Hey people, before you try this at home: USE PROTECTIVE GLASSES. I just tried removing the screen and the glass shattered into microscopic particles and got into BOTH of my eyes. I had to go to the hospital where they had to rinse each eye and check it for damage. Take care of yourselves!!!
Wearing protection is very important. Tiny grains of glass will shatter and splatter all around specially if you are a beginner and have no prior experience. Eye injury is no joke. If it did happen to you, Just rinse your eyes and do not rub.
Yeah I know that now :-D Luckily, in my case there was no actual damage to my eyes. You should probably remind dumb people like me in the very beginning of the video about it, that would be very nice of you :-)

Eye damage is so scary because it can happen so fast! I had glass go into my eye fixing a smashed iPhone screen. You want to reverse time, hug your kids and take your phone to a qualified technician. I'm sure I didn't learn my lesson though.

I changed my screen to a new from a crack one and now it's not showing the Apple logo but when I did it forgot to power off the screen it shows on the computer but can't trust the iPad on the screen as it's not coming on any glue how I can fix this? I did try the old screen that was cracked but the Apple logo is not coming on.

i have an ipad air and whenever i try turning it on with just the power button or power button and home, its just a black screen with a grey line down the middle, sometimes even black and whitelines everywhere

I have a ipad air . When I plug it in it shows a battery and a small red line at the bottom of the battery . When I unplug the power cable I photo of the power connection shows up as if to say plug in the power cord . I test the cable and the charger and it charges up my other ipad so I know its not the charger or the cable .No matter how long I leave the power cable plugged in days and days it won't do any thing . It won't reboot . I was watching a movie and fell a sleep and I let the battery go completely dead ,something I never do but the first time I did now it won't come back on . I have had no problems with the battery It stays charged for a long time. So I think my battery is good . Something happened because I let it go completely dead. What do I need to do next .
I would try a new battery first, if that doesn't work, tristar IC may be the problem.
Believe it or not I changed to a shorter and heaver gauge wire cable and that did the trick . The thinner and longer cable I guess just wasn't giving the completely dead battery enough juice to start it charging . The thicker cable started it charging right away . Once the battery reached 40 % I switched cables again to test out the other cable and sure enough it charged up the battery the rest of the way up . So now I know if I let my battery go completely dead I have to use a short heaver cable and not the thin longer one .I learned something new .

no need to replace a new screen. just unplug battery for several seconds. But check if all sockets are connected before connecting battery. then turn on ipad.

It could be many things. Try another apple device and original cable, if it's also not recognized then it's a windows driver/setting issue. Otherwise your charging port may be bad or something more involved.

Many things can go wrong when changing an LCD for an ipad. Most common are display and backlight issues. Unfortunately no easy way to know what happened unless you start taking measurements.
