- How to root smudge and lowlight on blonde hair!
Hey everyone, thank you for tuning in! I wanted to color my mannequins hair so it has a more 'realistic' color for bridal styling. It's been a while since i've done color on someone but I was still happy with how it turned out. Let me know if you learned something from this!

This turned out beautiful! Thank you for this!!! I've been trying to get back some dimension in my platinum so this will help a lot!
This came out beautiful! The way you showed how to complete this process for this look was perfect! Showing your techniques and why is very helpful. ❤
@@SxYSantaCruz oh good! Thank you!
You're the only one that explains so good how this is done.I was so confused about where to place the low lights.Thank you I'm gonna try it,hope it turns out as good as yours.
Thank you 💕

🙂
Your technique is amazing; so talented!
I love this color so pretty I'm getting my hair done Tuesday and this is what I was wanting to get done🙂
Really beautiful! 😍
Great tips! Looks awesome 😊
WOW WELL DONE!
Hi jessica, you have to melt the root color , democation shows of the root shadow , anyway great ❤
Funny I remember when ppl would get their roots done it was to lighten or color them to match the hair lol yes I’m old af.. neutral yes with a touch of ash with the lows in there but suuuuuuuper pretty 🤩 great 😌 job! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Lol yes, there's all kinds of new trends these days. Thank you for your comment!
❤
hi, did you have to mix in a filler color along with the lowlight color? or you just used the lowlight color itself?
Question girly ❤❤
Beautiful lowlight choice! Did you say 6 warm blonde or brown? Im looking for a good low light to add in my blonde...yep i have about the mannequins color hair right now😆 its just solid like that. I love how this turned out, great job!
Warm brown! I would maybe do a level 7 if you dont want it too dark Thank you!
@@Tousledbyjess Thanks for your reply, new subscriber here, can't wait to catch up on your videos! 🤗
Very attractive.
Awesome, may i have the formula?
Gorgeous! Did you say you toned it after?
Yes!
I must have missed you saying but did you use the root colour 6 for the lowlights as well ? Xx
Yes, but I shouldve used like a 7 instead. I recommend going a little lighter on lowlights especially on super light/porous hair.
Hi please help 😭 my hair like this level 10 from 6, do you think I could put the 7 range wella illumina on as root tap without lowlights and fill? Thank you 🥰
What color sid you use for the lowlights...
Sill this work om a t18 blonde toned hair?
6nwb but on blonde you would fill with gold/orange and mix in the 6nwb
It looks really nice! Can you do a video tutorial for how to do this on ourselves? I’m very ill so I can’t go into a Salon.
Yes, I can definitely try that
@@Tousledbyjess Thank you!!!
Beautiful tones. Would you list products and colour you used please! Thankyou
Joico 6nwb demi permanent !
@@Tousledbyjess Hi! Thankyou:) much appreciated. I’m not familiar with that brand, perhaps we don’t have it in UK. Looks Great!
Do you need to fill the lowlights to avoid having them turn green?
Yes
When you wash it out how did you prevent the root smudge from bleeding into the blonde?
Put conditioner on the blonde as a barrier :)
Would be nice to see the filling process, on the lowlights and on the bleached hair…..👋😻😻😻
Great idea!!
Do you need to add a filler to hair being bleached blonde?
Yes you do! I didn't do one here cuz it's just on a mannequin and I only needed a little dimension for doing bridal styling on her. But on a client yes. The formula has warmth in it so it helps as well.
@@Tousledbyjess thank you ♥️
How long does it take to do a shadow root and lowlight?
Depends on the client/hair/texture. Shouldn't take too long maybe like 2-3 hours max with shampoo and blowdry? If you have a 10 min express color could be done in a shorter time maybe 1.5 hrs or so
How long did you leave it on?
depends on what the manufacturer recommends. On human hair probably like 20 min on average for demi/semi permanent. But always look at the instructions on the box.
@@Tousledbyjess Thank you
My stylist always does a root smudge on damp hair. I think dry will make it too harsh.
You can definitely do it wet too ! So many ways you can do it
