No words to express gratitude for your all efforts for putting it so simple.
We as Indian seafarers are in large numbers in the industry but very few think and feel its your responsibility to contribute to the fellow seafarers.
I wish many can come forward just like you to help the world of seafarers.
May you all have safe and healthy sailing.
    Ameen

according to the drowing where the aft draft mark line is more ahead from AP it should be read with mark "+" and forward perpendicular (FP) is ahead, so it should be read on the forward mark"-" same as a middle draft during the trim correction.

Thank you for intersting explanation but in first trim correction calculations the formula looks like mistake, as I know that 1st trim corr'n = TrueTrim (cm) x LCF x TPC and devided by LBP.

When keel thickness is considered in the draft survey, for example 0.018m, which displacement needs to be considered as correct? moulded or extreme displacement?

Thank you very much good explanation but in 1st trim correction the formula for calculation i am not shure that is correct as i have «1st trim correction=Corrected trim X 100 X LCF X TPC / LBP

Just wanted to confirm that we must add heel correction?

    • @SteeringMariners
      @SteeringMariners  หลายเดือนก่อน

In theory, the quarter mean draft does take care of the heel correction. But the surveyors will never ask you to ignore the heel correction (subject of discussion between theory and practice).

    FWD P + FWD S ÷2 IS FWD MEAN
    MID P + MID S ÷ 2 IS MID MEAN
    AFT P + AFT S ÷ 2 IS AFT MEAN
IF FWD DRAFT CORRECTION IS - THEN -0.003
IF MID DRAFT CORRECTION IS - THEN -0.003
IF AFT DRAFT CORRECTION IS + THEN +0.003
    0.003 IS ONLY I WRITING
    THIS IS RIGHT SIR

Quarter mean simply means the mean draft has been averaged for 4 times, its not the quarter value of mean draft.
