  • Completing an oil change on a 2003 Suzuki DRZ125l. This is one of the easiest oil changes to do. You only need 1 quart of 10w40 oil and a filter.
    Tools required
    10mm socket
    21mm socket
    I also use a torque wrench on the drain bolt. 20.5 lb-ft
    Thank you to ‪@Foxcanfixit‬ for this tip about removing the oil cap with the handle of the pliers.

    This was great! I know zero about bikes so the basics are always good to see. And that plier trick is neat too 🙌

      As soon as I saw your video I was looking forward to using that trick. Didn’t realize I’d get to use it so soon.

    what do you do if you unscrewed the other bolt, because it seems like the end of the world

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      It may seem like it but it's not the end of the world. Just put everything back in the way it came out and you'll be fine. Check the parts diagram or service manual for the proper order of reassembly. You got this

    i unscrewed the wrong bolt but i don’t know how to put the spring and other bolt back in

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s not a big deal. Check your service manual or look up a parts diagram online. You can just it back in the way it came out and you should be good to go.

      Not sure if its stated in the video or not. I used a KN-132 on this bike.

    Hi can you send me the link where you got the street tires for the 125

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The rims were on the bike when I got it. They are excel rims (17 in) and you can find them online. The tire are front tires off of a supermoto bike. It had gp125 slicks when I bought it. They fit a 120/70/17 tire

    I have a 2006 125 and just put a piston and rings in it and it smokes is that normal and a metal sound after I run it for a few minutes. Can that be a bad oil filter

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      You may have a little smoke on first start after replacing the pistons and rings, Should go away pretty quick though. I'm not sure what the metal sound is it could be a number of things. Mine doesn't do that.

    I used 10w40 car oil is it ok?

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      I depends on the brand. Motorcycles have wet clutches so most car oils will make the clutch switch.

    you forgot to mention there's a metal screen behind the cover where the drain bolt goes its good practice to clean it

    • @patrickwilliams9611
      @patrickwilliams9611 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oil filter bolts do have torque settings. you being a mechanic should know them theres nm/ft pounds chart for different pitch thread and size bolt or look in the bikes manual. but usualy 7-10nms is enough or simply snug them up german tight lol

    • @113Cycles
      @113Cycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      i completely forgot to check for the screen. Great point.
