    The world is not used to a man of your integrity and honesty. That is why your channel sticks out from among the rest. You have already proven how open and truthful you are as I watch you and your children should be very proud of you. I also know you were not looking for these kinds of comments, but you deserve them.

    This reminds me of years ago when traveling salesmen used to go door to door around the country, demonstrating their wares. One such ware was a vacuum sweeper, which in the hands of the salesman worked beautifully, had great suction, and had various cleaning tools that seemed to work fantastically. They didn't sell you their demonstrator; instead you got a "brand new" one in a box. But the catch then appeared after the salesman left, traveling back to wherever he came from states away.
    But the vacuum sweeper in the box was not the same quality as the demo, and it did not do the cleaning jobs to the same standard as the demo, etc. Mama said the sweeper didn't even have the same heavy and substantial feel that the demo one had when the salesman had invited her to use his to see how it worked.
    I can remember my aunties and my mother's distress when they realized they had paid out good hard-earned money they could ill afford to lose for a bait & switch product.
    Your story left me wondering if something like this could be happening with some of the products being provided free to TH-cam "influencers." You guys get a good quality product for the free advertising, but the more cheaply produced products are waiting in the wings to ship out to people who are persuaded to buy the product. With all the foreign manufacturing going on with cheap labor, sometimes even slave labor, I doubt that that quality control is high on their list. They don't have to stand behind a product. When the product's reputation becomes damaged, they just move on to the next product they can cheaply produce and hype. Everything moves so fast now, products no longer have to stand the test of time and reputation like my mama's Maytag washer, for example.
    And of course, all influencers do not feel the same as you do about having introduced a faulty product to their viewers. They easily move on to the next new shiny product. I'm sorry that this happened to you.

      I’ve often wondered something similar as these are often companies we’ve never heard of, have no idea who owns them, etc., and why is the only way we learn of them through influencers. I think you could be right.

    Dear Tim, thank you, using the words, "I'm sorry", and "I made a mistake" is almost unheard of today. As I grew up, I was told it was commendable to say you're sorry, or I won't do it again. And then follow up with a hug. We have to be so careful in today's society, integrity is so fleeting. I greatly admire your foresight and no being afraid to do the right thing in this situation.     Some companies send their quality products to TH-cam content creators, then when the orders come in, they send the duds like faulty returned items to unsuspecting customers. This happens a lot with wigs. So the blame lies with the seller not good people like this honest gent here. I really like him.

    I think you shouldn't take this too much to heart. When you recommend something it's ok to say your own experience has been positive but the viewer should do his/her own research. However, getting good customer service nowadays is hit or miss.

    Don't beat yourself up for this, your experience has been a fair warning for others. I've just purchased a charger for car and tractor batteries which is said not to overheat. Think I'll wait a while before I recommend. Enjoy your holiday with a better product and leave this in the bin.

    Oh how I can relate. I had all new tires and tire sensors put on my vehicle. The place that did my tires, did something wrong, and when I left my car bounced all over the highway. I had to pull over to keep from having a wreck. When I drove back they tried to sell me new lug nuts!!!! before putting the tires on the right way, like they should have done to begin with and torque the existing lug nuts which are perfectly fine! HA!!!!!! Thanks for your honesty.

    Have her call her credit card company. They should refund her she needs to file a dispute. Then she should be refunded. You can call your credit card company as well since you trashed yours and file a dispute for their bad customer service. Give your card company a call

    My iPhone 14 Pro Max occasionally gets pretty warm with the magnetic charger that actually came with it. I have assumed that’s just part of the way it works. I am not worried about it.

    This video is a good example for people these days. No one admits their mistakes nor apologizes for their mistakes this day and time. And although you explain in great detail what the problem was, it was not your fault at all. It is the company who needs to admit their mistake and make it right and apologize.     Live and learn is my motto. Nice of you to apologize and reach out to the viewer. But I will say as a word of caution to all viewers that the best practice (in my opinion) is to order one product and test it out before investing too much money into several before knowing if it's really good or not. Also, read the return policy before ordering/buying something.

    I concur with what others are saying, but, I don't know, ANY tech recommendation should be taken with a grain of salt, especially realizing the variables of ultra-sensitive tech components. I do understand companies can go flakey in an instant - hard to fully monitor everything. But, again Tim - thanks for the transparency.

    Whilst I totally agree that you are obviously honest , have great integrity and are on the good side of character , you really shouldn’t be so hard on yourself . The person who this affected had to right to mention it , of course but you haven’t killed anyone . If you had purchased this item in a shop and you had recommended it to a friend , would you have done the same thing ? And offered them to pay for it ? I’m not sure you would, and you shouldn’t either . As individuals , it still up to us to do our own homework , even if it has been recommended.
    You are good , the company are bad and it’s them who should be making the apology to you both . Be kind to yourself ❤
