Richard's original release of this song is the reason I even like gospel music today. As a teenager, I could not stand gospel music, and then they played this song on WVON. I've never been the same since. God bless you Richard Smallwood.

Every time I hear this song I feel the Holy Spirit spoke to me showing me the size of my God and me that despite being just dust he loves me with a love of the same size, then start to cry!
When we sing like the brothers and sisters here at Pastor Richard Smallwoods congregation, we singing like King David unto the Lord God Most High, the man after Gods own heart, i thank God Almighty 4 dis worship team, very amazing, it glorifies our Almighty God. im very thankful.

Amen, sister! You know I come from Spain, and I worked for a couple of years as a research fellow at Indiana University. I joined the African American Choral Ensemble (no kidding, and I was not the only white European there). It was an amazing experience from the musical, personal, and spiritual points of view. We sang this song. By the end of the performance I could see some of the tenors crying. Peace!

@gplus46 Yes, you're right. There is a split on the word 'Lord'. One voice has the 'D' and one is a major 2nd below on Middle C.

At 2:38 when the full choir goes into "Oh Lord," is that a split in the tenor parts? I hear the altos and a note just under the alto note and then a lower note. Or is it just me?

@PrazHymn83 I'm not sure about that particular part, but I know there are some parts where there are 4 parts sung. I just taught this to my choir from the sheet music and there are a few splits throughout the song.
