I have to say, Aku's voice actor did a much better job here than in the last season of the show. I can tell he tried to emulate Mako's accent a bit more and it helps his performance tremendously.
Yeah, while I don't mind Greg Baldwin's take on Aku, I admit he reminded more of a big Slavic goofball than a grouchy Asian senior like Mako voiced him.

I gotta admit, it's interesting how the game is set in canon just by a split amount of time due to future Aku altering Jack and Ashi's trajectory to the past so Jack could fulfill his destiny, and leading Jack to deal with his memories with the only way out to fight his way through. It's pretty interesting, where the team could have gone with it being non-canon and having a different telling of what Jack did.

@@BryonYoungblood There are some plot holes that left us questioning like “who is the High Priestess and where she came from” and “Has the Scotsman been fighting Aku’s tyranny in the between seasons 4 and 5”.
It’s just a thought but I figured maybe a Scotsman Spinoff series could answer those questions since he is one of our favorite Samurai Jack characters.
@@a.jthomas6132 It's so weird to call it canon though since it takes place in a pocket dimension for 99% of the game, about the only part you could consider actually canon is that Ashi somehow managed to survive being erased from time.

Wow. I thought this game would chronicle the entire series, but it's actually a side-trip through some dream dimension that replicates all of the places Jack has already been and the people he'd met. That's quite creative.
my favorite moments are seeing inner jack again and ashi saving jack simillar to how he saved her from omen

I'm thinking Oban Star Racers, Mobile Suit Gundam (Universal Century era, Cosmic Era, After Colony era) Zoids, and Inuyasha...if they don't *still* have reruns. Then again, if Funimation took the anime and broadcasted them, that'd be even better.

1:10:01 When Da Sam-oo-rai popped up to defend I got so lit. I was so excited to see him finally utilized as a fighter.
He was such a creative character. It's a shame they didn't utilize him better in the show. I'd love to have seen some team-ups between him, Jack, and the Scotsman. Especially if he and Scotsman had an abrasive relationship and Jack was awkwardly trying to be the mediator. Definitely a lot of comedic potential

Gotta be honest, I was hoping for more OG content, like the blind archers, the group of bounty hunters that talk about their plans, the Spartans, Jack's friend, the Monks, chicken Jack, Mad Jack, Stylbator, the scientists and their rocket, the haunted house thing (I honestly don't remember what the monster was called), the Guardian, and Tri-Seraquins.
You and me both. Those are the things i would like as well. Especially an alternate ending where Jack doesn't lose Ashi.
@@a.jthomas6132 I'm mostly just interested in everything pre season 5. Like Jack learning how to "jump good" or the tower where Jack fought the Shinobi, or where Jack fights a "fair" fight against Aku, or when Jack *fought* Da-Sa-Moo-Rai, or when Jack helps those mobsters working for Aku.
It's disappointing, but I can forgive it due to the low budget. What I can't forgive is the Guardian not making an appearance. They even had the voice actor for him, cause he's the same guy who voices Demongo (Kevin Michael Richardson). Sometimes I feel like the Guardian is more important to the fanbase than to the creators of the show.

yeah now their stories are complete i know a vast majority of fans hated the finale my only minor gripe was ashi pulling a nia from gurren leggan when season 5 came it introduced to us ashi a misguided victim of aku it was no longer a tale about a wandering samurai anymore so when she died i felt only half the story was complete but thanks to the alternate ending its now fully complete

As far as I'm aware, the original creator of the show was in charge of this and actually took the opportunity to "correct" some things he wished he'd done differently in the show
@@alexanderren1097 Yeah he definitely corrected the terrible original finale. But he also included other great scenes like Jack dealing with past encounters sometimes differently; Jack being unable to escape fated outcomes, and even a secret ending where he is happy. The one thing I felt was missing was Aku's shapeshifting into animals and monsters but the actual confrontation with Jack was absolutely necessary.
So, "Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time" as a new video game was actually the events of the story take place during the end of the final episode of the grand finale of "Samurai Jack"?

You wanna know what's *really* cool? Since Jack's a samurai, I bet he has the same power those Samurai Power Rangers had: 2 samurai swords (One with 5 animals on it, the other one's a Shark Sword.), a samurai armor with an awesome design based on the Samurai Megazord, and the power to summon not only the Folding Zords, but also, the Claw Zord, the Light Zord, the Octo Spear Zord, the Beetle Blaster Zord, the Tiger Drill Zord, the Shark Zord, and the Bull Zord. That way, Jack will be able to take Aku down in a flash.
I would have liked it if, for the Golden Ending, after Aku is destroyed in the past and Ashi is subject to RetGone, Jack tracks down the Guardian, and uses his portal to fight Aku in a paradox dimension, allowing him to recover Ashi.
Guardian shouldve been a true hidden boss fight since they already had his voice actor on this game (demongo) but low budget so yea

How come we did not get his first armor? If you all remember episode 3, Rochild and his canine he archaeologists create an armor for Jack for his battle against an army of Aku's beetle Drones.

yes he caused his own demise which is why i wasn't upset with the guardian retcon cuz all the times he called jack a fool he turned out to be the biggest one in the end and thanks to this what if story his future self is trapped forever between time a fate worse then his past self plus ashi is safe even with aku's essense out they are free of aku and can now be in peace the true final scene of the game reminded me of steve and peggy's happy ending
Wow this game looks pretty good. The game play seems good. Amd the story (well come on its a samurai jack story ). I am glad they didn't just do a cash grab with this one.
Small problem, I remember something about a claim that this changed the ending of Samurai Jack... which many people disliked (including myself) but after watching it... all it did was 'extend' the ending. We know what happens after the end of the game... and it's sad.

“A place between time” that makes no sense. Another timeline would be nice, but I think Aku should’ve been killed in the future so Jack’s future friends could continue to exist in an alternate Timeline. Instead of erasing them from existence or leaving them to die by Aku’s hand.
Samurai Jack contain scenes of violence that maybe consider shocking, some material maybe inappropriate for children under 13.
You forgot the true ending, but i'm guessing you needed to collect all the emperor's kamon collectibles to get it.
Samurai Jack, Dracula and Kotal Kahn are all voiced by the same VA.
This game was a blast to play but I couldn't help but notice the gameplay was basically a carbon copy of DMC5 although with less variety of combat.
