A map that never bored me
BF3 has great infantry gameplay but Noshahr has an abundance of cover, flanking routes, and few areas for players to camp. Snipers can sit back but are also still in range of assault rifles and LMGs. You can play aggressively or defensively. It just works
Same with Kharg Island TDM but it was a little more spread out. Going from BF3 TDM to BF4 TDM was a huge step backward. In BF4, I remember spawning and then getting killed by enemies who just spawned where I did like ten seconds ago. Never had that happen in BF3 TDM, maybe one guy gets to the spawn but their killed fast. BF4 seemed like a very lazily done game to me.
I could have fun playing any class on nosehair canals, especially try-hard assault class. What a good map!

I could not care less about that mode and luckily most people agree with me.
Even when it comes to 4vs4 players it's not a dull moment in this map
BF3 has the best map design. I remember hearing something like this mentioned years ago.
BF3 maps were carefully designed levels first and then the artist environment and details were built around them. For example Operation Metro.
BF4 did the opposite, they did artist approach first. Maps designed around environment instead.
Maps that were designed around gameplay. How it should be. Rather than what looks pretty, because that isn't always best.
The biggest problem with BF4 was the community, it was full of people who just rambo or snipe in the back, not playing the objective.
Operation Metro is trash.
No,BF3 has the best art design map,but Bad Company 2 has the BEST map design,it's way more balanced.

Killing all the crane campers gives you that sense of satisfaction👍👍😄
And smoking them out with mortar smoke, and listening to them whine, was also satisfying

You could unlock different weapon attachments really quickly with that map too. That's why I used it a lot! 👍
One part of me wish they make a remake of this brilliant game, and another part of me are very much afraid they will screw it up, no matter what they make or what the next BF game will be..
Needs to happen for next gen, BF3 with 64 players would be godly. I’d never play another game.

30 minutes ago I was trying to record a clip for your compilation or just my channel on this very map. Got 3 noscopes and 2 headshots with the L96, then checked the recording only to see I had fucked up the resolution. The pain is real.

i remember grinding out many a servce star in this map back in the day. always felt the gunplay was better than bf4 as well. i think i mostly played 24 player servers which i felt allowed lots of movement. hope this is back in the new game!

Back in the day no one cared so much about the 10Hz servers, they just enjoyed the game.
This game was ahead of it's time, no one could imagine playing on a 64 player server, probably this game still being played by many people because it's reputation, it was the first Battlefield to have amazing graphics with Frostbite 2 and crazy destruction maps, even if BFBC2 did it first.

@Dee Bee 32 is what was limited on last gen consoles, PC players got to play with 64 players, which lends to the game being more chaotic and fun.
Going 47/2 on that map with the SKS is one of the best gaming moments I've had in over thirty years of playing shooters.
i honestly really liked when your team would sit at the docks and camp the enemy team. when you are getting stopped like that your team would find ways to flank and it was always fun
you forgot the young brother of norshar, Kiasar Railroad TDM. sadly, its part of endgame dlc so not many servers usaed in rotation

I play daily TDM in canals for like 1-2 hours to relax.

Another thing that people don't really bring up or notice but greatly enhances the gameplay are the voiceovers in bf3. Which range from funny to serious lines that play from the character while shooting,getting shot at etc. This is one of the reasons why this game is so memorable compared to bf4,bf1,bf5
I loved playing infantry only mode in BF2 on big maps like Strike at Karkand, Mashtuur City, Road to Jalalabad etc. That was really missing in BF3 and BF4.. never understood it because it was such a popular style of playing in BF2.
I've become an actual Ninja (knife-only) aka 'The Noshar Ninja' in this map :P I can climp & jump up to absolutely anything you can think of there. Took me a lot of time to learn all the techniques but now it's so much fun. I even feel like DICE has developed these hidden techniques so you can learn to become a ninja haha

I got the game 2 years ago on pc and startet playing again about a month ago and can’t stop. It has bad hitreg on pc and the servers really suck and most people camp or play shotguns but it still has the nostalgic feeling I had when I played it in 2012 with all my friends on ps3.

When the underslung m26 with heavy barrel was still a thing, I had my best match on the map. 136 kills to 36 deaths. Had to go on a vacation after that, came back, all servers banned it :(.
I remember playing this map with m230 smoke and knife and still top fragging, fun times
I still play daily on this tdm noshahr canals servers. I think that people still play it because it is a very fun way of playing the game and also gets the job done. You get in a game, pick a gun and start killing people. Map design allows you to change the playstyle you want to execute depending on the class. It is also a goob way of getting your hands in the game in your day before playing some conquest and rush. For me, I like it because i get in, try to get a lot of kills for 2 or 3 games and thats the day for me, just like a good way of getting fun in a fast way better than the sometimes long and boring conquest and rush games...
This was one of my favorite maps in BF history for sure.

bf3 was just an absolute unit when it came to unlockable content and gamemodes. Miss these days man
i played this map 24/7 on a rented server. 500 tickets tdm. always over 100 kills and you could rank up fast.
this map is just legendary in BF3... And it is fun as hell parachuting down with C4 fishing
I love conquest but gets old sometimes getting blow up from a jet or tank lol I love the infantry gameplay
I play 3 and 4 couple times per week on Xbox One - still love it. Remaster with higher resolution would be mint.

