Lighting! It's so key to have a solid understanding of lighting to create striking photos. Love the final image- the vintage feel, the mood and the composition!
Always learn so much from you guys! That episode from the photoshoot series will always be one of the best things I've seen on the internet🙌 So educational, inspirational and enjoyable! Always Love what you guys do! Keep inspiring us💪
Every time I look at your portfolio, there is something new to be inspired by and details I'd never noticed before. Makes me believe that photography is not just clicking a button like people would often tell me. Thank you!
That outside the door photo is so amazing. I love movie-style images and it nails it. Color grading is awesome, composition is A+, the use of DoF, the light, the models all great
And the doorframe right in the middle is like a divider between them. I love photos that tell a story, and I could easily write 3-4 stories just based on this picture. I rarely save videos to keep, usually just save them to watch later, but I saved this one to keep and re-watch because it's really good, thanks guys!
Yes, I love your photo. The wall is literally/figuratively in between the couple and the fact it's in the middle of the frame would make me stop and look at the photo.I love the colors and patterns as well. Very cinematic and beautiful.
You guy really know what you are talking about ..ive always wondered why some photos get my attension for long and some i just look and move on even if they are of good quality and your explanation actually makes sense
I agree! I thought you guys hadn’t been making content until I actually visited your channel and saw new videos I hadn’t seen. I just hit notifications so I don’t miss anymore. 🍻
I didnt saw your videos for a long time even tho i saw the ones in this video, but i have to say i love this one sometimes i tend to forget there rules and this one is just an amazing video .thks
Such great tips! The info about creating a story is where I’m currently struggling, how you broke it down gave me some new things to think about! Can’t wait to apply these to future shoots 📸 Thanks so much! 🎞
This video is actually insanely helpful! I'm still new to taking photos and have been struggling to figure out interesting composition. Now I have lots to think about for my next shoot and it's opened my brain to ways to be more creative! Thank you both so much!! PS thank you for explaining everything so clearly and thoroughly :)
I think that the last picture that u guys spend time to see if it checks all the points , its really striking and i think its a great example that can be used as reference in order to compare to the points u mentioned!!And i personally believe even if a picture doesnt checkk all the points still u can combine some of them and have an interesting picture cause when you strive to check them all maybe u will lose the process and the fun in creating..its very useful to educate and familiarize yourself with the points you mentioned so that you have them in the back of your mind and eventually act natural and combine points just as being second nature :D thanks again for a great consulting video!!!
New to the channel and I’ve fallen in love with content! Love your guys thoughts and knowledge! Will definitely be trying out these tips for my photos. Also love the lo fi beats in the back! 💯✔️🔥
I'm just here to say this is the best of the videos I have watched on your channel. Great content and you're are not rushing through it like you usually do (or maybe just not talking as fast). I had to pause to comment ;) It's clear, concise, and with perfect sound balance. Kuddos!! ...and thanks! Oh, and yes the last picture hits all the points. It's striking and draws the viewer in.
This is great! Video request, can you zone in on different types of photography you do wedding, portrait, product etc. how you would approach them differently?
From now on, I will carry a sheet of paper to check all of this points, thank you Mango Street! A partir de hoy andaré una listita donde me pondré a chequear todos estos puntos jajaja
sure gear helps, but one of those photos was shot on an iphone 7. a striking photo shot with a phone will always be more interesting than a boring photo shot with nice gear :)
🎤Hey guys! Another great video! I'm curious about your audio... I'm assuming you're using the audio from both of the SM7B tracks? Is there another shotgun above you? I'm just impressed as Rachel turns her head while speaking the audio stays pretty steady. (Sounds great, too!)
Thanks for sharing such great tips! I noticed, however, that when you were talking about making your subject pop and separating from the background, you were using the term "focal length" when I think you meant to say "depth of field". A shallow depth of field is a great way to draw attention the subject by keeping the subject in sharp focus and throwing the foreground and background out of focus.
From my point of view sometimes most of the tips are composition itself. I mean, your photo has great framing and she is “the hero” because of the sharpening and her position but he is there for us because of the lightning. That's the reason that for me the photo is great. What do you think?
what’s your favorite tip or whatever? mine is shapes / repeating patterns, i think 🤝
I love it all ♡
Location for me
Same, honestly! Something I have never thought about before.

This video could easily be given the title: “why not every person who takes photos is a photographer”

Wow. This was dope.
Its never too early for some Mango Street

From now on, I will carry a sheet of paper to check all of this points, thank you Mango Street!
A partir de hoy andaré una listita donde me pondré a chequear todos estos puntos jajaja
Did you add or changed your lighting position to add more reflections to your eyes? If you did, it works, looks amazing!
yeah, i (daniel) put a small little light on my side to add a little fill for the eyes since i'm farther from the key light.
These are great tips & examples.
Also me... where in the hell would I get a space suit?
tricky to find, but we found a rental house in LA, fortunately.
Ty for video.
These tips are helpful.
And these type of photos require good lenses!
Gear kinda does matter! 😉
sure gear helps, but one of those photos was shot on an iphone 7. a striking photo shot with a phone will always be more interesting than a boring photo shot with nice gear :)
@@MangoStreet fair enough.
