Oh, something I'd suggest doing each episode is there's a subtitle to the episode titles at the start of the ED. They're just fun to read. An example being that this episode was called "Let's Dance With Death", but the subtitle is "I'd rather boogie with that babe than dance with the Reaper."

This is extremely late and the solution is probably long gone but I thought'd I point out that episode 3 is blocked.
I finished the anime and I gotta say it was worth every second of my life.
Ashita no joe is more about the characters than the boxing so Megalo box follows the same formula

I almost cryed in the last episode...
What’s stupid is that it doesn’t make a difference if Joe has the gear or not, he was getting punched by other megalo boxers when he had the gear so it only effects his mobility. Not his protection.
Finally, the high point of the series is about to start!
Just a shame that the final of the series was quite anticlimactic.
Lex the Graceful Rival Also disappointed me
It was pretty nice. Kept you in anticipation almost till the end and was pretty wholesome. Also quite unpredictable. Granted the fight itself was pretty underwhelming compared to two last fights.
Rodmar I would normally be satisfied with such a wholesome ending but it betrayed the entire build up in the series towards this fight. So it's kind of a good but disappointing conclusion.
Ashita no joe's ending was way more sad yet satisfying at the same time
Well it isn't really that fast, most pro boxers have at least 50 fights under their belt.

I loved it. Unfortunately the end seemed a bit rushed, but still a great series.
A Place Further Than the Universe is still AOTY for me so far this year.

The only thing that keeps me from giving a 10/10 to that anime is the fact the Joe takes way too many geared punches and doesn't die.
SPOILER:
If he got completely broken by the end of the anime or if he just dodged the punches, I would be okay.
AlienBat he does take many punches which is true, but from the beginning it was known that he can take a beating, that Nanbu said the more hits he takes, the stronger he gets... might seem like plot armor but I find it pretty realistic in the sense that either he got used to the punches or he’s sucking them up because he has his goal to achieve, only problem is we have no idea how Joe got so good since it’s only 13 episodes and we couldn’t get any backstory with him
Yeah, I remember that quote from Nanbu. If they were common punches, I would be okay with that. But it's a machine punching him.. it's kinda unrealistic. He should have died on those matches or by the end of the anime. Doesn't matter how used you are, psychologically speaking, if you take a geared punch to the face.. There should be consequences.

Episodes 2 and 3 have been taken down. Don't know if you guys intend to re-upload a full reaction without the episode playing, but maybe you should do so going forward. This might just be one of those shows that gets taken down aggressively.

For everyone saying the ending was bad, (talking about the fight outcome) many didn’t read the end and thought it was a draw, however at the end of the episode there is text confirming Joe won the fight vs Yuri
