I’ve been using Wise for about 3 years now so I finally decided to create a video about them. I used to pay an outrageous amount of money transfer fees when I transferred money from paypal to my bank account. Now I use a Wise money transfer to avoid letting paypal convert currencies. In this video I explain exactly how Wise works and how to send money using Wise. I walk you through step-by-step on my computer and show you how to use the popular service Wise and how to make an international money transfer.

On 15.12.2020 i have sent 8000Chf from Switzerland to Vietnam but now my family still not received it. I try to call, email them but doesn’t help. They dont have any office in Switzerland and i just can call directly to UK . In my case , do you think i will lost my money?

All I can say is that nothing beats expertise when it comes to investing.
This is not far from the truth as I’ve tried doing it myself using transferwise but failed woefully not until I got expert help. Wish I had this knowledge earlier in life.

Thanks for the video. One thing to add is that the "fees" listed are the fees that TransferWise (now Wise) charges. Your bank may charge additional fees! For example, your bank may charge nothing if you use a debit card for the transfer but a lot if you use the bank transfer method.

I use that to pay foreign merchants and manufacturers who only accept bank transfer payment cos i dont have a bank account lol.
Just pay with my prepaid virtual credit card and done, its all that easy.
Easy to use and the interface of their website is very easy to understand and nice.
Very useful for people like me who doesnt have a bank account or people who dont wanna use their actual bank account funds for transferring money for security purposes.
Also, i dont link bank accounts and i dont put funds in my transferwise account, i just pay the exact amount im gonna send with mt credit card, in that way im not worried that my account will be closed with money in it and im sure that im charged only the exact amount that i sent cos i only put the amount of money im gonna send nothing more.

Hi Simon, thanks for your video! I do have one question though; I could see that your money needed to reach the Wise account by 10:26am on Friday, but I don't know when you made the transfer so have no idea how long you had? I have heard that if the money is not with Wise by the deadline (which can be as short as 2 hours) then you get a different rate from the one you saw when you created the transaction. What is your understanding? My bank told me they cannot guarantee the money will be there within 2 hours.

Simon, thanks for the tutorial. One question. I see you are using Zurich Cantonal Bank to do your transfer to Wise. Does ZCB charge any fees to do the transfer from ZCB to Wise? When I use UBS to do a wire transfer, I get charged fees from UBS. Thx and cheers from Zurich.

thanks for your effort, you did choose the example of US and Swiss, where the transfer is very easy. could you let us know how is with countries, where money transfer is always complicated. in my case Iraq, I could do every step which you explained but where do the person get the money from ?? is there any office like Western Union or any certain bank who deals with Wise. Most likely not.. but to make sure you‘d have to ask the bank in question. Normally the receiving bank converts the foreign currency to the local currency which does cost money. That‘s what you can avoid using transferwise.

if we want to send money to someone else, wise or other virtual bank account like Payoneer, ask us to enter some details. one of that details is address. usually the address (street, zip code, ect) will be the address of customer house or the address of the bank?
