  • My Philips brewer suddenly stopped working. (three flashing red lights)
    Having excluded all other causes, I concluded the grinder motor was defective.
    Purchased a new one and made a small video of the replacement
    Funny enough the motor + grinder was 2 euros cheaper than just the motor at € 58
    I've been wanting to make a video for youtube for a whole while now. Up til now, I've been using YT mainly for watching, and the occasional video share.
    This is my first video ment for the public so I'm hoping it at least gets some views (any's fine)
    Also my very first Davinci Resolve project
    Have fun watching !

    WARNING! DO NOT ADD THIS SCREW! In dact i made the same mistake and added this screw afrer doing repairs and thinking it was missing. I thought i broke the grinder as coffee became more watery and consistently you would hear the grinder spin freely withought the beans falling through. Saw this video and realised the screw shouldnt be there as what are the odds we all have it missing. Turns out the free vibration of the grinder motor is that drives the beans to shake and fall freely into the grinder, so dont tie it down.

      hey mate , do when you removed this screw after your coffee came back to normal ? because I disassemble my grinder to clean it. and now the coffee isn't press properly (not enough coffee is grinded ...) have any idea?

      I added the screw and I think it transferred vibrations to the grounds shoot. The connection to the grinder broke on both sides. 😢 I agree, don't add the screw.

    Thank you for making this! My unit was getting so obnoxiously loud. I added a screw at the location you found and now it runs so much more quietly. Cheers!

    For the ones not marking the servings turning button on top and cannot find a good aligment , this worked for me : see max left and right position , set the setting in the middle of the positions , pull the knob out and set it also on the middle of the range marked on the knob , congrats you aligned it back... buy me a beer 😊

    Thank you so much. My grinder stopped working and Phillips was no help with my extended warranty only covering the Brew Group. I took it apart and clean 2.5 years worth of coffee stuck throughout the grinder. I wish there was a way to better access and maintain this part of the machine like regular espresso machines.

    That was cool. Especially the design and 3d printing of washers. Took 8 seconds! :) we should all have that in our garage. Lol

    Dear Matthias, about that missing screw. I haven't met a single machine that has it. But that printed seal is clever!

      Indeed I'd be surprised if there actually was a screw in there originally. There were no thread marks inside the hole. But somehow it felt like the right thing to do :)

      @@deblaiser I saw three of these, none of them had screws. No screws are used to avoid vibration to the body. The unit is held in place by the spring and two existing rubber seals. Can you give the link to where you bought the grinder, please?

    Thank you for this video, but do you know how to remove the big gear that adjust how fine the grinder grinds the coffee? My grinder and the funnel both broke but I can not slide the replacement funnel to its place without removing the big gear. And I can find a way to remove it, no screws etc. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the video. I plan to use O-rings instead of washers. Has anything changed in the operation of the coffee machine? Did you look inside after the repair. All is well ?

    My $7 grinder chute broke and I got a new one...problem is I can't figure out how to attach it to the grinder. I believe it is supposed to be one piece with the grinder so the grinded beans stay in to the cute and do not make a mess in and around the grinder. Anybody can help please?

    • @deblaiser
      @deblaiser  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is tricky to mount it but it's possible. It's a push/slide combination and I wrestled with it for quite some time. Unfortunately I do not have this on video and cannot really recall how exactly it mounted.

    • @oa06442
      @oa06442 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@deblaiser Thanks..I figured it out. You have to remove the black grinder wheel.(which isn't that easy) ..then the plastic chute will slide on from top to bottom. The coffee tastes much better after the grinder and chute are completely clean, although it takes at least 3 shots before it's dark enough. I might do the grinder cleaning every other month now that I know exactly how it's done.

      I call the machine "the coffee grinder" and therefore when replacing a part (the grinder+motor), I am actually repairing it. But I could see how it is easily interpreted differently. Maybe I should have said coffee machine repair
