The pink sauce got even worse. A company in America made it for her and collabed with her. Gave her a very generous fee and she blew through it and asked for more, which they obliged and paid more early. She got greedy even though it wasn’t selling and went on a social media rant and the company dropped her. She’s just brought out blue sauce but everyone hates her as she is greedy, rude, lies and has burnt all her bridges. She had such an amazing opportunity and blew it.
That whole case was fascinating to me. You could see from the beginning that this person is just a loud, screechy, annoying grifter with zero knowledge or care shown towards food. The amount of people who were willing to give her the time of day is still wild to me as a thing that actually happened.

I think the problem with the pink sauce is that the original sauce uses freeze-dried dragonfruit, while the fresh stuff adds a lot more water (which is why it’s runny in the video you showed and when you tried it)
isnt that the thing that got into a kerfuffle about it arriving at stores absolutely rancid, and not being entirely safe for human consumption basically from the getgo (the original not homemade stuff)

For an actually good pink sauce, grate and sauté some beetroot, make a mornay with a reasonably strong cheese (maybe an aged cheddar or a smoked gouda) and mix the two thoroughly. Blend after if desired. Goes great on pasta or chips.

It's always interesting to experience how a different culture uses an ingredient in a way that's different than what you're used to. I grew up in Mexico, so avocados are only savory, but I have a Filipino friend, and he had me try an avocado milkshake, and it was amazing. I had a similar experience with tamarind; in Mexico, it's only used for sweets, but I had Indian food where it was used for a savory chutney, and again, it was very good.
In Poppy's defense I had the same problem when I first started watching Sorted. Took me a few episodes to work out who Spaf was and that Ben wasn't actually named Ebbers

She debunks the botulism fears and even manages to make a decent replica of pink sauce that doesn’t just use already-flavored things like ranch dressing. She shows that you can make an emulsion with dragonfruit and oil, which is pretty cool, and also means you don’t have to add mayonnaise for body/texture.
