What a great video of the old Guard. You were close enough to capture the individuals. Great music! What is the tune at 2:20? I'm getting old and some of the titles are drifting away.
DCI people, thinks that activities have to evolve and change over time. I compliment Fife and Drum Corps. I stand by the history, and all the standards that Fife and Drum Corps. Unlike what DC I has has done to what was one great activity. They took away the American flag, they no longer wear uniforms they are wearing leotards kind of feminine, I no longer have real drummers or real Bugler's, but they have piano players electric ovens electric guitars slide trombones. All sorts of instruments in the pit. Absolutely nothing, that could represent a real drum and bugle Corps. They turned it into a marching band competition, superimposed on the three ring circus. They killed our history, for the sake of a few dollars for a select few. We need to bring back Real Drum and bugle Corps. I tried myself along with the help of John Dowling, may he rest in peace, back in 1992. But we received negative comments constantly from Suncoast sound saying those old guys they don't know anything about Drum Corps. Consequently we never enrolled, only one, who was the drummer but not a single brass player. We ended up, closing the doors in 1993. However we did you a few parades exhibitions and dedication. I love , Fife and Drum Corps. I had a hand injury when I was competing, with the Floyd Bennett golden eagles from Brooklyn New York, I was a snare drummer, I competed in 1960 and 1961, then early in the season, around March I had an injury to my hand right hand and arm. No longer able to compete on a competitive level. I've always wanted to order the cooperman rope drum. I still have the catalog and the ordering sheet. From time to time I still think about ordering it even though I would not be able to play it. Today is January 26th 2023. And thank you so much for posting this clip

Why are there mostly women fifers in the Old Guard???
This isn't the Old Guards full compliment of musicians in this particular performance. They have many more musicians as well as 3 drum majors.
could do without the horns.
