Im gonna save you all some time & more importantly...Money. Go to Walmart in the cleaning supplies section & buy a Pumice stone. it'll cost you a dollar & all you have to do is run is down the legs, like a brush, & it scrapes the eggs right off....You're welcome.
we made our own brushes, just take a hacksaw blade bend in half and tape ends together to form a handle. we brushed our horses all the time so they enjoyed and were used to it

The title should be how to remove "bot fly eggs" from a a horse. Not bot flys...
What you did not mention is what to do with the bot eggs that you scrape off. Proper collection and disposal is very important.
