Turtle's digusted face while looking at the old grease was just classic! The pulley came out wonderfully, and now i am thinking of Hogan's Heroes (Hochstetter). 😊 Such a wonderful job on the old pulley. I hope it has many good years left.
I like the way he bring the turtle's unique talents into the process. That's the way to treat a valued employee. I just hope he's paying into the social security plan and medicare and is providing for the turtle's old age.
I think its leather or rubber gasket for smooth noise free operation. It's purpose may be to prevent wearing off the pulley and its replaceable component. The leather rotted and appeared to be poop.😂😂😂
I always loved when turtle popped up here and there, but I wasn't much of a fan of his new face in the newer videos until he saw that old grease. You've won me over. Great restoration as always.
Nice save of that pulley system. And the colors look good too. One suggest, if you have the space, install a backup washer before installing the cotter pins. That way if, or when, the cotter pins spin, it won't scratch up the finish. Thumbs Up!
Love the restoration. Ever thought of giving the Lil Turtle a "Spa" day?. He works hard and deserves a shell buff no? Especially after cleaning that S#!T LMAO Great job!
I can't believe how well it came apart, sure there were a few times a punch was needed hut for the most part it seemed relatively easy compared to it's condition and how it looked. Great restoration :)
By the way, I think you should post longer format videos, you obviously work very hard at this and I think more of your work and time should be included, I'd happily watch a 30 minute video of this, you're so skilled
Mach weiter so 👍🏼🙋🏼♂️
I have two theories as to what that stuff caked in the pulley was: 1. It's manure/dirt from lying on a barn floor for many years 2. It's the disintegrated remains of the rope that use to go around it
I see a similar effect in my work. The pulley starts making noise. They put a lubricant. In this case probably grease. The grease, because it's wet, gathers dirt and dust particles causing it to cake up and dry. Then you have scrape it off to clean the pulley.
I would rather you restore items, yes old stuff gets wore out and loose. We love your videos and don't expect every item you do to work even better than it did when it was first made.
I found a easy way to paint raised letters a pice of cloth over a cork from a bottle put the cloth over the cork put paint on the cloth and just dab on the letters I used to do head stones for a living painting the letters so much easier. Hope this helps you out.
@@ForgottenShineRestoration hay you so very welcome and I love what you do keep up the great work and I am from the uk and your the first person who has got back to me for giving tips thank you so very much
Hi, I'm just curious as to why you hand paint the items as opposed to using spray paint? It is an environmental consideration? You know, because of the aerosol emissions from spray paint? Thanks for your answer in advance. 🙂
That's not a poop IMO. It must be some rubber type thing over a pulley so that the rope is easily pulled without being friction with frame. Rope gets a grip and pull things easily. BDW Amazing work.
2:26 - Whether that is poop or some other substance, when you remove it from the tool, why did you drop it into the wash basin? Wouldn't it have been better, since you had already removed it by hand, to drop into the trash so as not to foul up the water even more?
I loved your welding effect. I don't know if that was a filer, or an after the fact digital edit, but it was the first time I have seen it, and I REALLY liked it! Great job as always!

Just wanted to say, protect your camera lens from arc flash as well, it will damage the photo receptors inside it. Same effect as if you were to point it directly at the sun. There are shields you can buy to protect the camera lens like green tinted glass or plexiglass.

Not poop, but it may have been a pulley wheel with either a leather or rubber bedding to make the wheel less noisey.
