So are we talking two lil' gay grandmas? or like me and my bestie, where we made a blood pact that if our husbands die when we're old we'll live together? Both are good but I need answers.
This has been the only time in history that I was able to hear any sound that lilsimsie was complaining about and I’ve watched her videos for like 4 years
Tip for realistic historical houses with thatched roofs: If you have a chimney you want furniture that keeps the inhabitants off the floor for sitting and sleeping, whereas if you _don't_ have one you want them to stay lower in the room for most of their activities to stay below the "smoke horizon" where the smoke from the fire gathers before it slowly filters through the roof.
My mom grew up on a farm, and that rug you put under the dining table is exactly like the one that was in my grandparent's house. They also had saloon doors between the kitchen and the hallway with the bedrooms. Old school farmhouses always remind me of visiting my grandparents. ❤
When you mentioned leaving the wall paint until last, I felt so called out. I had to upload my Simsie Lil Shell challenge house to the gallery twice because the first time I had forgotten curtains, toilet paper, and _an entire wall in the bathroom._
I had a family with two grandparents, their granddaughter and her husband plus her two kids (but they were toddler and baby) and it was TOUGH. Poor grandparents were really carrying it for a while, they deserved a good retirement lol.
My grandparents and their ancestors were near starvation pretty often, it was not great. If you want inspiration on how to make it easier in the Sims though, you might want to watch James Turner's Cottage Living Let's Play - some options my grandparents didn't have include Patchy and gardening robots. 😆 (Patchy comes with Seasons, gardening robots with University.)
Honestly, I much prefer these builds while you're experimenting and trying things to speed builds. I feel like I'm actually learning and I do want to improve my own building. While I probably wouldn't be caught dead using a farm house in the sims (not my playstyle, no hate), it looks great!
Wow, this is my favourite farm so far. This gives me so cozy vibes and you‘re never bored with the gameplay because you have so much stuff to do there. And it‘s cheap. Perfect!!💗
I once had vampires and wanted to grow my own fruits and vegetables with them so I slowly built an underground farm for them. At the end they had two full cellar floors filled with fruits and vegetables. Even deleted a ceiling in one of the rooms for fruit trees 😂
I used to have a vampire Sim who loved gardening!! My idea a few years ago was that he'd simply take care of the garden in the evening but your idea sounds pretty fun 😆
@@foranzo1582 that was my plan as well at first but then the plant collection got so big that he couldn’t get through all of them every night so I had to figure something else out and came up with the underground garden 😂
You always give me such great ideas for my SIMing 😃 I do love farming in the Sims. And it's realistic in the way that it takes time and hard work for your sim. But gardening and farming is probably one of the most profitable non-career pastimes in the Sims 4!
this is one of the best builds I've seen Lilsimsie recently built! I am currently playing a family, whose living in a house with simple living and off the grid challenges and this was what I needed!!!
I’m imagining this house to belong to an elder or even an older adult who has one grand baby girl and always has a nursery set up for her even if she only visits once in awhile 🥺
She did it again. Every time she posts a build video I end up building multiple builds in my game. But sadly they don't come out beautiful like her builds. 😂😂😂
I think it would be an interesting challenge to try to build a house with preset rooms. I never use those and I feel that I would be cool to see how Kayla uses them
This feels like home. It literally looks like one of my great aunt's homes with that sort of decor and overall interior color palette, with the wooden pieces and windows, and the green furniture. Especially with the flower wallpaper that's in the kid's room?? And the small living room without a TV? It's like I'm looking at a Sims reconstruction of a family member's house but like I can't remember whose house it is. It's so familiar but unfamiliar at the same time it's almost uncanny valley. Either way you nailed the vibe so well. It's very 70s.
Pro tip: grow all kinds of berries! I put them in everyones inventory and they always got a tasty snack with them. Also PERFECT to put all around your toddler room, and they can just have a snack whenever! Tbh it's me irl, always munching blueberries in the woods, it's amazing.
idk how to explain it and i hope i don't sound rude saying it but simsie is so comforting to me to watch but the weird thing is this isn't my kind of content... like at all. i barely watch these kinds of videos, i barely even play sims. she's just such an exception to me. her personality is radiating and just draws me in somehow and it feels so nostalgic like a childhood friend. shes already one of my comfort youtubers and i've only been watching her for not even a month. i love you simsie you're the best.
