- Richard Smallwood ministers with a piano solo of the much-loved hymns "It Is Well" and "Come, Ye Disconsolate," which seques into a church-wide reprisal of "It Is Well."
This can be found on his HIT CD "Persuaded: Live In D.C."
The lady who is obviously quite touched by the piano solo is Richard's mother, the late Mabel R. Smallwood.
People who think that music is neutral and doesn't say anything need only look at the audience as the notes are being played. They know EXACTLY what is being said.
The man played with his eyes closed!! Now that is letting the spirit just simply take over. He is amazing on he piano the way he can let hit minister to your soul. A true anointing!!

If you're talking about the guitar, that's Jonathan Dubose, Jr. He's been Richard's guitarist for YEARS! Anointed is an understatement!!!!
First there was James Cleveland and then came RICHARD SMALLWOOD.
Wow!!! the imagery in the introduction is phenomenal! it's like thunder rolling!!! richard smallwood is an awesome example of excellent musicianship. his playing inspires me to improve!!!

i lost my grandfather in June and my cousin in July. this song helped me get through this rough summer.
Richard Smallwood, you are a blessing from God. Hallelujah my brother pardon my saying you are the bomb!!! It is well with my soul my brother. Songs like this is helping through the grieving process of the loss of my oldest son Michael who died a few weeks ago suddenly. He just made his 33rd birthday we think, he died within the week of his birthday. I am assured Mike is with our Lord just smiling his beautiful smile and checking out his new home in heaven.
THE TRUE & LIVING GOD BLESSED ME TO PLAY THIS SONG ON AN ORGAN, WITHOUT ANY LESSONS, MANY MANY YEARS AGO. THIS SONG MEANS SOOOOOO MUCH TO ME & MINISTERED TO ME THROUGH A SEVERE TRAGEDY.......AND, GOD LIFTED UP MY HUNG-DOWN-HEAD THROUGH THIS SONG. HALLALUJAH HALLALUJAH JESUS!
Some of us are going through challenging times - seeking employment, issues with health and our families. However, as long as we trust in God and His word, even through our tears we can say, It is well!!

If you don't have this DVD, go to your nearest store and get it. IMO, this is the best Smallwood CD to date.

I'll have to say one of the best piano players ive heard. Not to be racist or anything but i would say he is the black version of Black gospel music to Anthony burger of southern gospel. Two wonderful players and what talent our great GOD has given them. This is just great music to my ears. Thank you JESUS!

After last weeks revival at my church and coming home today from Sunday service, I could not find my CD, and this is the song I needed to hear. Thank God I was able to find it here. This was the culmination of a wonderful revival and a blessed Sunday service.

Naw....Mrs. Smallwood worked for a music company and she brought Classical music home for Richard to listen to, but she wasn't a singer.
