    "If you create a better system, the old one will become obsolete" - Russell Brand
    Russell Brand - "Perhaps we should have a look at The Venus Project"

    • @theironduke7653
      @theironduke7653 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +veganath isn't that pretty much what the Nazi's, Soviets, Chinese Communists, Khmer Rouge, and many other tyrannical groups tried to do. Those groups changed the basis of their societal and national systems; generally in that environment those who had counter-beliefs to the "new" system were systematically and brutally removed from the equation. The fact of the matter is that if systems fall so does the society upon which the previous system was built upon. You cannot have change without some sort of disagreement or open conflict, history has showed this time and time again.

    • @veganath
      @veganath 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Sertic and today ISIL comes to mind, so you are correct.
      It is interesting that in every other endeavor related to science we get to experiment & yet for social science there is a universal blanket taboo. Even the advocates for the proposed resource based economy(including myself) acknowledge that the science & implementation of The Venus Project(TVP) is easier than the molding of minds to appreciate the far reaching benefits e.g. elimination of the root cause of aberrant behavior, corruption, crime, poverty, environmental degradation, war...etc with the removal of the need for money, hierachy, etc. I'm not sure what is your understanding of the TVP proposal, as I can't do justice to it in these forums, I would simply request you to view the documentaries "Paradise or Oblivion", "Future By Design", "The Choice Is Ours" by 99 year old Jacque Fresco the visionary of "The Venus Project". Also check out "The Zeitgeist Movements" documentary "Zeitgeist Addendum"

    • @theironduke7653
      @theironduke7653 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you are talking about doesn't make very much sense. Social science "experiments", as you call them don't tend to work because everyone in that social environment has different beliefs, convictions and intentions; a paradigm shift in a social environment 99.995% of the time results in some sort of conflict between factional groups. You brought up a great example in ISIL, after the defeat of Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq just look what happened. The country traveled first from dictatorship under Sadam, then to a quasi democracy and finally spiraled into all out civil war. The Middle East is now engulfed in one of the worst bloodbaths seen since WW2. The problem is in the fact that when a social system is first destroyed and then replaced and it becomes a free-for-all type of environment between political factions fighting for power. Essentially, a social paradigm shift is a breeding ground for war, conflict and strife. History defends my position time and time again.
      As per your argument on money. Money has been part of human society for thousands of years, money is here and it always will be, plain and simple. Do you honestly think that if there was no money or hierarchy that there would be no corruption, crime, or poverty? My counter-argument to that statement is that the closest humanity has come to a state - such as the one you described, is communism. Soviet communism removed the social hierarchy and effectively removed money as an important commodity; they still had crime, corruption and poverty.
      I'm not sure why the Venus Project is considered so revolutionary and groundbreaking when every country in the world runs on resource based economies to varying degrees. Some countries have more natural resources, others have less. Countries who have less natural resources buy from those who have more of those natural resources, who then generally produce those natural resources into finished products, which they then sell back to those who's economies focuses on obtaining and trading natural resources. That is effectively how every empire on earth became powerful, because they controlled the natural resources and the industry required to produce finished goods out of the natural resources. The Venus Project essentially outlines the way world economics has worked for thousands of years; it is not a contemporary idea, it is an ancient one.

    • @veganath
      @veganath 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Josh Sertic in your assessment of TVP socioeconomic system you conclude it is an ancient one, I believe you couldn't be further of the mark it is profoundly unlike any "ism" that has gone before it, why? TECHNOLOGY.
      Have you had a chance to view the documentaries I listed by way of introduction. A guy who is 99yr old & dedicated his life time to researching & redesigning society deserves a couple of hours of our life wouldn't you say?

      +Josh Sertic wrote; "The fact of the matter is that if systems fall so does the society upon which the previous system was built upon."
      If any governing system falls could it not be that multi-cultured societies have had enough of a system that is broken? How much longer will the U.S.A. keep their current system of governing without non-violent upheavals by societies demanding the system to be changed? The "Green Revolution" is just the starting point !

    Russell Brand is definately a genius. His mind is light years ahead of where we are as a society.

    • @JazGalaxy
      @JazGalaxy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I support and appreciate Brand, but he's not quite that forward thinking. He's just someone who speaks in very broad strokes about the capacity for humanity. He's a cheerleader for humanity. That's a very good thing. But there's a difference between a Football coach and a football cheerleader. They have different roles and a responsibility to different aspects of the mission.

    • @MrMark0ur
      @MrMark0ur 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think so as well, yeah. He is a person who's changed my view on life as a whole, but I wouldn't really trust him in making decisions on a political level. While his opinions on how to change the world are refreshing and bright, they are extremely ambitious.

      In response to JazGalaxy

    • @MrMark0ur
      @MrMark0ur 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would perosnally continue by defining what Jaz means by cheerleading, and speaking in broad strokes. A cheerleaders job is, in obvious words, to cheer up a set of people commiting to a task. While a cheerleader doesn't dicectly affect the task, on a physical level, they still might affect the, for example players on the field and encourage them to do even better then they already are! When mentioning he's broad way of speaking, Jaz(in my understanding) means that Russells words produce a fundament and source of awareness, that the people then will use a stable starting point to perforn whatever task may commit to.
      Russell never really fully defines anything, and have mentioned several times in the media, like when talking to Jon Snow(the journalist), that he doesn't know exactly how he would complete a revolution, because he doesn't have the knowledge and skills to commit to a task like that. He's a professional "speaker", and he uses that skill to encourage the people pf the world.
      But that's just my understanding of Jaz's comment though x) Have nice day, Jack!

