- Definitely packing for the worst case scenario is best. A total game of two halves. Blissful and relatively safe to wild and hugely increased risk.

PHDesigns - Kappa Mitts
Primaloft Gold insulated mitt perfect for keeping your hands warm in cold conditions even if they get wet. Idiot loops are always a good idea when windy too. The new version has a wrist strap. I’ll be testing these all winter and I’ll pass my opinions. Thus far great!

This will definitely be my go to jacket for winter camping with… warm, ultra lightweight and small packsize👌

I often think what Blue must think when he sees his Dad seemingly talking into fresh air without another human in sight! 😃
I discovered your channel by accident, but so glad I have. I used to be an avid walker/camper until I had pancreatic cancer a few years ago, after 3 life saving operations and the removal of 3 organs I became an inward feeling, fit for nothing couch potato. Since watching your vid’s I’ve started walking again, albeit only 2-3 miles a day (which is all I can manage now) but at least I’m out enjoying the countryside again, so thank Al 👍🏻
That is awesome my friend! After dealing with life’s shit it’s sometimes hard to move and obviously you’re doing what you can and I’m sure you feel better because of it. Keep going👊
Love how your dog leads the way down and looks back to see you're OK.... he's a hero.
😂 that’s exactly what he does and just waits for me🥰
Blue is a magical dog…….not a moments trouble. He’s a legend
He definitely is ultra calm. No fuss ever with him👌
Get blue a sleeping bag.🙏
❤@@katyyeps7631
@@katyyeps7631he got a sleeping bag on his skin 24/7
So true. Beautiful Blue 💙
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around every once in a while, you could miss it." Ferris Bueller. One of my fave quotes of all time! ❤😊
Great video!
Yes a top film from my childhood 👌
Many thanks for the video, every time we see Blues face inside his sleeping bag he melts hearts x
He’s got a pretty good life🥰
Blue is so well behaved. A true companion. Beautiful video.
“Stop pissin and moaning about the past. Be in the present…” Brilliant!
😂 it’s true though😂
Great stuff
An absolutely beautiful video, Allen. From the scenery to the musical choices to the professional-quality cinematography, this video had it all. Blue is a wonderful co-star. Thank you for this awe-inspiring video.
Much appreciated my friend ☺️
Ahhhh, Blue. What a companion! A great video out in the wild outdoors, full of wellbeing and happiness with a bit of reflection. We were out before dawn today for a hike in the snow and had a flask of tea watching the birds searching out potential nest sites. We felt refreshed and heartened to start the day. We didn't see another soul out there. Perfect.
Definitely sets you up for the day getting out early. I always feel better running in the morning 😬
Bit of a wild morning but I'm glad you got the bit of peace you were after the previous night. Great to see you out together as always mate 💚🐶👊
Lovely - the look on Blues face when he was waiting for his dinner!
😂😂😂
Absolutely brilliant and Blue is a gorgeous Mutt and he loves you with a passion and you love him with a passion as well..
I really love your videos and your attitude to the GREAT OUTDOORS..
Thankyou Allen and so much appreciated..
From this awed geezer here to both of you way up high..
Thanks Phil I’m glad you appreciate my efforts☺️
What a difference a day makes, great video as usual and info about the trigonometry
Blue such a boy thank you for the effort you put in to entertain us
Yes not many know about trig points. Thanks mate👊
Blue is a brilliant wee dog ❤️
Bloody hell that's close to the edge . Another nice video Al.
I thought so too! At least he could have situated the door on the other side of the tent. Seems quite needlessly dangerous.
❤OMG a new video for Winter 2024!! Be u tee full!! U and the happy tail wagging Blue😊 and Ilearned a new word, "tithered" Best videos always😊
Yes, we all need achievements in life, big and small. Down to earth chat, with lovely photography and very enjoyable to watch.
Thanks Mike as always👊
No matter the weather, you and Blue just take it in your strides - legends!
Absolutely ace, as always Al! Thank you for introducing the word 'nithered' to my vocabulary, and for sharing such a well shot adventure with us! 😊
😂 nithered I thought was common language. It is with my family 😂
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Maybe it's a Yorkshire word? Never heard it here in the West Midlands. I'm definitely going to start using it - your language, and accent is so much nice! ☺
Don't underestimate what a powerful force Blue and you are for good mental health.
Great tent. Nothing worse than the tent flapping all round your head in a storm and not having room to cook or anything. At a push, I can manage without hot food, but no cup of tea is unthinkable . Love when you tell Blue to 'climb' and he nips to the summit while you drag yourself up lugging your back pack! Thanks for another great video, Allen.
Another good one. You’ll never get lost, Blue knows way back ❤️
Love that tent, nice to have Blue snuggle in with you
awesome video pal ,always a go to channel when i need some brain food 🍻
Another fantastic sunday evening watching you and blue ,getting out and enjoying life .
