Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) makes it easy to set up, manage, and scale a relational database in the cloud. This service provides cost-effective and customizable capabilities and automates time-consuming administrative tasks such as hardware delivery, database setup, patch scanning, and backups. You can focus on your applications and make sure they meet performance, high availability, security, and compatibility requirements.
Available for a variety of database instance types-optimized for memory, commons, or I / O-Amazon RDS offers six familiar database engines, including Amazon Aurora , PostgreSQL , MySQL , MariaDB , Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server . You can use the AWS Database Migration Service to easily migrate or replicate your existing databases on Amazon RDS.

Amazon RDS facilitates the transition from project design to deployment. You can use the AWS Management Console , the AWS RDS CLI, or simple API commands to access the capabilities of a production-ready relational database in minutes. There is no need to deploy an infrastructure, and you can also afford the installation and maintenance of database software.
Highly scalable
You can scale the data processing and storage resources for your database with just a few mouse clicks or with an API command. Often this is even possible without downtime. For many types of Amazon RDS engines, you can launch one or more read replicas to relieve your primary DB Instance of read traffic.
Available and stable
Amazon RDS uses the same highly reliable infrastructure that underpins other Amazon Web Services. When you deploy a multi- AZDB instance, Amazon RDS replicates the data synchronously to a standby instance in another Availability Zone (AZ). Amazon RDS provides many other features that improve reliability for critical production databases, including automated backups, database snapshots, and automatic host exchanges.
Fast
Amazon RDS supports the most demanding database applications. You can choose from two SSD-based data storage options: one for high-performance OLTP applications and the other for cost-effective standard storage. In addition, Amazon Aurora provides performance in conjunction with commercial databases at a tenth of the cost.

Sir i had a interview question
Create a oracle database with your own vpc, with private subnet
I failed in this question can you please put a video on this topic please sir iam learning aws with your tutorials and attending interview pls
It's simple create a vpc first with a subnets
In routing table select a subnet and make sure it's not connected to the internet gate way so this make private subnet. After that create a RDS with Oracle flavour and select the vpc and private subnet which we created.
Plz explain how to create free tire aws RDS MySQL server ?? I would like to create a RDS free tire server for learning purpose ! So I just know what is the smallest instance in RDS ? Thanks

For what purpose read replica is used?
Is read replica is like snapshot?
Thanks for your query, read replicas is used for increasing the performance, "You can reduce the processing load on your database source instance by redirecting read requests from your applications to the Read Replica. Read Replicas allow you to perform elastic scaling for high database read workloads beyond the capacity limits of individual DB Instances."

A quick question. Does this AWS RDS a server less platform? As a DB administrator, do you think we'll have access to the underlying servers. As I understand, EC2 instances has underlying infrastructure where the admins have access via RDP.
