Girl, you’re not gonna believe how I got my hair blonde and I wasn’t even trying to get it blonde. I was just removing my hair color and it turned blonde. So I just went with it.! I went and put a 7Aand a Demi color on my roots and the rest. I put a toner on it! I’m naturally a dirty blonde anyway. I’m the colorist st the salon so it’s all good! For your hair, I would go with the balayage since it’s close to Summer.

ALWAYS!! ALWAYS!!!! Confirm CC information for a new client guys, I had someone last Friday book an appointment with me I did her hair Half head foil w/ lowlights and toner!!!!!! I also even did a haircut. I am located in Florida and this lady gave the name Tara Orman (which was a fake name!) Also she gave a fake number, but she pretended that her "husband" was bringing her food and she ran out the salon with wet hair after her service! All that time, money, and product wasted. Definitely a lesson learned for all of us at the salon. 😑😑😑😭😭

@@styledbysamvay I appreciate that, I knowww some people just suck!!! I was so disappointed in myself because I always confirm all these details but it was a busy day and I didn’t book her the receptionist did last minute so all around it was a bad time! I did file a police report but my boss won’t give the camera footage to the Sheriff in charge of the case!! She’s acting shady saying to take this as a learning lesson, we don’t have a real name, or number yadda yadda. So she basically doesn’t care she just wants me to be quiet and move on. She said she’s long gone… (I believe the cameras weren’t working, so there isn’t footage even if she did want to give it the cop …). I work at an Aveda so you would think she would be more professional and caring about her workers but that’s a whole other story! SMH 🤦🏽♀️

IMHO id prefer brown..just my input :) must be diff in the U.S..here in Canada we dont have to give our cc ...what they do at least the salon i go to..if u dont show up..the Next time u go in..they May charge u but usually they dont 🤷♀️
Hmm, interesting. I guess it depends on how each salon operates. Here, it's very common for places to either hold a card on file or take a deposit ahead of time. We're often blocking out 3-4 hours per appointment when it's a highlight/balayage/full color type of thing, and not everyone likes to double book (myself included). So if the client decides to not show up, half of your day is completely wasted and now you just aren't making any money during that time. Meanwhile, if they would have canceled or rescheduled within an appropriate time frame, you could have found another client to take that appointment or just rearranged your day. It's really shitty for anyone, but then imagine the stylists who are parents and need to arrange and pay for child care to go to work... now you did all that, and your client doesn't even show up. That's why we do it, as insurance for ourselves. And we could make them pay a fee the next time they come in, but what if they never come back? It's usually not the loyal, honest, responsible clients that are just no-showing for no valid reason, you know? It's usually the new people that have no intention of coming back or paying for the time they wasted.

How do you feel about those split end tools that only cut the hair that frayed ? Well for wavey hair anyways .. do you think dusting from root to tip is safe for hair with bends? My hair is finally longer but definitely have some fly aways that need some attention so I'm curious what your opinion on those tools are? Idk what it's called but it looks like a straightener and dusts the split ends off.. or if its better to just trim every 6 to 8 weeks till its in better shape? I just dont want layers.. sorry that was a mouth full lol...also I think a summer color would be fun hope to see a how to at home if you do it 😊

I'm not familiar with the tool you're talking about, but I would be really careful with something like that. If you're noticing split ends, cut them (with sharp haircutting shears, so you don't create any further damage or splitting). But don't go overboard and cut shorter hairs unless you see a split on the ends! You're always going to have shorter hairs throughout your head, because that's new hair that needs to grow out! If you keep cutting them, they'll never grow long and you'll constantly have fly aways. Regular trims a few times a year are best! :)
@styledbysamvay I thought so .. the little fly away are more so on the bottom its the middle towards the bottom that gets a little frizzy.. I trim every 3 months . My hair is really healthy it's just the top section has some splits but don't wanna cut layers so I thought I'd ask about that tool .. but I think I'll stick with trims .. what about dusting just the section with splits do you think that's OK for wavey hair or should I just stick with trims till it's all cut off? Thanks for replying 🙂 I think that tool is called the split end mender or something like that. I'm surprised you havnt Hurd of it lol

I think it's a great option if you're committed to the color you have! It's basically like a stain, and some of them can be really difficult to remove, that's why I didn't go that route. I knew the copper wasn't going to be a long term thing for me. :)

I disagree its about holding the customer accountable when they don’t show up the service could have went to a paying customer
