Fun fact: when the video came there were so many people (me included) who wanted to buy this gem that we basically overloaded the forums and the pay site.
@@six2make4 Yeah, for almost every game he's reviewed, I've either obtained legitimate, if possible, because of the video or had already owned it beforehand

Starsector really is the best game I've ever played. The quality is super high, it has so much stuff to do, it doesn't even take an eternity to get in to and my favorite thing about it is the fact that you can mod it yourself so easily. 10/10 deserved I've never gotten so much value out of $15
'is the best game I've ever played' Have you ever tried seducing the Pope? Marrying your sister-cousin or eating a bunch of innocent people and becoming a Messiah? If not I suggest you try playing Crusader Kings 2
It's amazing that even though Sseth literally just gave the game away for free with his CD key, he still generated so much buzz and made such a good case for why people should buy it anyway that he caused the forums and pay site to crash, and the subreddit doubled in size like 20 times over almost instantly. Anyway, worth the $15. Well worth it. Buy it. Now.
That, in my opinion, is the highest marker of an indie game's quality there is; if the game is so good that people who pirate it feel guilty and go back and pay for it.

We have to have a Kelsey reaction to the Wizardry 8 review by Sseth :) That review has an entire part dedicated to the voice acting of the game and Kelsey would be the PERFECT reactor. She's the best
I bought this game from his recommendation, the website really does look like something from the 1990's when you go to buy it, but damn was it a good time sink, added in the mods and some of the battles can choke your machine like it owes them money.
@Bernardo Andrade Picorelli Game has a really robust modding community. I personally am waiting for an update to a mod called Varya's sector which adds a whole bunch of unique bounties with unique collectible ships to the game. It's been dead for awhile but I'm holding out hope the author finds the time to update it.
Zach and Michael should check out the Mass Effect episode of Monster Factory, the Polygon series. It is an extremely funny show, one the funniest on TH-cam. It's definitely a bit of a hidden gem.
I spent several weeks playing this game as one handed as I could, because my arm was in a sling. And a week after I discovered this game, this video happened
You ignore distress signals unless you're looking to fight some pirates. That's the good outcome. The bad is that you find someone who ran out of fuel and you'll likely burn more fuel getting to them then they actually need themselves, usually draining more fuel than you can afford to lose.
This game is giving me bittersweet nostalgia for “Escape Velocity Nova” which is basically this game, +15 years ago. Especially the customizable ships part, since the best EVN ships were ones you had to hijack from AI factions in random or semi-random encounters. Personal favorite was the Starbridge. Basic version you could buy had 40-ish tons of cargo space, and 50-ish tons for weapon/armor/ship-upgrades. Class E Rebel StarBridge had over 160 tons of space for weapons and ship-upgrades. God I loved that thing.
The answer of what happens would be it's not a trap you're just going there to save them and he doesn't want to go there and save them if you was given the chance he would definitely go there just to kill them
Day 15 Please react to one of SugarPunch Design Works videos about design and characters it is easy to understand his explanation and very entertaining to watch!
The Remnants are ... well, the remnants of the AI built by Tri-Tachyon that started a machine uprising and are set on exterminating every lifeform that enters their systems. They are highly advanced, their ships are really powerful and able to wipe the floor with most player fleets of similar sizes. Generally considered late game content, they are also referred to by the community as [REDACTED]. Going to places marked by "DO NOT APPROACH" beacons is the only reliable way to get AI cores, and thus get ahead with your custom faction's colonizing efforts.

I can imagine xD, after this video, it also got me super hyped about it.
It seems like Sseth has that effect, I'm not saying it's not warranted but damn does he sell a game well.
I bought it a bit before that explosion
I liked it so much I'm now modding a custom faction for it. Incredible game.

You know what would be fun if you were to pirate the game the game would know and just make the pirate faction insanely overpowered
@@kazakhstanisastate4614 I like that kind of copy protection. It's funny.

6:08 most of the times, it is a trap. So unless you got a somewhat big fleet, don't even bother answearing them.
Of course, if you're powerful enough, IT'S A TRAP THAT WILL BACKFIRE! FORWARD!
