"i wish wrote" he didn't write the song but he literally puts his heart and his soul while he sang this song. which is makes this is kinda his song too and this is the reason why a lot of people adore him. not just for lilac wine. he's doing the same thing for hallelujah too. i still can't believe his exisxtence.
Yes I agree, his version of this song is up there with Nina Simone's version and Elkie Brooks' version. All Exceptional versions. I also love his version of Hallelujah.
first of all, jesus christ, this took my breath away. just when I think I've seen the greatest live performances from him, another one like this comes up that's even better. Second of all, I am so grateful to that audience for not shrieking and shouting and making noise throughout the song. Nowadays, it would NEVER happen like this, so I have so much respect for this crowd who were mostly quiet and just enjoyed the performance without ruining it. there will never be a greater male vocalist than Jeff, and he was truly too good for this world.
sorry to tell you people were as wild in the past as they are now. Rock was much wilder itself, so crowd were wild. It's just, he deserved respect, and the public was mesmerized. To experience silence, at concerts, you must be in the presence of someone extraordinary - people are there to have fun, not to be quiet. he was a genius, of massive scale - and artists like him are rare, that's it.
As far as I’m concerned, Jeff wrote this. Like Hendrix doing all along the watch tower he made it his own. RIP beautiful dude. I’m not sure if we will see another like you ever again.
to me this is a gentle reminder to go out & see & support & Love the artists while you can, because some of the best are too soon gone. so frigging good... hugs & kisses-jj
A masterpiece, from one of rock's greatest voice. Delicate and powerful at the same time. I "met" Jeff Buckley around 2006, since then, never stopped. Pure Art

I just can''t imagine why he would walk into the Mississippi River at night. It was a very hot and humid day, and I don't think it was suicide like some speculate. Ugg just so sad
thank you so much for uploading this perfromance! its sad that not all the performances from this concert are available to watch, they are some of my favorites of his :/ his full performance of mojo pin from this concert was taken down and i cant seem to find it anywhere (its my all time favorite :/ ) thank you again!!!!!!

My sweet uncle Jimmy (James Shelton) wrote Lilac Wine❤
What a tragedy that he died so young. What passion, what brilliance!
Esto es patrimonio de Humanidad..

...suscribo tus maravillosas y acertadas ( para mí) palabras.🙌🏻
Si, ogni tua parola e' legge😍😍😍😍❤
You are SO correct about crowd behavior. People these days seem to have no respect for the performer or the other people in the audience.

Come to Europe, for concerts. Crowd behaves. Not in USA, never there. They have no manners, they even clap whenever their plane touches down
The silence of the crowd is so heavy and real. I don’t think I moved a muscle watching this

I just listened to this on E14 of One Day. It breaks my heart.
Love how he tunes up just like I do. At least on one level we're equal.
Beautiful...gives me chills. Tragic loss.

I assume he just had too much lilac wine that night.
@@thorr18BEM There was nothing in his autopsy report, no alcohol or drugs.

I hear a lot of Nina Simon influences in his music and singing.
@pureffm Nina Simone did a version of Lilac Wine, which is what inspired Jeff’s cover.
@@MojoPin1983 Yes but in general also true, isn't it?

Loved all of his talents ! Also love his lips ; and his beautiful ! Imperfect teeth 🤤 🤤....

I dislike Adam Levine, but at least he has some taste.😜
Yes! Exactly! I Am Definitely NOT a Fan Of Adam Levine Either But He's Got Excellent Taste In Music!!
try listening to Elkie Brooks version much older than this one…. ;)))

Anyone here knows when the new Jeff Buckley’s biopic will be released ?? Or any update about that ? Thanks :)
It should be released in 2023. Also, a new documentary, made by Jeff’s mom, is tentatively said to be released in 2024.
Parce que ça me ramène à toi

they say that god doesn't exist, yet I see him and hear him singing with a telecaster. Hm...
@alchemystcomicsbar2456 Incorrect. Jeff merely reflected the creativity beauty of God through his music.
Wonder why he did not acknowledge Nina Simone.
