Me too. We can then compare how well Tim does...and it is often quite well. But for those of us millennial or abroad, or those like me who are both millennial and abroad, who have know idea what Columbo is - a comparison is useful...and funnier, I think.
This episode caused me to need counsrlling. Mr Spcock kills Altaire, then wants to kill Grandpa Walton. I mean it's pop culture overload. It was fortunate that Columbo turned it into a Mission impossible for the dastardly Doctor. The grew detective had it all sewn up by the end.
I hope this is taken in the spirit of the exercise: From 0:24 the cuts between the shots break the 180° rule (which says that setting the camera ACROSS different sides of an imaginary line drawn between the characters will break the illusion of a common space). I had to check out the original to compare. It’s interesting to see the impact of breaking this rule. In the original, these cuts give the illusion that we are witnessing the characters talking to each other, whereas this is a not as convincing. Regardless, great fun!
I struggle getting the characters to look in the correct direction. It’s very confusing. But yes you’re right, I have as the saying goes…crossed the line here.