Makes the weekend complete...cheers Al, keep em coming pal👍
Cheers Mick👊
Epic trip and video as always brother! I'm glad that you got to get out there and enjoy every minute of it man 👍 Cheers!
This video’s opening is a work of art!
Enjoy your downward journey..
Leave no trace..
Stay safe on your way down the pair of you..
Get well wrapped up..
ENJOY..
Love the trig point info, learn somet every day 👍
Gosh. The was brilliant. You’re a braver person than I. 😃
Hi Al and Blue. Coniston Old Man is the only fell I've been up. Loved all the old mines. The tarn was awesome too. I've a foto of it. Hubby and I with our 2yr old climbed it. She was in a carrier on his back. 1985 that was. Love ur videos and thankyou. 😊😊
Those clear silent nights are the very best!
Hey up Al. That was a surprise in the morning. That is one of my faves,as my old fella dragged me up there as a kid and more recently dragged me up there with my son and my nephew. The old mines really so make you take a back step. They intrigue me and seeing the remains up there is just something else. Enjoyed that and it just shows how that weather can change and beed to be prepared like you were. Worth that extra weight. You tube have put a load if ads in it ruining my viewing of your awesome video. Keep up the good work Al & Blue. Atb matey😮
The mining history is so interesting. We all have it so easy now a days. The weather was definitely testing in the morning 😂
1:37 “Bollocks” - brilliant 🤩
😂
Yeah I thought I heard that ‘bollox’ too! So I played it back 5 times lmho. Best edit of the video!
Loved blue watching what you where having for dinner, it was like wot no steak!! 😂❤. Lovely video Al.
Another great video - thanks for sharing and especially the positive words. Live in the present - absolutely! :)
I think if I'd looked out of the tent in the morning and seen that view, I would have zipped up the entrance and gone back to sleep.
first, of all the vids i've watched you are the only one who, wears a hood and googles which is needed at times (as you do here.) most "brave" it out so they can be seen on their vid camara shot. i know who you are by watching so the hood and googles do not make you invisible, like on my god who is that wearing that stuff. good show old chap and dog chap. love the storm, makes you feel like you are outside (as you are) and not being a couch potato are gripping about life is. wind, snow, faithful dog can't get better then that and being warm and fed.
Well I guess it’s showing good practice as goggles can be a life saver in hailstorms. Thanks Stu👊
Loved it! I live in the Lakes but walking up Old Man of Coniston is a no no now given my knee trouble. So it's great that I can share in your adventures and see you do the stuff that I used to do a few years ago.
Keep joining us then mate and hopefully your knee gets a bit better
@BUSHMANandBLUE Cheers Alan!
As ever, just great to see you both. Thanks.
Loving the videos as always! Blue is fantastic.
Cheers from Western Australia hottest place on the planet! Love your work!
Too hot for me😂
That tent is a veritable palace there Al !! Plenty of room for the star of the show to stretch out under his foil blanket 🤣
Definitely overkill on size but makes for an easier camp😉
Hi al you always live life to the full when ever you can with the beautiful blue by your side .its so lovely to see .great video as always
So good to see you guys having a snow trip❤
Nice one as always mate, I know you love a weather challenge, keep up the good vids 🥾⛺️⛰🥦👊🏼
Another fantastic video & blue doesn't seem phased at all.
What a difference a few hours can make in the weather. Another top video Al. 🎉
Excellent video as always! we love Blue so much, sweetest boy! 💙
I remember going up the old man of Coniston a couple of times a lot of years ago seem to remember zig-zagging up it and a huge drop on the other side of the summit happy days. great video keep it up thank you.
another winner from Blue and the daft bugger
😂😂😂
Perfect! Really enjoyable 👍
Another fantastic video, thanks Al.
Your trips to Poland and Spain have seemed to have given you a boost. Loving the last 2 videos, love the interaction you both have
Blue is such a star! Good fun with a bit of challenge.
Love your positivity! Love Blue, too!
Cracking video, Al . Great to see the superstar back in action. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Hi Bushy, you always seem to go to the ‘Old Man’ a couple of weeks before we go for a little holiday. So never a chance to bump into you and the ‘Beautiful Blue’! Great footage, you do worry me when your so close to the edge! Thank you 😊❤
Have done the Old Man a few times and thouroly enjoyed it 👍 unfortunately I can't hike that far anymore so it's fantastic to see it through your eyes mate and Blue is an absolute legend 💙 Thanks
Well I’ll keep taking you out with me👍
When you look at that dog, it reminds you how we should eat less, get out more and grow our hair long.
As if by magic, a new episode appears ❤
Another quality vid 🤙... Blue is an awesome dog 💙
The views never get old. Enjoyed the video and seeing you and Blue.
