    Is it bad that i prefer the other kick? There seems to be way more sub in the kick you pitched regularly. Nice tutorial though.

    That's a pretty roundabout way of doing it. Just load the kick in two instances of Nimble Kick or Kontakt, one for the punch and one for the tail. Then you can process the kick without committing to audio, giving you the freedom to change not just the punch and the tail but the pattern as well. I do this in one instance of Patcher and keep all of my processing in there. Keep things neat and organized and gives me a lot of flexibility.

    Thank you for this !
    Also, I would love to see a tutorial on how to mix down a kick.
    I always struggle when it comes to mixdown every part of the kick.
    Like should the punch and the tail stay in the same volume?, how do I know my lead is loud enough compared to the kick or the kick compared to the melody.
    I know side chain makes it come cleaner etc I saw your breakdown videos as well and stuff - but still - I find it hard to get the balance.
    Sometimes when I’m listening to tracks, the melody is slightly under the kick and sometimes the kick is defiantly lower in volume.
    Also, should the tail and the punch be limited so the volume is on straight line in left and right (like mono sounds) or not ?
    I don’t have Ozone - how can I make sure my punch and bass is mono below

    You have regulated the kick with the pitch control in FL, but if you work with the pitch range and then stretch or shorten the tail with the MUL control, then the power still remains in the tail. In mode e3 Mono

    why pitch kick samples, when u can do kicks with synths and fx and play them in the right notes?

    • @OnPointSamples
      @OnPointSamples  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you wan't very professional Hardstyle kicks, you'll have to work in your playlist compared to a VST/Synth. The synths are an insanely good starting point (XFer Serum for example), but if you want to get them to the next level: take them out of Serum, and work with them in your playlist! :)

    pitching kicks with edision and time stretch is more easier than this

  • @NirvzHD
    @NirvzHD 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This way is a real big waste of time. Kick Pitching basically has everything to do with the gain level of the fundamental frequencies in your tail. For example, your kick which has a base note of F# has a great fundamental frequency @ 46 hz. Awesome. But if the second harmonic, which would be around 92-93hz, has no gain the kick would fall flat.
    The general rule is that the 1, 2, and 4th harmonics are the most important harmonics, mathematically, to a hardstyle kick. I recommend finding the hz of your kicks fundamental and making sure those frequencies are nicely emphasized, but not overdone. This will give your kick the power in the high notes that it needs. Don't waste your time trying to 'pitch' a kick using an EQ that's a horrible idea, because you're not changing the frequencies of the kick to match your melodies bassline which is like music 101.

    • @OnPointSamples
      @OnPointSamples  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The kick isn't pitched by changing frequencies... It's already done in Nimble Kick. The EQ's & distortion are added to find a sweet spot to make the (already pitched) kick a bit more powerful (in case you think it's needed).

    • @NirvzHD
      @NirvzHD 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OnPointSamples Maybe the kick just sounds like shit then lol. Nimble does a good job of pitching a kick if it's well made. Just focus on the bass frequencies as I described and as long as the tail isn't out of key, a kick should sound good pitched through nimble.

    • @OnPointSamples
      @OnPointSamples  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just don't like the resampling methods at all 🥳 Which knob should I be turning then?

    • @Validodj
      @Validodj 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OnPointSamples Yeah ofcourse you don't because you should use the pitch knob right in the upper corner, that way it's stretcher much nicer and you can then shorten or lenghten the tail with the mul knob

    • @OnPointSamples
      @OnPointSamples  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Valido Did you know that the knob you are talking about operates based on the resampling method below it (the one I am tweaking)? Obviously, if your tail is a bit longer it should stretch and fit correctly. But it's still something in which FL is lacking. The resampling methods in Kontakt & Nimble Kick (or other DAWs) are much nicer. But each to their own! 😉

    brother, you need to clean up that tail...

  • @arziva1615
    @arziva1615 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can't find head and tail in this tutorial ?
    1. do you know that you can solo the punch and the tail inside nimble ? so you dont have to export them and do it ?
    2. the only real diffence you can hear is all the other elements and the big eq boost you add... i'm not really seeing the point of the tutorial ? or is there
    something i have missed... you don't " Pitch " the kick different... you simply altering the kick... os you start showing 2 ways of " pitching " where you don't eq and alter the kick... and then you say you got the " right way " where you alter the kick... the 2 other examples would have sounded exactly the same if you did the same processing to them...
    3. if you goal is to alter the kick, why not make a tutorial and simple can it that ?
    4. the kick has now completely lost its ability to translate to different speakers, by destroying it's phase multiple times, by making a huge roundabout way of doing things...
    finally I don't think that is a great way of promoting your sound and sample packs, because if the lack in producing abillity is this extreme in pitching understanding alone... I guess someone might start to question the overall quality of the sounds from " on point samples " in general... or is that just me

    • @OnPointSamples

      Must say this is one of our outdated tutorials… Never the less, it definitely helps people realise they can keep improving their kicks even if they think they are ready 😁
