The worst part of Sseth's video on evenicle, is that when he is describing those horrific scenes, i am 100% horrified. But the stupid metaphors he uses also has me giggling like a madman. Sseth pretty much managed to make an explanation both horrifying and hilarious but mostly horrifying. I literally cannot keep myself from giggling as he metaphorically describes those horrible scenes, regardless of how horrified i am.
Yeah, he's one of those people I'd laugh at IRL while also being seething mad for laughing. Like, it's funny because it's so awful that he turned it into a joke that I can't *not* laugh.
To be fair, there is only one more scene in Evenicle that is equally as horrific as those, and I only assume Sseth didn't include it because he didn't have a good punchline (nor near as good voice acting to be as horrifying).

Sengoku Rance is such a fun game I sometimes forget it has some seriously messed up content. I'm not sure whether I should dive into AliceSoft's other works after seeing this.
Play other rance games. Especially rance 6. Rance quest got released recently and rance 9 is getting close to having an English release. You've got alot of time before rance 10 gets translated because it unironically has the most dialogue of any game ever made.

Ahh, good old Japanese eroge, I review a couple of them sometimes in my channel if you're interested. Evenicle itself is a pretty good game, I played it years ago so I barely remember the story, but I remember feeling quite satisfied with all the conspiracies and plots happening. The game barely has those "gore" scenes, and even then the gore isn't shown in the CG so it's pretty much "entry-level text-only" gore. As an RPG it's functional I suppose, it's not anything particularly special. It also has a sequel Evenicle 2 in an almost entirely different world featuring an all new cast. I quite liked the plot in this one and the conspiracies run deep in the plot here. There are barely any non-consensual scenes (at least 2, off the top of my head I only remember 2) in this one. Gameplay is pretty much identical.
In defense of Evenicle's goddess eve, she peace'd out early in the humanity's creation after her husband blew up. She wasn't around to think well on details.
Oh boy just wait till he reviews sengoku rance it's on his massive game review list and while the mc is incredibly messed up it's still top 5 best games I've ever played

As someone who has played through this, and several other visual novels made by Alicesoft, the general mood of their games is a balance between absurd humor and the darkest shadows in the corner reminding you of their presence. The games are quite well-made, but their darker aspects are not for everyone and that is perfectly okay. Oh, and the twins at the beginning of the video are not blood-related to the main character. No Habsburgs here.

Sseth didn't mention that murder also makes you an Outlaw unless you are blessed with the right to unalive people, meaning that the innocent can't fight Outlaws without risk of becoming Outlaws themselves even if they win the battle. Anyway, the game itself is fun, but the struggle snuggle scenes are bad enough that I just skip them. Like, I think they're worse than anything I've seen in the Rance games.

I'm absolutely disgusted by the notion that this game AND AN AUDIENCE for it exist, but I'm at the same utterly fascinated by how the level of "autism" (as Sseth often puts it, which doesn't mean real people with autism, respect!) required to blend those aesthetics, with a hero narrative and the kind of disgusting, abhorrent sexist hentai apparently included in the game (it is also what I imagine modern mainstream anime to be like, and I was very into manga and anime in the early 2000s, but always the classy stuff be it seinen or shonen). You should react to his Arcanum review, I think I haven't seen it here!

Evenicle is genuinely really good. Sseth oversells how much fucked up shit there is. Everything he mentions does happen, but that's about it.