Brilliant video mate you sure love your winter camping👍🍺🍺🚴
Thanks for the walk up the mountain with the beautiful blue and looking forward to the next adventure ❤ lizzy bulgaria xxx
It's so nice to see you and Blue enjoying a decent-sized tent. What a difference a day makes, though. Your videography is in a league of its own - especially on the walkout! Great job (as usual).
So close to the edge! What a beautiful night and camp!
amazing video. Your pup looks so content in the shelter.
Thank you so much Allen❤
Now then! Great video Al! I love how contented Blue is all snuggled up in his blanket, proper cozy! ☺ What did you do at 1:35 "Bollocks"? 🤣
What a contrast from your last camp. Amazing how the weather can change so drastically on the tops. I've been lucky with most of my camps being really still during the night. Loved the editing at the start. Looks like you really enjoyed this one as did Blue.
It was a great camp and the weather made pretty special. Thanks buddy 👍
Another great vlog mate, bet your looking forward to some warm sunshine soon! I remember going up there in the scouts many years ago, now going to plan a re-visit!
Thanks for your positively again 👍
Definitely get back for a hike. 👍👍👍
Blue is an outstanding dag. :)
Lovely weather I would rather snow etc than hot
ALLEN, Have enjoyed your, recordings, much over the years. Been a ornamental gardener, well happy with life. 2005 ,went down with a stroke, My life, pretty died then, Been living on shoe string since, As we all getting older, with restricted movement. My activity is restricted, too lose you. will be a shit,
Love your videos and blue with his little bags he was carrying 🎉
Glad you got a decent tent.
My happy place 😍whenever I’m feeling bla in life l just climb the old man and everything’s just sorted cracking video pal just watching you climb the old man puts a smile on my face thank you. 👍👌
That’s a great way to feel better. Everyone should have a similar positive uplift👊
Enjoyed it immensely 😁
Great photography as always
Brilliant video of a great camp out 👌🏻
love these videos !
I'm glad Blue's got traction control 😊
Cracking video Allen.😊
With regard to daft places to camp, a polar explorer pitched their tent, used their pee bottle. When they emptied it, they realised by the lack of sound that they had camped on a bridge over a crevace. They reconned that if it was gonna collapse , would have done so already, and too knackered to move, so stayed put.
You use quite a few tents, what is your favourite winter tent?
By the way , don't let it go to your head ,but mum recons you are handsome ( she is 82).
😂😂😂 I love your mum. My favourite all rounders are the abisko lite 1 and 2 from fjallraven.
Great video... I used to go up the Old Man via the Walna scar road and then Goats water and up... Park just on the fell. Coming down I used to aim straight for the car park just skirting the quarry workings. One of the best places in the Lakes. Saved me from going mad.
There are a few good paths in that area. A great set of fells😉👌
👍 great video!
Fabulous watch 👀👀 Allen and Blue ❤
Epic conditions for a night in the tent. Nice one 👌
Great photography as always. Be safe my friend
Every video is better than the last. Keep up the quality work.
Haven't seen your videos for a long time. As not been watching youtube wild camp videos. I can't believe you only have so little subscribers. In my view, yours is one of the best channels on the tube. Good to see you both still out there enjoying yourself.
Thanks mate. If people share my channel it will help but I’m on a solid trajectory 😉👍
Love the video Allen
Love what you do Al, Blues a top dog, would love to see both of you doing the Cape wrath trail soon, happy adventures!!
Great video thanks, tell Blue thanks too ❤️
You have now gained a new sub , I only watch two other you tubers for hiking and camping trips and both of them have gorgeous furbaby companions 👍👍.
every single video is wonderful I watch it with desire and interest😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you I do try my best☺️
Love hearing your accent. My mum was a Yorkshire lass, but I never heard her say 'nithered'. Had to look it up. What a cracking word. And what stunning views on the way up and you had it completely to yourself, so wonderful. Don't know how you cope with the cold though. Brrrr Baltic!
. My mum, Allen’s gran used the word “nithered” she was born in Boroughbridge near York, when we had proper winters !!
@@maggiebush9846 My mum lived in Norfolk from her late 20s until she died but kept her strong Yorkshire accent. She once went into a pub and asked for "a coke to take away" and had to keep repeating it to the bar staff, who eventually, very confused, put a cork on the bar in front of her! 😅😅
Love it thanks for sharing 😂
I saw that one video where you were on the mountain in the driving blizzard, and had a river of melted ice in the tent the next morning. Your dog still went along, but even HE had the weary look while in the tent. He was not worried, but the winds battering the tent kinda ruined any idea of a peaceful night. So camping trips like THIS ONE certainly seem different, and film differently. Both you guys seem like you are enjoying it far more.
