So nice how Tom is also so interested in the hosts and asks genuine questions instead of it just being about him. The conversation flows so nicely and it really seems like they are friends having a dinner together.
As someone in recovery I am so glad to see a younger person acknowledge that life doesnt have to exist around alcohol. I hope he can be an inspiration to those suffering or maybe re-evaluate their relationship with alcohol.
I'm also in recovery (though not for alcohol) and so was worried when I saw the glass in front of him. Was relieved when they began talking about it being non-alcoholic. And I love the frank discussion about being in recovery. Good for him! I honestly wish him the best. And to you as well.
Even beyond the alcohol... at a time when young men seem to be so angry and toxic - influenced by the online "manosphere" - Tom is SUCH a great example to follow.
absolutely. and it seems to obvious that he should be taking on british roles rather than more american blockbuster stuff in addition to spiderman. his charm is irresistible when his britishness is peak
Didn't Tom say that he struggled with a massive Alcohol addiction a couple years ago or so? It's odd seeing him drink beer then, that would be a absolute no go for any recovering alcoholic. Not a critic on his Person, i'm just wondering because that was the first thing i noticed in the vid.
I intended to skim through this interview and just watch snippets. I ended up watching the entire 45 minutes. Tom Holland never fails to impress me as just a lovely human being.
17:58 'wHeRe ArE tHe PiGs In BlAnKeTs? They're in the oven, black, alright?' and then the title card saying "Sticky pigs in blankets (slightly overcooked)", pleaseeee I cackled so much at that 😆😆😆

Me too but I thought it was the original Tom Holland that I sometimes see in Brixton, not the young film actor. Apparently the original Tom Holland was once sent a cheque intended for the young one. I would have cashed it!
I just loved the moment Angela admitted to burning the pigs in blankets...everybody has an issue once in a while and the fact that she's not a perfect chef every time makes me like her even more.
Respect to the producers of this podcast who decided to not cut that part out and allow us listeners/viewers to appear the humor in her having burned the pigs in a blanket. I think the realness of Nick and Angela is what makes this podcast so great.
I’m busy in the kitchen baking. Three of my kids ranging from 9 to 25 years old all stuck their head round the kitchen door asking “is that Tom Holland?” 😊
I've just watched the whole video and let me say something. I dont really follow Tom's career, I don't watch his interviews, but obviously have heard about him. It's refreshing to see a young successful actor, who is likable, can hold a conversation and doesn't seem pretentious and has right mindset (no alcohol, having good relationships with family, keeping his private life private). It probably shows how great his parents and the people around him are, because we hear many stories about children stars in the industry whose lives and careers aren't as stable as Tom's. Great podcast!
I've never seen Spiderman. I only saw the tsunami movie he was in - but just like him based on that one movie I saw, his interviews and Lip Sync Battle.
As a Brit living in the USA this is absolutely my favorite show. Love Nick Grimshaw and his banter. Guests are fabulous and ones I have kept up with since being in the USA!
My feelings exactly! Such a lovely person. I respect so much that he understands that he is a famous public figure, but you can tell he doesn't really embrace to whole idea of being a celebrity. It really is quite refreshing to see someone of his age and his stature be so down to earth.
You know most corporate run podcasts tend to fall flat, and come across as a bit over cooked (please forgive the pun), but I have to say Waitrose has really knocked it out of the park with this podcast. Yes it's short, but it's also refreshing and fun so take my sub.
Its watchable because they plug waitrose but its not too excessive. Same with the guests, they might be there to plug something but its in your face every second. And its just a nice convo
This podcast really bridges the gap between American and US culture. I can understand most of the cultural references as they tend to be food-related. It's kind of like learning Italian language and finding it easier if you know alot of food terms
IMO, they really chose their hosts very well. Angela is obviously an excellent cook but her personality is so endearing and laid back. Paired with Nick’s years of experience as radio DJ that keeps the guests engaged while waiting for the food. The podcast just feels like a dinner party we’re all invited to.
I don't live in the UK, have never been to a Waitrose (I think), but I really wanna go to sheet what the hype is about 😂😂 I imagine it's a fancy, pricey store where you can get absolutely everything, especially anything more specific that you can't find in a normal store (like rabbits hearts or stuff like that 😅)
As a Brit living abroad for the first time ever, this episode - and the banter between Nick, Angela and Tom - made me miss Christmas in England! Honestly, no where in the world does Christmas like the UK.
29:13 if anyone who is new to Tom Holland or haven't seen his performance of Umbrella at the Lip Sync Battle... I highly recommend watching it. One of the best performances and he just eats it, it's a shame that he might not do it nowadays because of how the public is because we would be robbed of an amazing performance.
As someone who’s from the Netherlands, I always find our TV personalities a bit awkward and dry. The Americans I find a bit obnoxious and too social, but Brits are just the perfect balance😂 no awkwardness, nice real conversation, good humour. Well done

11:20 Tom's story about his family's dinner table being a place for everyone to speak up explains so so much about his Niceness, and Interest in Other People ❤❤❤ He is nice because he's confident and comfortable, and his parents' seen to see each child as a whole person. ❤ "My girlfriend" is so normal to say! The amount of charm this show has on any given time is bollocs, but I think Tom adds like a cosmic sailor moon type of charm I'm just beside myself, possibly my favourite episode ever

He's so charming and normal despite his massive fame. I really like all your episodes but this was particularly enjoyable. I think because of Ang's honesty that sometimes even Michelin star chefs make errors and the fact the three of you seemed to have such comfortable conversation.
