Iv had it for a few months now... Was actually brought due to your first review of it, so thanks for that!
Did have a few algae issues at the start but have since dialled it in a bit better, the daytime colour settings i use are:
    50% red
    70% green
    5% blue
    70% white
I have sunrise at 3-4pm and sunset at 9-10pm then
    1% red
    1% green
    1% blue
Until 1am then goes off for the night
The daytime percents are actually recommended off another youtubers review, and does seem to cut down on the algae growth, give it a go mate and see how it goes!

"Fast growing stem plants like hornwort, wisteria and teardrop Rotala, to name a few, are the most effective at using nutrients and keeping algae at bay."
Seriously, since using wisteria as a floating plant I don't have an algae issue that grows on my anubias plants anymore.

It’s basically the blue “light” which dramatically increases algae grow. As others has commented, if you drop the blue light to 5 or 10 percent max you will reduce algae grow a lot.

What happens if you get a power failure? After the electricity eventually gets restored, do you need to restart the app or the lights in order to get the 24 hour cycle to work again, or do they remember their programming?

Hey sorry to hear that. Have you tried basic troubleshooting? Like uninstalling the app and trying again? It’s most likely a bug. Or you could try a different device see if that makes a difference. If none of these work it would be best to contact Fluval directly or exchange the light

Hey, nice review video. Have you used a timer with this light? Also can you have 2 cycles, in the day replicating the sun rise and sun set, as I like to see my fish before I head out to work and then see the fish when I return home.

I’m still playing around with the settings to find the right balance for my nocturnal fish, I’m currently doing 70% on everything apart from blue which is on 10%. The ideal setting for you depends on the type of fish and plants you have. Aalso I turn everything up for filming so keep in mind what you see on camera isn’t what I have everyday. Oh and the schedule is currently sunrise 11am-1pm sunset 7-9pm and moonlight is from 9-10pm

    • @ScoobzNPetz
      @ScoobzNPetz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

It depends on what kind of tank you have. For example if you have many nocturnal fish, you’d probably want to turn the lights right down, if you have plants you’ll want the lights bright. Problem with having the bright light is algae growth. Currently I’m testing out 90% red, 90% green, 10% blue and 80% white. It’s controlling the algae to an extend but it did kill off my Lily pad plant. I’m still experimenting with the lights but if I figure out the perfect balance I’ll make a video on it
