In this video, I explain how the center of gravity of the ship (or vessel) shifts with the moving cargo while loaded or discharged using the ship's cargo gear. This is a very IMPORTANT question for both written and orals exam.

Sir your saying the cog of the cargo never move around and saying when Derrick picks cog of the cargo going to Derrick head. Then how did the cog of the cargo always stay with it

thank you sir for the concept. could you provide us for the concept of list w/o numericals. as to how does the COG shift?

A vessel steering a course of 240°T at 12 knts observes Great basses light (06°10' N. 081°29'E) to bear 340°C and Little Bases Light (06°24' N 081°44' E) to bear 040°C at 1000 hrs. After 3 hrs the vessel was due east of Dondra Head Light (05°55'N 080°36'E).If the current 090°T * 2 knts, which remained constant throughout, find the time when the vessel will be SE of Dondra Head Light.

Isn't it true that when there is a cargo suspended by a crane, the center of gravity of this cargo is the suspension point?!!!
Isn't it true that, when a weight is loaded on a crane, the center of gravity of this weight would be as if the weight was on the head of the crane, right on the suspension weight.?!!
    Thank you for everything sir
