So far I am replacing the tuners, the nut, I've rolled the fret ends and the fretboard to make it more comfortable. Then I polished the frets to a mirror shine. Love that Shingle Pedal Board! Genius! 🙌🏼💙🤘🏼 I also like the Quarter Trick, but my personal hack is to bend the extra string back and forth several times against the hole of the tuning peg, back and forth, until it creates a soft point in the metal and it snaps. Leaves a very clean brake and usually is just inside the hole so there is very little chance of getting snagged on the sharp ends when I do it right. I also allow for about 3 or 4 coils on the peg so the string won't slip out, but I have never had one come out in all my 30+ years of playing. Just a way that has worked for me. 🙏🏼💙🤘🏼

TomoFujitaMusic Tomo, I'm from Boston. Hey, maybe you know this answer... Across the street from Berklee Proformance Center (Mass Ave.), there's an alleyway (Public Alley 909) that has/had a small recording studio there. 20 yrs ago, I recorded a 6 song EP there. Do you know the name of this place? If it's even still there. I forget the name. Anyway, I absolutely love your content. You're funny, knowledgeable, and so laid back. I'm sure your students love you. I wish I was one of them. Cheers!
Hi Tomo, best budget beginner multi pedal is in my humble opinion the MOOER GE 100. You can find them at AliExpress for an average 75 dollar. It has like 50 inbuild sounds with inbuild wah and volume pedal, a metronome , tuner , scale and chord library, a drum machine and even a 3 minute looper ! It even works on batteries if you want and is small and light ! Really a no brainer for a beginner student. Greets from Belgium ! Thanks for being such a great person !

Best things to do start with basic tools and soldering iron .Then make your own cords great way to learn how to solder. Buy a cheap volt ohm meter for troubleshooting.Once your good at making cables then move to guitars. I build all my cables I use Mogami cable and Neutric plugs .For about 35 dollars you can have what Mogami sells for 110.00. Plus you now know how to troubleshoot and repair if your a working musician you will have failures.
I have that same telecaster (black with white pick guard, but black painted head stock). It is a great guitar for the money. I had a MIM Tele, but the Squier was better especially the neck. Thanks for the setup tips.
I have a squier tele custom II, bought it 2010, was waiting almost a year for a lower price and finally get it online (not in amazon) for 250€/ 250$....a full powerhouse of tone and crunchiness!!!! Your bullet sounds really well and looks very comfortable to play. Thanks for your tips, very interesting!!!
I run a zoom effects 3 to a gorilla amp with my Ibanez dt-555 triple😝. Thankyou, It's great to hear these little tricks to improve intonation. It makes me feel like going out and buying one of those and doing all those things to it.
Thanks appreciate the video I saw the last one and decided to order the same guitar. Surf green bullet Tele for $119.00 brand new! I figured it's something to mess around with and maybe upgrade. Looking forward to more lessons. Thanks again.

Thank you for the intonation tip! That microphonic pickup would be easy to repot with some candle wax on your stove. One thing I do with all of my cheaper squiers is file down the bottom of the grub screws in the saddles so they don't dig into my hand when I'm picking near the bridge. After I've set the relief, action, and nut height, I take one out and with the allen key still in, grind the bottom, so that when it goes back in the saddle to level it, it's flush and not sticking out. Shorter replacement grub screw sets are like $5 shipped, but sanding/filing/grinding is free lol.

If you haven't tried it, I REALLY suggest you give the MusicNomad F-ONE Oil Fretboard Cleaner & Conditioner a go. A guitar tech friend of mine suggested it to me. Use the #0000 to clean the board with it and rub it in, use a super light touch, just enough to spread and saturate the oil), then let it sit 5 minutes then collect excess with a rag. It'll give the board a really nice color. I used to use the Lemon oil allot and always found it disappointing but that stuff I mentioned legit works like a charm and keep a nice dark look to it. I'm loving these videos though. Stuff gets me excited, especially seeing you get so happy! Positive energy!

He put in the freezer and still did not work. He opened it up and someone forgot to solder a wire. Even when you spend $$$$, you can still get electronics that were not installed properly. I would be interested to see you compare phaser pedals in the $25-$50 price range.

Subcribed! You are so positive and have a great way of teaching the basic things people learning guitar need to learn. Learning to do things on your own, basic setup and things like making your own pedal board can save you money. Learning how a guitar actually works is as important as learning how to play it. As for suggestions on affordable pedals, have you tried Azor pedals? Usually around 20-25 dollars depends on where you get them. The noise gate pedal they make is great for just taking the ground hum out of any basic rig. Even if it's the only pedal you have it will cut out that annoying hum and buzz from pickups or ground hum. I say that knowing a lot of budget guitars and amps have micro phonic noise. It just comes with the territory on basic affordable rigs. I have several Azor pedals and they work well for budget pedal boards. Rock On !!

Awesome!! Thank you!!
Nice. Frets don't sound gritty anymore. Little bit of love goes a long way.

That pencil on the nut tip was so awesome!
Old trick!!
I have that same telecaster (black with white pick guard, but black painted head stock). It is a great guitar for the money. I had a MIM Tele, but the Squier was better especially the neck. Thanks for the setup tips.
Awesome! You're welcome!
I have a squier tele custom II, bought it 2010, was waiting almost a year for a lower price and finally get it online (not in amazon) for 250€/ 250$....a full powerhouse of tone and crunchiness!!!! Your bullet sounds really well and looks very comfortable to play. Thanks for your tips, very interesting!!!

saddle height to radius tricks also please? Thanks
Oh what a great teacher!
Tomo I am nearing 60 been playing since I was 10 and still you taught me so much in 10 minutes! Some tricks I knew but that's okay. Just for fun I bought a Yamaha pacifica middle road instrument which on arrival I had to go to work! Frets round off, then adjust the neck ever so slightly then the bridge. It's a Wilkinson bridge but it needed work. New strings tuning and intonation.
But, you taught me great ideas for pick up height.
And hey great playing! It would be an honor to play together. Many thanks from downunder.

You're welcome! Thanks so much!

Love squires. Amazing value and surprisingly great playing, reliable.
My showmaster came with floating Floyd rose tremolo never goes out of tune no matter how much abuse (extreme bending n popping in motorbike gauntlets) It takes

Yes Bro. My 1st strat was a squier bullet. So I figured quit early that everything to better a guitar I can do myself. So my second and main guitar became a parts caster. I did everything myself in and on it. Thanks for incorrage the youth them and everybody Not to fear cheap guitar. They are really good. And if One needs a custom guitar, just build uP a partscaster and enjoy for way less then build at factory. And the the big plus point is it will have All your specs perfect done coz you did it yourself. My fav budget pedal is a VOX stomp lab. That pedal is hammer! Greetings and Thank you. Tom.

Love your videos!!! Electronics can be a finicky thing. I remember hearing the story of John Mayer’s black custom shop guitar, got it home and it didn’t work.

Rock On !!
