As someone who suffered from extremely extremely uncomfortable periods. Causing extreme cramping, heavy heavy flows, back aches, terrible ache, gassy, bloating, everything. And had previously going through a miscarriage. I needed a really good BC. After being on the pill for atleast a year and it not really helping with any of my symptoms. I turned to the shot and it has been the best choice I've made. I lightly lightly bled for probably about 1.5 months requiring me to wear a liner for that time but after I've been amazing since! Although the shot IS NOT for everyone. It has helped me so much! The pain of one shot once every 3 months is worth (for me at least) me.
I agree 100%. It worked well for me to lessen my pain a lot because of not having a period on it, and I know it has worked for others as well. So happy to hear it's worked for you too! :)
I hate the depo ! I took three shots and I was miserable. I was very depressed , gained twenty pounds, and had constant headaches. I am now on the birth control pills and have had no side effects. I am even losing weight with the pill, and my acne has vanished! It really just depends on person, dont be afraid to try new methods
Leslie Perez hey Leslie! Thank you so much for your insight. I am on depo but after hearing the negative reviews I want to switch to the pill! Which one are you on?
Leslie Perez I only had 2 shots. I gained 40 pounds. There was constant on and off bleeding, symptoms of pregnancy without being pregnant, and severe headaches in the face and head. My family pressured me to take it when I told them I was active with my boyfriend, and I’m 15. My doctor didn’t tell me about bone density. Since I had the first one, my joints especially my hips, have been in pain without stop. Depo provera was exhausting and I would never wish it on anyone.
I hope you are able to find a endometriosis specialist that can help you soon! I also have endometriosis, adenomyosis and adhesions as well and I go to a endometriosis specialist and he has been able to help get out all my endometriosis but now I am having major issues with scar tissue and adhesions. I haven't ever tried Depo Provera but I am glad it is helping stopping your periods! Thank you for making this video, your such an inspiration to me! :)
Aww, thank you! You're so sweet! I really appreciate your kindness and support! :) I'm so sorry to hear that you struggle with the same things, I know how painful it all is. I hope that your doctor can help you better in some way soon. You're not alone and I will be praying for you!
Hi! I'm 22 and I've been on Depo for a little over a year now because I have a blood disorder that causes me to bleed and not stop, and on top of my severe ulcerative colitis that's a lot of blood loss! So I have to stay on the shot and not get a period so I don't bleed continuously. I've been in a colitis flare for 2 years and currently I've been in bed and trying to make myself go out once a week but I'm so fatigued and in pain it's hard. I've been watching all your videos and they are so encouraging. Thank you for being so awesome!
"Trust in the Lord with all your ❤️" I can't help but feel like if people would take that advice when it comes to their health/fertility, we wouldn't have to be so worried about all these side effects...
The only side effects I've been receiving with my depo has been weight gain (though even that I'm not entirely certain considering my sedentary lifestyle and my metabolism has been slowing down even before I began the shot) and spotting. Seeing all the horror stories online has gotten me second guessing whether I should keep taking it since the weight gain has so far been a bit of a deal breaker, and I'd rather not gain any more. At least your video has provided some comfort that it CAN work for people, and I've been otherwise liking depo so far. I just hope I find some way to lose some weight. ^^'
You are right, there is a lot of negative stories online about Depo Provera, which is why I wanted to make this video to help comfort those who might want to hear a different perspective. Ultimately everyone is different and not every medication is right for everyone. It's all about making sure it's right for you! :)
Alice Ah daughter gained 35 lbs 2 months and abdominal pain, headaches, bone aches. she's done and it didn't regulate cycle after all that. a loving concerned mom. Tori
Hi kelly God bless you! I found your video today.I was on the depo-provera shots for the pain and control of my periods when I was in my late 20s early 30s for 2yrs. I didn't have periods for 2 years. I was fine until they told me they wanted to do a bone density test and they said they have found out that the depo-provera shots causes bone density so they stopped the shots! I was diagnosed with bone density / osteopenia the beginning signs of osteoporosis because of the depo-provera injections. Something they said they didn't know until it was to late. I am 55 years old now and have a lot of chronic Illnesses. Fibromyalgia, raynauds arthritis ,IBS, Interstitial cystitis,Pfd,degenerative arthritis in my back and now nerothopy in my hands and feet :( ! I live alone and struggling. My faith in God is keeping me alive knowing he Loves me and has a good plan for me!! I will continue to endure the pain and Trust God. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! And I will pray for you !
if you need a pain killer that works really well for people that is natural and not addictive is CBD oil. you can put it under your tounge or just put it in any drink. if you look it up, it is an expensive option but its natural and works
+Cyndy Bennett Hopefully I can see a specialist in the next few months and be able to figure more out. Thank you so much for watching, I'm so glad that I've been able to help you through my videos. :) That means a lot.
I love the depo shot. Due to the potential bone loss though my doctor is suggesting the nexplanon. I'm nervous. I have no period, no spotting, no acne etc from the depo. I'm hearing with the nexplanon I could gain weight, bleeding, acne etc.... I am nervous :/ I can't do no birth control though because like you, just terrible periods. Can't do it.