Just downloaded this build and made a few edits to start the decades challenge - love that these cottage vibes lend themselves so well to span generations of decor! Thanks simsie for the excellent build!
I really wish she wouldn't limit herself on price so much! When I play the sims I only need a cheap house for the family for a short period of time and eventually I have so much money I just buy random things and still have excess, so I'm okay with like a 1 bedroom apartment costing 50K sometimes
I am currently playing with a family of 6 in Henford-on-Bagley with the "Simple Living" lot trait!! It's been a few months now, and previously I had a different deneration of the same family, this time of 8 Sims. I have to say: once you get the hang of the garden, it's extremely EASY to play with "Simple Living." All you need is around 8 different plants max, maybe a chicken coop if you're feeling fancy, and you're good to go!!
Added this to my game almost immediately after watching! Started playing with a simple living family and their little one. Crops and baby milestones are both going well.. Really enjoyed this build, thanks for sharing it.
This house is going to be so much fun to play in!! I'm going to use it for the second generation of my new legacy save. Thanks for the great video and build!
For those who don't know, if a thatched roof in England has an owl or a bunny or whatever up there...it means the thatchers have not been paid in full just yet. These "loom" over the roof as a visual reminder to pay the installers. It's like the opposite of the stone lions some people place at the front gates to their property. Stone lions indicate that your mortgage has been paid off, so yay stone lion statues! On the "downside" for thatching...if the thatchers did a crappy job...everyone will be able to see it's crappy, AND most folks will recognize the local thatchers by their preferred rooftop critter! So most thatchers will try to do their absolute best work, since it's so very visible from the road!
I love watching builds but rarely play in them as I love building my own, but I think I’ll actually download and play in this one. So cute. I love the landscaping!
You have just blown my mind. The path idea in the garden is amazing. I have never seen anything more realistic then that in the sims. Amazing job, so incredibly creative.
I just got cottage living a couple of weeks ago and i am really into the farm life with my sims :D it's such a great pack and simple living is a cool challenge without being frustrating (like off the grid sometimes is)
@@rabbitknight87 I like that you always have the option to buy supplies if you don't have them right now. And since you only need a roof over the plants for them to produce all year round it's enough to start with some planters on a porch or roofed balcony until i have enough money to build a greenhouse
in basegame tomatos, lemons, and cherries are only available in one community garden lot in oasis springs, and also due to the fact that you have to be there for a while for the lemons to spawn in, if your sim doesn't live there they can just never get lemons. it's been a thorn in my supersim's side for a good long while.
i know its left in by mistake but its honestly kinda interesting to see how simsie self-edits while recording with obvious intentions of cutting it out afterwards.
Cute little farm house 🏡 🐓🐄, Thanks for sharing, I’ve learned so much on building and landscaping. watching your videos truly has helped and being able to use your builds is a fun touch. 🙏🏻😁

When you started a save with roommates struggling in the city and now they have two infants and a puppy and they need to move and you're struggling to find them a nice new place that's affordable but will fit into their family's growing needs and then this appears.
I go through similar obsessions with gameplay hahaha, sometimes I'm just like TODAY, I OWN A FARM and then that's it for like a month lmao. Then i'm like STRANGERVILLE. EVERYONE LIVES IN STRANGERVILLE.
Today I was thinking how cool it would be to have a farm cafe. like an old run down farm converted to a cozy cafe with chickens running around and everything. But I don't have the skills to build this stuff - maybe you could as you love building farms ;)
I just made a micro ecofarm in this lot with one of my Kyle Kyleson sons. He now lives with a Del Gato chick, they have chickens and a small oversized crop farm. They're thinking about adding a cow and a llama.
Friend of the family had a large garden, and right next to said garden was just a LINE of big ol' trees. Putting trees next to your garden isn't unrealistic XD My late grandma had a whole ass forest just beyond her garden, and btw, her garden was HUGE. It would have put your lil garden behind the house to shame XD I miss my grandma.
