    I'm always happy to see locals hunting for meat, as should be done. Hopefully there are good legal provisions in place to make sure the hunts are affordable for the locals. I understand the conservation components being funded by trophy hunters, but I also truly believe that local hunter should always have an allotment at an affordable price.

      I agree 100%. There are too many outfitters that charge an arm and a leg for local hunters. I understand that it's expensive to maintain the properties and the animals so it can't be too cheap. There should be a balance.
      Thank you for watching and for your comment, I appreciate your time.

    If you wear leather shoes, take prescription medicines, have had surgery, eat animals for nutrition, get vaccinated, use insecticides, concerned about preserving endangered species and are anti hunting: you are a hypocrite. Hunting gives these animals financial value. Without financial value, there is no incentive to conserve any species. Hunters are the true conservationists. Hunters are also not hypocrites.

    Every time you see these heavily armed, so-called property owners shooting animals for a sleazy sport you wonder how long could this be sustained? It's a matter of time before all our animals are wiped out. That is what happened in America, there are no wild bison in America. Wildernesses such as kwa nyamazana kruger national parker are heavily commercialized and heavy rigs are crisscrossing the only wilderness left for animals. Our government allows this madness to proceed un abetted. Its very upsetting and worrying.

    • @AfricanSunProductions
      @AfricanSunProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Mkosi, and thanks for your comment. It's very rude though, but I accept your apology in advance.
      Most of the areas I film in used to be cattle farms with almost no wildlife at all. These "heavily armed" owners took away the domestic animals and relocated wildlife. Who paid for this? They did. If they go ahead and hunt a couple of animals each year to cover the running costs of the property then it's still very good conservation.
      These guys are heavily armed not to hunt the animals with, but to protect these animals from poachers. If you remove hunting from these areas the same thing will happen to wildlife in South Africa as what happened to wildlife in Kenya. Kenya lost 75% of their wildlife after hunting wats banned in the '70s.
      So this is why I accept your apology in advance, because you probably didn't know about all this.

    • @mkosinyoni1145
      @mkosinyoni1145 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AfricanSunProductions RUDE !!! common. I dont think so. Just highlighting a concern. Well, thanks for enlightening me about what transpired in kenya regarding the consequences of poaching. However i still stick with the opinion that, there shouldn't be no individual who can claim ownership to wild animals and natural environment. no body can not put a price to that. But what we have been witnessing lately, is that any jo bloggs with a lot of dosh can come up with flawed and tired narrative of being champion of conservation and best interset of African wild life. It is an illusion ploy. No individual should not claim a wild buffalo as a commodity. similarly no one should not claim a mountain or a river cause there is no price to that. Talk about population boom and the diminishing natural habitat of wild species we can agree.
      Thanks.

    • @AfricanSunProductions
      @AfricanSunProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@mkosinyoni1145 It's not a ploy, it's very simple. There wasn't any wildlife 10 years ago, now there is. Seems successful to me.
      If nobody (one word) owns the area or the animals, then nobody will protect it. It's been seen all over Africa.
      I do agree with human population boom and them taking over the natural habitat of animals, and it's because of this that the remaining habitats needs to be protected and managed.

      Not at all, it was planned from the start. Females tend to get too many throughout the year. Many hunters wait until they are out of breeding season and hunt for meat only. The skin is still used but normally donated to a taxidermist which will make small items with the leather.
