I've said this before but I am impressed by the fact that Kelsey managed to pick up a lot of fast visual jokes and Sseth fast dialogue on the first watch. In a way Kelsey is the perfect reactor to Sseth video because I've seen many people reacting to Sseth and they missed a lot of jokes from how fast it is.
Sseth doesn't explain why not Wizardry 7, but it probably has something to do with 7 being ancient, coming out in 1992 (despite this, you could still import your endgame save into 8, which is why Sseth only covers one of several possible intros).
@@FinnishCrystal Fun fact about wizardry 1, and the early wizardry series in general they are directly responsible for creating the JRPG genre (along with ultima) as wizardry and ultima were super popular in Japan and inspired the devs of dragon quest, final fantasy and such. In fact, wizardry in particular is SO GODDAMN POPULAR in japan it became its own micro-genre over there (there is a reason why most japanese dungeon crawlers are very similar mechanically, hell, even classic Shin Megami Tensei falls under this; WIth this continuing to this day with games like elminage, undernauts: labyrinth of yomi and so on), with several japan exclusive games (including full on nes and snes remakes of the first 3 or 4 wizardry games released over and over again, as well as unique scenarios and expansions for those games) AND the series surviving as a japan exclusive thing after it died in the west. Take the following with a grain of salt as I mostly seen it spoken in old forums and I think the old hardcoregaming 101 site... but the story goes that EA was actually behind the troubled release of wizardry 8, using connections in the industry and underhanded methods to delay the game's release and bankrupt the devs (sir-tech) so they could buy and the wizardry license like they did Origin and Ultima... ONLY to find out after the fact that, thanks to a business deal with a japanese company, all the rights to wizardry defaulted exclusively to the japanese company in question, and EA would not get jack shit. And so it went that even after wizardry died in the west, it remained an incredibly popular franchsie with countless spin offs and clones in japan.

@@admiralpepper6933 I recommend looking it up from a less ramble-ey source than me, its a facinating story really. Used to think the old Hardcoregaming 101 site was good for it, but not sure now-a-days, still, can dig up a link to their articles on the series if you like. There are likely other sources too (hell, I think even the likes of TV tropes touches on how influential it was) Edit: yeah, TV tropes touches on the subject, and reminded me that wizardry was so damn popular in japan it even got an anime adaptation OVA (original video animation) and a Mention of the Writer for dragon quest downright citing it as a big influence. It also reminded me that the 4rth game in the series is super weird and is basically the predecessor to SMT and the like, as you play only as one pre-existing character (the villain of early games) and have no party members, instead relying on summoned monsters to fight. Edit 2: and how could I forget, it was popular enough it got a japan only MMO even.
NOOO Chicago Reacts, I love you, but you cut it off before one of the best parts of the whole video - throughout the credits Sseth plays a lot of hilarious voice acting clips with many of the personalities. Would've been gold to see Kelsey react to those.
This game and Wizardry 7 are much easier if you import your characters. How you're supposed to play the game is - start in Wizardry 6, clear it, import into Wizardry 7, clear it, import into Wizardry 8. When you just start 7 or 8, it feels like everything is too high level for your starter party.
@@RexZShadow Whilst that isn't exactly untrue, a fresh start is probably the best way to play Wizardry 8, because there is a mechanic that selects the monster spawns in an area according to your current average party level in increments of 5. Trying to get to the first town at any level over 5 is a MONUMENTAL pain in the ass, because there are some level 6 - 10 variants that you absolutely will not be able to deal with until you've availed yourself of the facilities in Arnika by gearing up and acquiring Vi Domina for your party, because she gives you the combat edge you'll need to not get obliterated
Alt tabbing with sirtech games is weird, the game thinks you're holding down alt until you repress, like some games (GBA emulators come to mind) think you're holding down a move key if you alt tab out. It happened with JA2 as well.
I had this game when I was a kid. I did not understand any of it's game mechanics so I usually just got killed within the first few minutes or so, over and over again. I still played it for weeks though.. Man, I miss the times when it was so easy to be entertained by video games :)
I feel that. When I was a kid I didn't want to play the story mode of Golden Eye because it was scary to me, so I would just start up the multiplayer every single day and just wander from room to room shooting player 2 (who was of course no one) whenever he respawned for hours. I also beat the same terrible Fairly Odd Parents game probably around 30 times. I got so good at it I could literally just come home from school and bang out the entire game in an afternoon. These days I'll buy a brand new game, play it for a few hours and realize I'm ALREADY bored of it.
I don't really get the confusion when people see similar species in a game. Like ratmen and normal rats. That is like going to a zoo and being shocked that apes exist despite humans existing at the same time.
Give them a break, an oversaturated field with tons of example of quality content creators to take notes from is too small for them to learn important production notes from, and that's why they have 3-4 different pods of reactors reacting to the same videos at different times, leading to a ton of repeated content over a span of time with the major differences being the scope of the technical difficulties they fail to correct. Running a reaction channel is hard, that's why children can do it.
Since Kelsey seems enjoyed the voice acting so much from this game why not got even farther back in time and she what she think of the voice acting there? With for example, MandaloreGaming's Systemshock 1 review! Which covers the voice acting in detail and would make for a fine raction, I think
5:45 Uhm, humans are pokemon. And, yes, humans used to marry other pokemon. Thats in Pokemon Red/Blue, the first games (okay, technicly the names in japan are different and the colours are different and then theres... localisation at that time was a weird complex net of versions, lets leave it at that) in the series. Specificly, you could read about those kinda things in books in the game. And of course later breeding was introduced, confirming that it does not have to be the same pokemon to be able to breed with each other, they just have to share at least one egg group. So... humans used to marry pokemon, many of which they can have offspring with, i dont know why theyd stop doing that unless theres some strange type of supremacist stuff starting up... despite many being married and... Ill leave you with whatever implications one might draw from that. And, yes, there are a lot more relevant points of data from the series but i havent wached a ton of that (and, frankly, havent played for a few generations to be perfectly honest)
I opened this at 9 minutes after release, and there were 14 likes, 9 hours later, there are 526 likes. I approve of this growth. Y'all are awesome, keep it up!

I laughed my ass off at the joke about autistic tantrums, and i do not feel bad because i am autistic myself. I am way better now, but my tantrums in my childhood were BAD. And i still have anger issues i need to work out even now. Also, some insight in to why autistic people are tantrum prone, we are NOT good with change. It is possible to learn to adapt to sudden change, but it was (and still is to some degree, thankfully to a very much lesser degree than my childhood) a horrible struggle to avoid flipping my lid over things not happening the way i am used to. Anyways, my rambling aside, basically my point is: I will laugh at jokes about autistic people all I want because I am autistic, and i refuse to be ashamed of laughing at autism jokes.
