👋 Welcome to my channel where I make videos about my Fluval Roma 200, Fluval Roma 240 and my Fluval flex tropical aquariums. I put some focus on my unique fish such as my Freshwater Moray Eel, Fire Eel, Rope Fish, Ghost Knife, Snakehead and Stormii Catfish. I'm also planning to do videos about my pet Python Coco soon.
You can expect fish tank maintenance, species spotlights, rescapes, general pet care, trips to the fish shop and other videos involving this topic. I'll also film the occasional vlog when I do something interesting or go on holiday.

Iv had it for a few months now... Was actually brought due to your first review of it, so thanks for that!
Did have a few algae issues at the start but have since dialled it in a bit better, the daytime colour settings i use are:
50% red
70% green
5% blue
70% white
I have sunrise at 3-4pm and sunset at 9-10pm then
1% red
1% green
1% blue
Until 1am then goes off for the night
The daytime percents are actually recommended off another youtubers review, and does seem to cut down on the algae growth, give it a go mate and see how it goes!
Thank you!! I’m definitely going to try that out 😁
Thanks for these settings. Just bought a brand new Aquasky 2, after my old one of 5 yrs gave up on me. Have done some research on optimum light settings for maximum growth with minimal algae. Will definitely be trying out your settings... Thanks again 👍
Turn down the blue component to 30 percent to reduce algae
Turn down the blue. 10%.
I'll try that out, thank you!!
To only 10% or from the setting you have, eg from 60% to 50%?
"Fast growing stem plants like hornwort, wisteria and teardrop Rotala, to name a few, are the most effective at using nutrients and keeping algae at bay."
Seriously, since using wisteria as a floating plant I don't have an algae issue that grows on my anubias plants anymore.
Thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely think about adding some! I’m tired of fighting against this algae 😂😅
It’s basically the blue “light” which dramatically increases algae grow. As others has commented, if you drop the blue light to 5 or 10 percent max you will reduce algae grow a lot.
Thank you! Yeah I’ve put it down to 10% now, going to see how it goes 😁
@@ScoobzNPetz hello, did the algae reduce when you changed the blue light intensity?
@@Quint1975 it did a bit however my tiger lotus died off when I started playing with the light settings so I put everything back on for now. I’m gonna start experimenting again soon
@@ScoobzNPetz good luck with it, I think I'll get the fluval light, it was that or a chihiro but the chihiro is double the cost so and I ain't made of money.
@@Quint1975 the fluval light is definitely worth it, the algae is literally the only problem lol, good luck !
What happens if you get a power failure? After the electricity eventually gets restored, do you need to restart the app or the lights in order to get the 24 hour cycle to work again, or do they remember their programming?
It should be fine, never had a power failure but I’ve unplugged the light plenty of times and it always remembered the settings
I can’t seem to log into the app. I have an aquasky 2.0. I’m using the code000000. any suggestions greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Good video.
Hey sorry to hear that. Have you tried basic troubleshooting? Like uninstalling the app and trying again? It’s most likely a bug. Or you could try a different device see if that makes a difference. If none of these work it would be best to contact Fluval directly or exchange the light
@@ScoobzNPetz thanks sir, I sent them a e mail.
Try reducing the amount of RED in your light spectrum. We've had the same problem and that advice was given to us by an expert aquarist. It worked. Algae loves Red.
Thank you !! I’m going to try that right now 😁
I find the blue light is the one that causes algae
Hi there I bought the aqua sky led light...but I'm struggling to connect or upgrade. I have a 4 foot tank but struggle to change from the tubes to led can you show us the top of your tank and how it fits thanks
I believe there might be a separate attachment for tube lights. Message me on instagram @ ScoobzNPetz , I’ll be able to send you a picture there
Nice review!! I also have one if these lights on my piranha tank!! definitely had to lock in the right amount of light time to keep algae at a low!!🔥🔥🔥🔥 video
Thank you!! What light settings are you using? I’m currently testing out 10% blue light and the rest on 100
@@ScoobzNPetz im doing 100white, 25blue,10green,5red
@@MikeLovesLifeAquatics thank you I’ll try that out next! I’m struggling to find the right balance that keeps the algae away but also helps my plants grow 😅
Hey, nice review video. Have you used a timer with this light? Also can you have 2 cycles, in the day replicating the sun rise and sun set, as I like to see my fish before I head out to work and then see the fish when I return home.
Hey, yeah I have it on a timer doing exactly what you described. Sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening. It really shows you another side to your fish!
I have the same tank and run an aqua sky and a plant 3.0. I have a few otos which do a good job with algae. Tank heavily planted tbf
Oh really? Thank you! I might try get some ottos and see if they can help me 😁
hi, can you tell me the color setting you use on your tank light?
I’m still playing around with the settings to find the right balance for my nocturnal fish, I’m currently doing 70% on everything apart from blue which is on 10%. The ideal setting for you depends on the type of fish and plants you have. Aalso I turn everything up for filming so keep in mind what you see on camera isn’t what I have everyday. Oh and the schedule is currently sunrise 11am-1pm sunset 7-9pm and moonlight is from 9-10pm
Good to have the follow up video. Useful to read the comments.
Thank you!
I think it’s still worth it right ? Or do you consider to update your light one day ?
Definitely worth it! The algae is manageable
I knew you was going to mention algae growth as that's the only problem I've found. Be really interesting to see if you find the answer.
Good luck, take care.
Thank you! Yeah the algae problem is literally the only thing lol. If I do find a solution I'll post an update for sure
Any light that sits on the water surface can cause that. Just dim the lights a bit, and add floating plants.
@@sleepytasmr Did exactly that thanks mate. All fine now 👍
If you have control of blue output tone it down to 10%
Does it get hot mate?
Yeah it does, especially the light part. I should probably mention that if I do another update 😅 thanks !
@@ScoobzNPetz thanks man.
Nice video 😊
Hey
Just bought one of these after looking at your video. What light cycle settings/times would you recommend? Thank you
It depends on what kind of tank you have. For example if you have many nocturnal fish, you’d probably want to turn the lights right down, if you have plants you’ll want the lights bright. Problem with having the bright light is algae growth. Currently I’m testing out 90% red, 90% green, 10% blue and 80% white. It’s controlling the algae to an extend but it did kill off my Lily pad plant. I’m still experimenting with the lights but if I figure out the perfect balance I’ll make a video on it
