Does the messenger strap fold inside the foldie when the bag is folded up? It seems that they just set the messenger strap aside after removing it. The strap is then just loose?

Actually I'd RATHER see how much stuff fits in the bag. Who cares how you fold it up when its empty?
I'm not traveling via airplane until April 2025. In the meantime, I'm thinking about using in as a gym bag. Are light 3 lb weights doable?

I detach the messenger strap, place the strap inside the bag, and then fold it up.
I placed the strap inside the outer zipper compartment to store.

It’s not easy to fold it down to a little square at all!!!!