Bruh I remember getting banned on a server when I got lucky and got the jump on a couple of guys culminating in a quick 10 kills on xbox 360. Best ban of my life
I got banned for killing a bunch off campers in a cargo container with a grenade and a shotgun. Apparently “it’s cheating”.
Yes! the remade BF4 Noshar map was so much bigger with much less cover. It felt like they made it to accomodate vehicles even though it was infantry only and out of bounds on conquest. Baffling.
I thoroughly enjoy trolling and parachuting on the cranes and sniping
Bf3 had so many cool maps and the mods they fit perfectly , miss this game
I have the premium version of Bf3 but there's no US servers with a sizable population that play the dlc maps. Really all I can find are 3 servers, two that just play Metro and Noshahr Canals, and one conquest server that rotates only a select few of the vanilla maps.
I never thought of this map as particularly popular tbh.
Kharg Island TDM was my favorite tdm map in the game
Weird cuz I felt that you were faster at running and jumping in BF3. Either way, you should do another vid on Sienne Crossing TDM, PS3 has a 24/7 server as well and I have a lot of fun on that map!

Bf3 was such a sick game on release, it sucks that for some reason most servers ban anyone that gets a good score... tried playing Hardline on the only server available in EU that is constantly full... banned for having high stats, tried playing Bf3 on a Infantry Only server, banned for high stats... Bf4 is the only older Battlefield where you wont be banned for high stats
8 years after quitting this game because of frame rate problems and I still remember this map so well. 64 players was too much there but it was still playable unlike Operation Metro.

What is it that the ribbons and medals in BF3 are so much better than later iterations of awards? Combat Efficiency, PDW, and Medic ribbons/medals I think are the best.
this map I made nights and I played 8/10 consecutive hours, and not only in tdm this map is wonderful both in conquest and in rush.
you can do anything on this map and unlock most of the soldier's arsenal, it is so balanced that you can use all classes without losing anything.
this is not the only wonderful map of bf3 there are damavand peak, grand bazaar, metro, cross seine
which in any mode are played have a unique visual and audio quality.
Battlefield 3 will also have a dancing netcode but it has more quality than flaws- So it's the best quality battlefield without a doubt.
This map reminds me of Rust in MW2. A sweatfest but gratifying when you go on insane killstreaks.

How is the rush community in BF3? I'm thinking about picking it up, hardcore rush used to be my jam when I played on xbox.

The guns are all working in this map
Unlike BF4, in that game, the RPM is everything, so you can see the AEK, FAMAS etc etc dominated that game
In BF3, every weapon can work in Noshahr Canal and Metro's TDM mode, and you can still do well in this game
You can rock an SVD, an SV-98, an AK74M, an LMG that no one uses like TYPE-88 or like what you did, a UMP45,
Hell, you can run with a knife and you can still have a good time in there
Everything just works in this map and in this game

If you’re able to find a Dragon Valley TDM match in BF4, you’ll get a version of this map.
It was/is a map that can be enjoyed by every class. Whether you're a sniper, or someone that enjoys CQC, the design of the map made it viable to everyone. Some of the best matches, were playing TDM on Canals - especially the 64 player servers - there was no let up!
It's a real shame about the dodgy hit reg, as I loved BF3, my first experience within the BF franchise.

I'm just sad that when this map hit console on BF4, that the TDM servers for it only lasted about a month. After that, it was near impossible to find. I'd play this for 4 straight hours tonight, if I could find it!

The difference was the map creator. He did an very good job. Sometimes such a good map need just time to create and no short time plan while development. Head glitching is like in real life while looking out of a window and then ducking. I agree with the 64 players point. The height you have on spawn point give it an advantage for sure cause of the headglitch.
They like it for TDM ya know the mode that strips everything that makes battlefield different from CoD down to looking a lot like...CoD. Pretty sure most people don't like it on conquest it tends to end up a base camp.
I wish more people would play the bf4 version of noshahr
TIL that Nosharh on PC is bigger that the PS3 version, which makes sense. That warehouse near the other crane is new to me.

battle field 3 was amazing. I have played 4 and hardline and One and 2042 and they fail in comparison to battlefield 3. Noshar canals was so much fun. Alot of close range and mid range and good sniping. It was amazing
Canals is the best, there's no need to look above to see if there's someone camping with an lmg above a building and you can't hide for too long this make the map so frenetic that you always want to play more

The addictive trick for BF3 Canals was that to be the best /what made you win wasnt how you aimed and the gun you used, but how you moved around the map and used the map as a weapon. Flanking, jumping around, predicting where the enemy will spawn so you where already on their flank,... thats what made you win. Imo. Hardcore mode of TDM Canals was the cherry on top, 1 shot snipers and most riffles kill 2-4 guys in a mag not this BFV shit time to kill that takes a year to kill someone. TTK in BF4 was too slow for me. TTK in BF1 and 5 is just unplayable.

64 player conquest and rush was good on this map too.
AEK on this map on BF3 was the way to go.
I play Noshahr Canals TDM because:
- infantry only, no vehicles
- quick respawn, back into action fast
- most kills and fast kills
- best exp grind
- one of the few servers still active
I still play this every day using a jng with iron sights and a xbow
Ahh climbing the top of the crates in the middle to place a TUGS and then patrolling the crates area to blast fools who showed up on the minimap, those were the days...
Man I still it play it and I think I was in that match.
I remember a noob calling me hacker because he was camping with the 870 in the container next to the truck on the north part of the map, and I threw some C4 through the little hole and he said "you can't kill me from outside with that" xD
I can pull up the servers on BF3 on XB1 but it won't let me connect to any.
Do you live on the east coast of the USA if so there have been connection issues since mid February I have them from Ohio
