You mean there's a consise TH-cam channel that makes game reviews that are actually reviews and not 30 minutes in-depth walkthroughs of all the game components, the entire rulebook, and anecdotes from the youtuber's childhood? Subbed.
Hands down, my favourite star wars game ever. And the includes the PC Rebellion and Kotor. I'm thinking of doing Imperial assault as well before the last movie comes out. Good idea?
Can you share some pics of your painted minis? I have a Rebellion copy and I plan to paint it as well. Thanks! ps.: if you have recommendations on how to start painting minis please share with us!
@@eduardooliveiraalmeida1691 Some pics here. vom-krieg.blogspot.com/2017/12/star-wars-rebellion-complete.html I did mine almost entirely by airbrush, so that might not be that useful.
@@3MBG wow this is was my first board game and is what made me fall in love with board games so sorry to say but anything that you say is negative YOUR WRONG. Also is there any way I could get you to paint some miniature of mine. I am willing to pay if you want to get in touch
@@northcreature5721 lol. Pertty much the only negative is that it's long, and it's best played as a 3-4 players is not as good as 2 players. I haven't heard anyone argue otherwise. Edit: Yes, Please do Imperial Assault!
I have had so much fun playing this game in all player counts, and unlike War of the Ring I actually think Rebellion plays fantastically with 4. Grouping up and sharing plans is exciting, but I can see how this might not be the case with players who are not as likeminded as yourself.
"Which of your children would you choose". Seriously though, gameplay wise they are pretty even, so just go with the theme you like more. (Rebellion in my case, but not by much)
I'm currently chosing the next game to get (I'm currently playing X-Wing (I stuck with V1 though), Flames of War and Team Yankee). My options are: 1. Rebellion (it seems really good and the expansion doesn't seem fully necessary) 2. Imperial Assault (the Core Set is a self contained game and expansions are plentiful and relatively cheap, so I can get some of those later) 3. Legion (it's a pure wargame and it really seems great, models are amazing too) 4. Armada (it's an investment I'd be willing to make over a span of a few years to get a serious collection with that sweet Super Star Destroyer to be the crown jewel) What do you recommend?
Totally depends really, asides from the star wars theme they are very different. Rebellion is best if you want a 2 player 3 hour plus head to head struggle. Imperial assault is best for groups. And i've not played legion. Armada is the best naval combat game ive played
Oh man, I have so many thoughts. First, excellent review. I'm amazed you covered so much in a short time, and your visualization cues are so good I will send this to interested players so they get the basic idea. * You declare "no official solo mode" which is something you haven't said before. I've seen the unofficial solo mode, it looks interesting. What made you choose to call this one out? * Your paint job is astounding. I'm a little jealous. * I hadn't considered the invade + diplomacy tactic to quickly generate units. My goodness.
1.) Because I loathe the unofficial solo mode, but people keep bringing it up. For me, rebellion is a cat and mouse game of bluff and deduction. That is a big part of the gameplay i like. 2.) Hahaha, took me 2 afternoons due to my "paint fast" techniques. Looks good though and im proud of it. 3.) Invade + diplomacy is the way to go. The empire is vulnerable on subjugated worlds to a bunch of bad effects. Following standard counter insurgency tactics, its best to stop to pacify, then move. Rather than just spread.
I have 2 i'm quite comfortable with. One is predominantly drybrushing figs as I did here. vom-krieg.blogspot.com/2017/12/zombicide-finale.html The other is airbrush the bulk of it, then wash and details, like i did here. vom-krieg.blogspot.com/2017/12/anachrony-complete.html The 3rd technique im exploring is the contrast paints. But i'll need to try that out before i give advice.
Is this game replaybility high ? ( If i play it once in a week ) is it going to become boring ( you tryd all combinations after a month , and the game just repeats ?). Many gamers says summoner wars is not so good i 2 vs 2 game . We tryd it and we never playd 1 on 1 again . How bad is your exsperience with rebelion plays in 2 vs 2 ? Can it be interesting when you are making plans with your team mate ? Thank you so much.
Think of Chess. It has infinite replay-ability. Yet nothing changes in the setup, the game "just repeats". So it depends on what you view as replayabilty. I've not play 2 on 2. I only play rebellion 1 on 1
Depends on how you look at it. It's a big game with lots of bits. I don't think its overpriced for what it is. You have the Emperor as you avatar, so you know. GW aint cheap either :)
Considering the contents of the box, the play time and the replay-ability, I do think that it’s well priced... but I don’t own it either due to the price point. I don’t play boardgames enough to justify the time or financial investment involved but hey... that’s another reason why I love me some 3 Minute Reviews.

PC Rebellion is fantastic! I’m surprised they haven’t released more expansions
Lol, i used the "death star under construction" in the naboo scene. Oops.

As superb as ever - wonderful summary.
Great painting. Much better then I excepted it may be

Interesting. We never played it at 4 because of WOTR at 4 being not much fun. May actually have to try it
The best Star Wars game yet.
I think I need to head to my local game shop...
You do
or Barnes N Noble
Hey man, have you done a video on the expansion?
No, i probably should have done like a 90 second sum up of it at the end of this vid though
Omg you did it, I love you!

so if the expansion fixes combat, the game wouldn't really work unless you bought it WITH the expansion?
The original combat works, its just not great at all. The expansion combat system is much better
Yayyyy!
Seems like this was better as a video game.
The Rebellion PC game was a long broken mess. A lot of cool ideas, but it dragged on and on. I much prefer this one.
I find age of rebellion to be 1000 percent more complex than TI 4th! This is a random comment with no purpose
It really is pretty damned random. Age of Rebellion is the RPG right?
@@3MBG haha yes it is! I meant just rebellion but we played the rpg last night so that's fresh in my mind lol

Any chance you want to sell your painted minis? They look great. I can send you my unpainted minis +cash!
Pretty much zero chance. My time is limited as it is, and even with my speed painting techniques that was still 8 odd hours work.
If you don’t tink dis is da best game eva made, den you da worst guy eva made.