    Felt very moved by when Russell said he always wanted to be rich and then was and went to elite club full of the beautiful people and it wasn't good, it did not feed his soul. I love this man, he has had a powerful spiritual experience and wants everybody to be happy, fulfilled, full of love rejecting hate. What a quantum leap for a serial shagger, self confessed vain narcissist! He could still be shagging making millions (sure he's still well paid and getting his top notch monogamous oats) but he's on a similar mission to all the great men of peace. As a recovering alcoholic I assure you it's no ego trip, first you try and substitute with other pleasures and success, then you wake up and realise you're empty as hell and you need a real spiritual awakening or you will try and fill that hole with your drug of choice. That's what alcohol did for me before it all went a bit wonky (mega jokey understatement). Be guided by the deepest spiritual experience one can find not hate and politics. Love and peace to all.

    • @RexOrwell
      @RexOrwell 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the system isn't set up to work. The important letters in the words democracy and hypocracy are 'cracy' > car - the bus. The word government means mind control, ie. whichever political party gets in it typically does exactly what it's meant to do. Government is presented as something that'll help with positive progress, in reality it's function is to keep us stimulated, to keep us begging the animus archetype* and offloading our responsibility to change things ourselves onto big daddy. It's all theatre.
      * Which is what Russell Brand was fashioned in response to by the way. He's there to scoop up the young and impressionable. The hammer and sickle shows you he's part of the game... it's an old technique that's been used many times before.

    he is just the best when he gets it right, isnt he? did you ever notice how kids describe adults which they see alot of, like teachers, relatives, staff, etc, they will often say something along the lines of "when hes good its just wow hes reeeally good but, yeah, when hes bad hes actually so not good that hes bad" not realizing its a tautology, and more importantly applicable to literally everyone whos ever existed, but when russel gets this kind of forum to do his thing in his message comes across so clear and self evident and i just want to tattoo every word on my forehead, whereas there are other interviews and media-dos in which the baisc premise is to make him out like a shallow materialistic fraud, a sexist opportunistic thrill seeker, by a wide range of tv personalities, from a panel of violently biased hired goons on fox to really quite measured speakers on bbc. russel usually manages to come out on top of these situations, despite the show being orchestrated to crush him, the host and crowd, camera angles, and editing, which is no mean feat, and this is apart from his eloquence and incredible charm mainly because simple bullying will never defeat the message russel means to convey. he doesnt always get it right, like when he protested in banks round england and only managed to disrupt regular peoples lives or when he partied with the boss of topshop but i have written waaay to many words now and i think you know what im saying, if i did swing that way, id be shit gay for russel, but as it is im going to have to settle for calling him messianic

      What defines a hero apart from being willing to die for what you believe in? That's subjective at best. Depends on the cause and who's talking. To some, the hijackers that flew into the twin towers were heros, to others, the soldiers that die in various wars across the world, on each and every side. Agh! It's hurtful to let go of yourself for that's all you have been taught to be, either negative or positive - how can you let them go for that's all you are. Wouldn't you miss yourself? That's all that emotions do! We are a hardwired program, making everyone rich and enslaving ourselves because rich people nowdays have a greater source than a "sword". They have the power of mind which is far more stronger then any sword has ever been. Call Russell a lunatic now!!! Awakening doesn't mean someone got crazy, it means someone actually realized that we are not who we were programed by social consciousness. It means seeing and feeling higher then your installed neurons.
    Waking up is the rarest gift one can experience. So, trust me you won't miss yourslef once positive/negative are combined with a higher truth.

    Tony Blair: has he improved anything for his country and ppl? (just asking)
    Nelson Mandela: an icon for those looking for heroes (it's their right to look for a hero, of course).
    Bush? I wonder why ppl elected him. Oh wow!
    Gandhi: same as Mandela
    Obama: good intentions, but not much coming out of it.
    Prince George: who the heck is that? Why even bring the name up?
    The Royal family? Do ppl still believe in that sort of thing?
    God? Well said.
    Religion? We don't need it. It's simply a complication to the human mind.
    Politicians? We elect them. So, maybe we should blame ourselves instead of them. Maybe we should take a closer look at ourselves and what we're doing, what we're projecting about ourselves out there that we keep electing these representatives.
    Palestinian /Israel conflict? It's their problem.
    The Media? We give them power.
    Russell, of course you're a sexist.

      everything in your comment i agree with except, Russell is not sexist. He believes in absolute equality for both sexes. The only reason why people think he's sexist is because of his past with women which basically included fucking left right and centre, no commitment. That doesn't make him a sexist, all that proves is he likes sex. If i (i'm a girl) started going around like a slag would people call me sexist? Probably not. There you go, there's one insight into inequality. I think the best word to describe him would be a 'man slut' lol

      I think you should re-watch you seem to have missed a little bit. Particularly politicians blame ourselves? He's pretty much saying the exact opposite.
