My worry with UBI isn't that money gets squandered, its that the price of rent goes up now that landlords know there people get a little extra then they want that extra. Not just rent can to up but anything will can raise in price for that extra. I always tell people that everyone wants your money more than you do.

Prices still need to stay competitive enough for people to buy them, McDonald’s is having hard time selling because their prices are matching that of “premium” burger joints (Red Robin’s, chilis)

Those benefits are highly flawed because if you make too much income you lose those benefits thus you are a welfare slave. Universal basic income is good but only if it’s UNIVERSAL no matter how much income you make. Our current welfare and government budget is broke because the US government spends 6.5 trillion a year and only makes 4.5 trillion a year thus our national debt crisis will never be solved!

Make it so the money can only be spent on essentials like if you try to buy toys or jewerly on the UBI card it'll come up with can't purchase

    * When one group of people try to take something from another group of people that’s called theft. You can dress it up anyway you like to make it feel right or feel modern. You can even call it the law. People aren’t stupid. “WE” Will not EVER! Achieve peace this way.

It's parasite that they didn't squander the money because they already knew it wasn't a long term income.

Ok. Where does the state get the for UBI? Wouldn't UBI produce inflation if there is nowhere to get the money needed?

Universal basic income needs to happen at the federal level and without means testing. Municipal universal basic income doesn't work. It only works if everyone can get it equally.

I don't think that's UBI which implies a living wage abolishing the need to work. $6K per year is not a living wage. It could never cover the cost of living (ie, the basket of basic goods and services comprising the Consumer Price Index) The UBI idea is meant to be the ultimate safety net, preventing homelessness, starvation, etc., in case of loss of long term, technological (structural) or permanent un- employment. Of course the good people of Stockton worked - with only $6K income and nothing else what choice did they have? UBI by definition might be $30 - 40K per year for each citizen. Discretionary spending would be funded by earned Income, with UBI for fixed expenses and necessities.
One big question is what would stop millennials from retreating further into their basements and play video games all day long - and worse - while living off UBI. I know I heard people discuss plans to use the CARES Act to pay for marijuana and liquor and partying. Few saved anything during that time choosing to squander it. Many became NILFs or Not In Labor Force. Stockton is not a sample, it's an exception.
The "grandpa" ageist reference is not lost upon me. This idea Millennials, Gen X, and their ilk have that they have new ideas older generations just can't understand. That they must be condescending. The truth is that there is not a well thought out or original idea in their heads. They are not revolutionaries in any sense. Sadly, while Boomers had at their disposal more education and middle class resources than any generation, Gen X has more information yet less knowledge. Hippies from the 60s bought to bear on societal problems an impressive array of brainpower, whatever else we might say about them, theirs was a generation of genius and they changed a world. Imagine what they might have accomplished had they been time-shifted to the Information Age!
In closing I shall say Occupy Wall Street impressed me by its resourcefulness, intelligence, organization, moral authority shown. It shows there may be hope yet for millennials who hope to leave their mark of any kind upon the world.

Even the Russians are not all-in when it comes to Marxism. Odd how the world's wealthiest man was born and lives there.
