- I Went To The UK'S WORST Rated Theme Park! How Bad Was It?
I visited Oakwood Theme Park un Pembrokeshire, Wales where it is rated the WORST rated Theme Park on TripAdvisor!
Oakwood has lots of Thrill Rides - When they are open! such as Megafobia - a much loved wooden rollercoaster - it's just a shame there is a continued lack of investment at the park apart from the Megafobia retrack

omg for god sake its raining what would you expect!? oh yeah bounce is open in the rain! like wth? i atleast agree with you on the megaphobia being painful, i hate it when people hate on oakwood it's such a good theme park
Wasn't anything to do with the rain - you expect a lot of rides to be down everywhere in heavy rain that's fair enough but they had all major rides closed for a couple of months when all other major parks were operating - I wouldn't call Oakwood a good park myself personally they have a lot of work to do - they are on a tight budget I appreciate that and always have been but they get a lot of things wrong in my opinion - on a good note - the fireworks event they have is great, and the megafobia re-track is great news and i can't wait to check it out in the future

Such a shame. When i was a kid my parents would take me and my sisters every year. It used to be a great day out. Ive heard lots of bad things about it lately but its awful. Doesnt look safe anymore.
It looks like it will just continue to exist year on year with the minimum amount of effort needed to get by, which is a shame
Definitely. My sons school arranged an end of school trip there last July. He didn't want to go. Says a lot. If they could get a good investor it could be amazing again.

I'm glad that you're enjoying them - I went on a off peak day just before the main season so will be a different experience if you went now - the park still needs big improvements all over the park though - it's a catch 22 because that costs a lot of money
Its been improved, like VERY VERY improved after 2 months, more than like 100+ People. Megafobia is back, nothing is closed off
I know - this is not long before that happened - not much has changed apart from the rides open - Megafobia open and running great and a new paint job for Speed - let's hope the park continue with improvements year on year now because it's needed
I remember when I went to oakwood when I was small. I had only just met the height requirements for megafobia and was so excited to go on. I found it completely unrideable because of how rickety the cart was, and I was mortified that it would fall off of the track 😭 I got off the ride and had a meltdown.
The fact that there was an accident on the treetop rollercoaster recently including one of the back carts being rather wobbly and ending up with a man falling ~30ft to the ground makes me worry even more. It's safe to say that I'm a theme-park paranoid and will probably avoid Oakwood. Nice video!
Not returned yet since this last visit, but obviously, Megafobia has had the re-track work done since, so it should run a lot better now... but yes, there are a lot of improvements needed around the park
Why would you slate a park when It's in off season. when they're doing their maintenance on the rides. It would have been advertised as limited ride availability, so you knew that before you even went in. More importantly, nobody is there! Why would they open the big rides? When nobody is there, this would be a total waste of money. Why have loads of staff on and machines running wasting power just for you.
Firstly , some parks do offer limited ride availability depending on different times of the year, and that's completely understandable with operating costs, etc . The point is that some of the advertised rides that were supposed to be open were closed, not the big rides... as well as that to be closed at that time of the year is crazy - you go anywhere else to lots of parks, and they don't shut their rides at that time of the year. It wasn't December Jan, etc...
The park is a complete mess - major accidents in the past - not enough investment due to not enough being made because of their failed policies in the past - bad food - people stay away because of a lot of reasons and until those reasons are sorted out Oakwood unfortunately will also go down as a park with huge potential but never getting to where they should and can be. I love the look of the re-track, but that's nowhere near enough.
If you go down the road to Folly Farm as an example, it's night and day to the difference the way it's run.
You're welcome to your opinion, and this is mine - that's what makes the Theme Park community so great. Everyone has a range of opinions
I won't sit there and agree that everything is great when it's not. I'm here to say what I think and how the park can move on in the future without being out of reach - with not tens of millions spent. Oakwood can be much better getting the smaller details right, which the park lacks badly in.
The longest reply ever 😎 hopefully 1 day Oakwood gets sorted out to the standard it could and should be.
I'm speaking from someone who works in the industry, and your video was completely negative, not a bit of positive feedback. How is this going to help oakwood. It isn't going to get them the custom they desperately need? You're just putting a nail in their cofin. They've just invested serval million on the megafobia track work. They're actively trying to make the park better. I do agree they have got issues, and the park does need a tidy up, but it's still a great park with a lovely family feel. You should be supporting their efforts not slating them.
Life isn't always about saying how great things are when they aren't. There are good reviews and bad, just like anything. If a place I visit deserves good feedback, I will always say the truth, not just say every single place I visit is great for the sake of it. That wouldn't be right for anyone who wants to spend a lot of money visiting somewhere as a family. Unfortunately, as I said, oakwood is one of the worst parks I have visited . I have been here several times when all the main rides are operating, and there are a lot of better places for people to spend money and time. Your welcome to your opinion and I respect that. This is mine.

Oakwood is great, now summer is coming megafobia and Drenched (both top 3 rides) will be back and better then ever. Speed is as good as always same for bounce

Wow I've never seen a park so quiet! I think they could have at least included Vertigo in the entry price considering there's not much else available. Have you ever been on it?
The end of May to see Oakwood in this mess was crazy! Yes, they have done the re-track, but it's unacceptable to run a park like this. Yes, I have a while ago not lately 😎

Oh my god the staff member going round on the bob sleigh 😩😂. I’d never heard of this park, such a shame so much of it is closed. This looks like it could be such a good park
🤣 - they have a couple of decent rides there - when they are open! - it needs new owners and a lot of money of money spent on it, that's for sure
I went there last year and omg it was so much fun! Food is pricey but the rides are so so much fun!!
@lilacrobyn3747 glad you had a good time - that's what I like about parks - we all have our own opinions on everything and there is no wrong or right answer
I’ve been here lots of time it’s a great fun theme park some may differ but overall it’s a great park imo x

Bounce can’t operate at all in the rain but it being this deserted is crazy and idk if u have been back since the mega re track but it is reallly good

It looks great. Apart from it pissing down and your probably out of season and early morning so its quiet but quiet is great. All the park to yourself. Cant believe i never knew wales had a theme park and i love viditing wales
all woodies have that shake factor, it's part of their charm I thought ??, I doubt it was more shaky as say, Cú Chulainn or the Grand National !! to me that's just how woodies are.
They all run completely different, just like any coaster

It would be like that in most parks atm due to holidays - least the rides are actually open now and Megafobia seems a lot better with that re-track I'll have to pay a visit at some point for that

I bet this theme won’t last much longer and it will have to eventually close.
It's been like this a long time with various problems over the years. Most of the offering is open now, though, unless it's taken over in the future by someone else the park will continue to have problems though

@ahhhhhh-ry3im obviously not... I was there in May... and not the start - if anyone would like to Google Oakwood theme park may reduced offering, they will see a page that states all of the main rides are closed then... please don't post false comments on my page that are not true. Thank you
