I think a lot of people overlooked the fact that Allie trusted her father . It’s clear he’s an understanding man who wants his daughter to be happy most of all .
Back in those days, it was a woman's job to raise the daughter properly and the husband focussed on working or running a business. When the daughter acts up and is disobedient, it's the mother who is failing to discipline her child and keep her under control. Husbands avoided this sort of teenage drama. He's distancing himself from it.
@@caravanlifenz That's what I was thinking. Even to this day, fathers tend to be clueless on how to handle angsty teen girls and just let the mother deal with it. I think it's just a natural part of mother/father parenting.
@@caravanlifenzI’m glad times have changed….. had I been her father I would of stood up for Allie. Noah was a wonderful young man. Just because he doesn’t come from wealth doesn’t means he’s trash. I’d support Allie in her choice, and I’d tell her mother to shut up and stop controlling her.
What her family had failed to see in Noah was a pure heart, in spite of his appearance. He had so much to offer Allie. He might be middle class, so what, he is a truly sincere, hard working person who's willing to sacrifice for the benefit of Allie and her happiness.
They were aware of all of that. That was not the mothers position. This happens in real life all of the time and its not due to the lack of having a pure heart either. There was no real middle class at that time either, he was just considered poor.
@zoefang4563 actually I would love that!! Human bowling pins basketball. And I biasely call it moonlight bowling. Take a shot everytime Mt Dew to rebas song
It's the present that's important. I really like this movie. It's great I grew up with the love of movies. I wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend during my younger days. Falling in love is "NATURAL". I have no regrets. It's great I have emphathy.
My aunt married a rich guy and he would only let her drink a Thai tea mixing with half water if they go to a restaurant in my country. And he drinks full Thai tea. People, married someone who really loves you and give you what you want.
I have known too many people with money, who live and conduct themselves like trash, to think that it's a "poor" person thing. The rich trash are the worst, because they think they aren't trash.

@@caravanlifenz We are also making children distance themselves from this drama for better or worse

I think she meant she trusted her father to cater to her emotions lol. They failed her here.
This is the best father a daughter could ever have.

Allie's mom reminds me of Rose's mom from Titanic. These two should get together and go bowling...
What does middle class have to do with anything. It's just an excuse

What is it about having money that can turn a person into a mean individual.
Her mom married for money
Exactly
She lacked the guts of doing something about her lack of patience. And she now had paid the price (no pun intended lol)
Goldigger 💍🤑💰
Same with all these women who married for money and later blamed men for their poor choice
Just realized her Dad is married to Cyndi Lauper IRL.
Oh yeah that’s the singer who made time after time my favorite 80’s song 🎧 ❤😊
