carrying a Landing Craft Tank Mark 6 (LCT 6) to help unload LST-393 by Terminal Spycakes and Driemor Airstrip (Port Limassol and Paphos Airport) as well as Supplies for the Drive East Towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
    • Crater-class Cargo Ship USS Crater (AK-70) (Carrying Supplies for the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta)).
This part of the Forces for the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta) will have the following plan.
    • The USS Columbia (CL-56), USS Laffey (DD-724), USS Cassin Young (DD-793) and USS Kidd (DD-661) will escort the Fleet over to the Island of Donkk (Cyprus) where the Transports can unload in the Area of Terminal Spycakes (Port Limassol). Once they reach the area, they can Join the USS Cleveland (CL-55) in Providing Naval Gunfire Support for the Troops and Equipment as they make the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta). They can Top off their Fuel Stores will The USS Neosho (AO-23) and their Ammunition Stores with either USS Murzim (AK-94) or USS Mintaka (AK-95) if need be.
The USS Lynx (AK-100) will lower each of the LCT 6's 3 Sections into the Water as they're assembled like an oversized model kit. Once the LCT 6 is put together, it can help with Unloading the USS LST-393 by acting as a Floating Bridge. This will mean that the LST-393 will have to open it's Clamshell Doors and allow the LCT 6 to moor/tie itself to the LST-393 and the Tanks and Vehicles can just go down the LST's Bow Ramp and the LCT's Stern Gate, Across the LCT and down the LCT's Bow Ramp and onto the Beach so they can get to the Frontlines.
    • The Albert M. Boe will deliver the Lockheed P-38J Lighting Fighter-Bombers, Douglas A-20G Havoc Medium Bombers and Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina Flying Boats in Crates to Terminal Spycakes (Port Limassol) for Dreimor Airstrip (Paphos Airport). Once they've been Put together like Model Kits, they can Provide Air Support for the Troops and Equipment as they make the Drive East towards Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta).
    • The Neosho is a Fleet Oiler, meaning she can Refuel the Ships of the Fleet if need be.
    • The Bayfield-class Attack Transport Ships Carry Troops and some of the Equipment for the Amphibious Assault. They Carry up to 80 Officers and 1,146 Enlisted Troops and had a Crew of 51 Officers and 524 Enlisted. Most ships were Armed with 2 Single 5"/38 Caliber Guns, 2 to 4 Twin Mount and 2 Single Mount 40 millimeter Bofors Anti-Aircraft Guns and 18 Single Mount 20 millimeter Oerlikon Anti-Aircraft Guns. They had 12 LCVP's each able to carry 36 Fully Understand Troops or 8,100 pounds of General Cargo, 4 LCM 3's Each able to Carry 60 Fully Equipped Troops, 60,000 pounds of Cargo or a 30-ton Tank like the M4A3(Late) Sherman Medium Tanks in the Operation as well as 3 LCP(L)'s that can Also Carry 36 Fully Equipped Troops or 6,700 to 8,100 pounds of Cargo.
    • The Crater-class Cargo Ships are Just Normal, Cargo Carrying Liberty Ships in Navy Service. The Navy also had Liberty Ships in Tanker Configuration in service which were known as the Armadillo-class Tankers.
Once Terminal Camodo (Port Famagusta) has been Captured by the Player Base, The Cargo Ships can make cargo runs between Camodo (Famagusta) and Terminal Spycakes (Port of Limassol) with the Occasional Cargo run to the Arctic and back.
Let me know what you guys think about this and I'll catch you in your next video! I'll have the Beaches for the Initial Landings and the Set-up for this Campaign in DCS ready for you by then, just be ready to look at Cyprus in Google Maps for References.

That was a very fun looking mission. It was also a throw back ti the old GR DCS science videos. It's good to see field of view is fairly well modeled in the game. Another throw back was almost when someone said "you wack disawinn". Next would've been something about Cap's Vietnamese girlfriend. Then it'd be double demonitized.

I have a possible video suggestion: a naval/air battle (America v china?) in like the heaviest possible winds (while able to launch aircraft). I wonder how it would affect things like LRASMs or other low-altitude missiles.

Hey Grim Reapers i been watching your vids for a while and i love your scenarios as they add a bit of realism... Here is a scenario i would like to put forth...Can 2x F-22's cover a bomber wing of 5x F-35A's (JSF) under fire from the Iranian Airforce with F-5, F-4, F-14, and MIG-29s, successfully cover and bomb the main Iranian Airforce base. Modifiers are 24x F-14s active, 22x F-4 on emergency Launch when enemy sighted, 16x F-5 on patrol, and 15x MIG-29 in Active flight. Player controlled vehicles are F-22 and F-35s, loss of both F-22s will result in emergency fighter launch from carrier group nearby of 4x F/A-18 Super Hornets or 2x F-35C's, loss of more than 2x F-35A's will result in mission failure. Successful Victory conditions are total wipe of enemy aircraft or the successful bombing of the airfield and exfill past off shore carrier group. Additional Support could include a fuel tanker and AWACS. Also F-35A's are allowed to mount no more than 2x AMRAAM's and must reserve the rest of ordinance for GBU's.