First time around on depo was amazing, no periods for a hole year, i stoped to have my daughter she is 8 months now, and 9 weeks after birth i went on it, and all ive done is bleed for 6 months now 😪 its horrible im hoping it settles. Its really messing up my sex life, and depression is horrible too
I’ve been on depo provera for 13 years I’m currently on my last month on it and quitting I’m 28 And been on it since I was 15, haven’t had a period since... I’m anxious to see how my body will react to not being on it anymore since I’ve been on it for a loooooong time.
Can you pls tell me if u got your period when you stopped I'm 21 with two kids so I Wana be on it for a few years but they say if your period don't come back sometimes
Currently on depo and I hate it.. been on it for nearly 6 months and I've been bleeding on and off constantly it's horrible and I hate it, it's definitely made me more depressed as well I do not recommend although everybody is different.. Getting the implant inserted in October
Georgia Rogers omg I’ve been bleeding a lot randomly, literally like sometimes it will be light af sometimes it’s like a normal period. And it just hasn’t stopped for a really long time. I think the longest Time I haven’t bled was a month
I use it for 1 yr and I still got pain some times also add pain to my body specially hands and a bit of swelling on my hands. I’m feeling more heat and sweat 😓 than ussual but I need the depo to treat anemia so it work save me from remove my uterus because I’m a primary care giver of a family member and I don’t have no one to help me with her and my pets if I decide to operate. So it help me to stop my anemia for my non stop menstruation (1 yr)
I was getting the depo-provera injections for 2 years. I was told they found out that they cause bone density. They did a bone density test on me in 2003 and said I have bone density and was diagnosed with osteopania beginning sign of osteoporosis :(. They told me they did not know this about the depo-provera until my last injection. In the 2 years I was on it I had no periods, cramps and gained no weight which at the time was wonderful. ..... but wish I had known. Did your doctor say anything to you about this down side to the depo-provera injections? Just curious.. Love your videos. Just found your channel and they give me hope. I have fibromyalgia, raynauds arthritis, Ibs,Interstitial cystitis, Pfd, degenerative arthritis in my back, osteopania, sinititis. Leaning on Jesus strength everyday to get me through every day. And NEVER GIVING UP!!
You should talk to your doctor about what was found in the last surgery because if there's that many issues with organs sticking together & all kinds of adhesions I feel like keeping them like that you'll still have problems
PrincessLuLu In my most recent videos, you'll see that I had surgery again and ended up needing a hysterectomy and some other surgical things done because of the adhesions and what else they found.
I stop my bleeding the day after my shot... but I had it 3 days before I came to the doctor and it's my first shot my first month.. and I still haven't got my period :/
+Deirdres Reborns *My daughter [along with thousands of other women] is now sterile from the depo-shot.* This product is horrid and needs to be taken off the market immediately.
Thank you for sharing this video I am in the same situation as you with period pain had laposcopy but no endometriosis was found I have tried everything to try to help relief the pain it’s so unbearable and I heard about this needle I think I will give it a go , it’s nice to not feel alone or like I’m the only person not going through the same thing xx
Is it normal to not have a period at all after having the shot? I got it when I was off my cycle and it's been about 3 weeks. I should have started my period about 2 weeks ago.. Is this okay? I hear that everyone bleeds after getting the shot.
It is normal to not get a period because of how the hormones react in your body. Though many people experience bleeding/spotting occasionally on the shot, not everyone does. It just depends on how your body is working with the medicine. If you are still concerned though don't hesitate to contact your doctor. :) I hope you are doing well and I pray for the best to come your way.
I’m 15 and on the shot. I️ just got my first shot 2 weeks ago. I’m only taking it because I️ have bad periods! I️ was so anxious to get it bc of the bad reviews. Would you recommend me to get off of it bc I’m so young?
