  • Michelle- Hand and Upper Limb expert for Virtual Hand Care- shares her own post operative shoulder lipoma surgery recovery. You will be the first to see what her post operative incision looks like. She is 2 days post op from her shoulder lipoma excision surgery and now able to remove her own surgical dressings.
Learn how to safely remove shoulder surgery post operative dressings. She does have steri strips and won't be removing them since those are holding the incision together. Don't want to take those off too soon!
She hopes this video will help you understand what the pre and post operative surgical experience may be like for you if you are having a shoulder surgery.

My husband had a lipoma removed a couple days ago. It's time to change the bandage so thank you for walking us through the process. He can't reach the area on his back so I'll be assisting but don't have a medical background.

@@VirtualHandCare fingers crossed!! I was beginning to look like a hunch back because dr's didn't want to deal with since I was not in pain. Got it removed in January. Took a while to recover 😁

Actually you miss it’s actually the residuals you know those things that make the bandage sticky today I removed it it came out easily. I removed the rest and then in my parents removed it with the tissues and I’m a Muslim I’m from Pakistan.

I had my lipoma at my back(right shoulder blade) removed 2 days ago. When I removed the dressing I was shocked with the result which I never expect, it was horrible sutures & stitches, and he made the excision too long and my lipoma is rounded, he excised too far. I don't know if the plastic Surgeon is new or he let the internship do it because he used general anesthesia, it was terrible if I could show a picture here I will do it. I was so frustrated and upset I did not even sleep last night thinking about it. I worked as a surgical nurse before, I assisted surgeons doing surgical(suturing)procedures and I've never seen stitches like what this surgeon did to me, it was a nightmare experienced I couldn't forget. This doctor is not my choice actually, it was referred by a dermatology. I have a prospect surgeon and they just give this plastic surgeon to me. I realized here in US, it's not the client who will choose her/his doctor it's whom they want.

What was the general anaesthesia like? Scary?

    • @Bfair123

@@makevet6531 General anesthesia will totally put you into sleep so you don't know what is happening around you, scary of course specially if you have other chronic illness because it will affect your other organs(heart, lungs, muscles etc.)
