    really great, well done.
    It is possible to make your way without camp mat, camping tent, pan and jetboil
    I mean sleeping every night on a mattress and under a roof (even very rustic). And buying food without getting too far from the route

    Amazing journey, guys! Short Q: how possible to buys food in small villages? How autonomous you should be in terms of food 2-3 days?

    • @peterschilling4416
      @peterschilling4416  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alexander, you can buy simple food in most villages and at least every second day. Along the main routes you will find basic (tent-) restaurants for tea and rice or noodle soups. In general, Ladakh is easy to travel in terms of food - much easier than Kirgistan:)

    Hi Peter....thanks for the excellent video. I have some questions if thats ok....What's the approximate weight of your luggage? What are the stretches where there's no water along the way? During which month were you here? Thanks

    • @peterschilling4416
      @peterschilling4416  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, we cycled in August and the weight of our luggage was about 13kg each without food and water. There are some stretches of around 50km without possibilities to refill water, especially when crossing high passes. But generally water is no problem as there are frequent settlements or little tea shops and tent restaurants along the route where you can get basic supplies and water. If you plan ahead a bit and always carry some extra water, you will be fine.

    Hi, I am planning a solo trip to leh via spiti on my bicycle. But after seeing your video I am really scared of my bike breaking down, especially the parts that are not that vulnerable but the availability is very difficult in like Spiti or Ladakh.. Any tips/suggestions regarding that?

    • @peterschilling4416
      @peterschilling4416  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, don't worry too much. We brought 20-year-old steel frame bikes with us. Usually they are perfect for rough conditions, but that time we were a bit unlucky. If you use a type of bike that's readily available in India you won't have troubles finding parts in Manali or Leh. But make sure you get good racks. They are the first thing that breaks on those bumpy roads if they're poor quality. Have a great ride, it's an absolutely amazing area for cycling and people are so nice. There will always be help should you have a problem.

      Hi Karan Singh, the piece of music is called Elm Lake, the artist's name is also Elm Lake. I've got the song from Epidemic Sounds, but you can also find it on TH-cam. And to your second question: We're from Germany - and sad that the Indian Himalayas aren't an option at the moment...

      @@peterschilling4416 Thanks bro, Yeah I have done Manali-Leh-Khardungla last year and it was amazing. This time I wanted to explore the route from Spiti but unfortunately, this pandemic has thrown things upside down terribly. hopefully, in a few months time we can. It's nice to meet you btw, next time you are here, do connect.