and i've gotten so depressed and it sucks :( my acne was horrible at first and i had acne scars covered on my face and my skin was peeling of my nose in bloody layers. i don't recommend :(

Hey, I'm getting the shot tomorrow and I'm kinda psyching myself out because all's I can find online are bad reviews about it... I will be taking if for severe cramps and you said you bled for a couple months? Was it like a full blown period? or did you just bleed? And everyone seems to say that spotting is horrible, but seriously, I don't care about spotting, it happens anyways and it's better than the severe cramps I get! Haha. They get so bad that I pass out.. Do you think the shot is a good choice? I know you said it was okay, but I'm wary on it...... Please answer, it could help a lot😐☺
Personally, depo provera has helped lessen cramping pain A LOT because I don't get a real period on it. There are a lot of negative reviews but that's why I made this video; to share a different perspective. Yes I spotted for a few months, but like you said, it happens, and it's better than the SEVERE pain. Everyone is different on it, different side effects and all, but at the end of the day it has been a good choice for me and I pray it helps you the same! :)
+Kelly Patricia Thank you for responding so quick! I am so much more relieved now! People keep saying they are bleeding but it's light... For me, light is like the day after your heavy day, not heavy, but not almost gone, lol. It is a big difference from spotting and some people seem to think they are the same thing and it confuses me. Because for me, even with light bleeding, I still get cramps, but with spotting it's more of an, "Oh, welp, I need a new liner" because I don't even notice it to be truly honest! I just can't say thank you enough for responding as quick as you did, I know it's different for everyone but I almost have the same situation you had and I was just super worried it would heighten the symptoms! Thank you for responding, I feel a whole lot more relaxed now than earlier. I haven't been able to sleep because I've been so worried about it. I'm so glad I came across your video😊 It was almost like it was planned, have a great day/night! Oh, and you got a new sub😉 I like your content and you seem really nice
+Kiara Meister Awww that's so sweet! I'm so glad I could help you feel less worried about it. :) that means a lot to me! It has helped cramping pain tremendously. I do have issues that contribute to such terrible pain, like Adenomyosis, so I do still have cramping pain even while on Depo but it is a lot more controlled and less severe while on the shot. I used to be in the ER every month from painful periods and bleeding, and depo has helped me not have those big flare ups each month, so I'm very thankful for it and glad I chose to be on it! I don't have many options as it is, so it was a shot in the dark, but turned out to be a blessing. :) I hope and pray it helps lessen your pain! I know we can't necessarily get rid of all the pain, but it's always nice to get SOME relief! :) hugs! You're not alone!
+Kiara Meister *My daughter [along with thousands of other women] is now sterile from the depo-shot.* Please do more research before it's too late. See for yourself. Women are becoming sterile. This product is horrid and needs to be taken off the market immediately.
+Adam Ant I already have it and at this point I love it. I'm taking it for severe period cramps and don't plan on getting pregnant for a long time anyways.
+Kelly Patricia Ah, no good? It's supposed to bring down general inflammation (which is always good for auto-immunies like us), down regulates T cells and doesn't interact with most things so I thought it might be a helpful add on for you. Sorry it didn't help. Always Keep Fighting xx
+Chloe Clearly Yeah thank you so much for trying to help! It just didn't work well for me previously. I hope you are doing as best as you can, you're never alone! :)
Julie Reinhardt have you started bleeding yet?? Iv been on depo for a month now and I started bleeding it's been 10 days now and Iv been bleeding and spotting I hate it . I'm not going back for another shot Iv heard a lot of bad things about ot
Nexplanon makes you super skinny loss of appetite severe depression/suicidal Thoughts severe mood swings like your mad at the world w constant crying and constantly starting a Menstrual cycle I’ve had it since 2014 and I’m getting mines removed and switching to Depo Provera
#HugATH-camr. Hi, Kelly. I have adenomyosis, endometriosis among other conditions. So, to a certain extent, I feel for you. In terms of physical therapy, have you considered seeing Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Belinda Wurn who founded the Clear Passage Therapy in Gainesville, FL? They have experienced amazing success in treating endometriosis and post-surgical pain. For surgery, have you considered seeing Dr. Ken Sinervo from the Center of Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, GA? Also, have you considered going to In any case, I hope that things will work out for you. Take care. *hugs*
+Sakana McLetsbuild Thank you! I'm sorry that you have those conditions along with others as well.. it's definitely tough. I actually sent my records to Dr. Sinervo recently so I'm just waiting to hear back from him to see if he will take my case or not. I am praying he can! I've heard he's amazing, so we will see! :)
I've never had any excessive bleeding with the depo shot so to just say that most people have bleeding for a full year or for an excessive amount of time is a lie by a long shot
people who shy away from Depo Provera have done their research and know better. The aftermath of Depo besides weight gain and depression is infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Please do your research and do not tout misinformation. I'll never have the opportunity to grow a family of my own. I am 20 years in with seventeen loss. Tout your story in 20 years and see if you feel the same.

+Kiara Meister *My daughter [along with thousands of other women] is now sterile from the depo-shot.*
Please do more research before it's too late. See for yourself.
Women are becoming sterile. This product is horrid and needs to be taken off the market immediately.
+Adam Ant I already have it and at this point I love it. I'm taking it for severe period cramps and don't plan on getting pregnant for a long time anyways.
They didn't remove anything?
I have to get this soon
+Cyndy Bennett I hope it helps you in some way! :)
Have you looked into trying Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)?
Yes, I took it in the past.

On the depo shot
How are you doing with the depo ?
Hi need someone's help whoze just got one shot and off depo and got pregnant please someone help me.......!!!
I've never had any excessive bleeding with the depo shot so to just say that most people have bleeding for a full year or for an excessive amount of time is a lie by a long shot
My period went away
people who shy away from Depo Provera have done their research and know better.
The aftermath of Depo besides weight gain and depression is infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss.
Please do your research and do not tout misinformation. I'll never have the opportunity to grow a family of my own. I am 20 years in with seventeen loss.
Tout your story in 20 years and see if you feel the same.
can you get off the shot whenever you want to ??
yes
