BMX Sim would've been the one I played the most and remember the most, Dizzy games use to frustrate the hell outta of me, I will have to give Slicks a go for sure as never heard of it, another great video
One other thing to notice is how many of these are Ash and Dave games: it's hard to go wrong with anything they were involved in as they wrote some real classics for the platform.
Love you, love this series!!! Brilliant selection of code master games, was great to see so many Dizzy games in the top 20, just goes to show how amazing the Oliver twins where and still are to this day! Every game is worthy of its place in your top 20 sir OSG!
Tilt blew my mind as a kid. I remember when I got it: it was just before Christmas, and my father let me get a game when we were heading into one of the neighbouring towns as a treat. I spent ages trying to figure out how they got the 3D working smoothly, and it didn't hurt that it was a really good game too!
Grand Prix Simulator wasn’t a bad little Sprint clone. Sure the cars were just rectangles but you could slide them around the corners which made it good fun to play.
If not come across any of these as I had an Amiga at the time they came out along with a PC and a Neo Geo Thanks for reviewing these - very informative
It's quite refreshing seeing a retro channel actually liking the Dizzy games! I used to love them as a kid but all the channels I watch seem to dislike the Dizzy games lol. That was a great list, but made me realise how few decent Codemasters games I'd played as a kid!
Im not like all the other sheep mate...we all played them and they are a massive part of my childhood ... i dont understand why people seem to hate them now they are as good as any adventure game on the system
@@oldstylegaming Right on buddy! I loved the Dizzy games as a kid, it was the best we got for that kind of puzzle adventure on the 8-bits and I don't regret liking them one bit!
So many of these I'm seeing for the first time.. I jumped off board before many of these were released.. so its great, youve given me lots to choose from to get stuck into :)
My favorite Codemasters game is ATV simulator on C64. That game doesnt seem to be very liked by others, but i played it a lot with my cousin as a kid. Simultaneous 2-player mode was so much fun.
Sadly, I sorta forgot about the C64 in '88 so It's nice to see all these great games being released into the '90's, I'll deffo check some of em out, nice one m8 :)
There is a particular pleasure of playing games with only ost, I mean, without sound effects. Most console owners never had that chance. I mean, NES, Super NES, Master System, Mega Drive... They rarely had a turn off sound effects option.
Some classics there, I remember buying the first dizzy on tape for £1.99, the playability is still there these days, going back through them now on a modded xbox. Nice one.
The level design shown in the clip of Stuntman Seymour looks suspiciously like that seen in DJ Puff's Volcanic Capers, another Codemasters release, as I recall. The graphics look virtually identical too, to be honest. Anyway, a nice, interesting video once again...but it's a shame you didn't like Kwik Snax as I absolutely loved it, lol.
Here after Codemasters bought by EA for over billion dollars! It's probably nothing like what it was back in the c64 days, but it's a name we remember from childhood

So many fond memories of going and getting new codies game for 2.99. Rarely disappointed. I still prefer the old games now than the modern ones. I must be getting old lol
Sorry this a different issue, I recently purchased a Amiga 500, but want to keep the original 3.5 floppy disc drive, anyway I've ran into problems keyboard issue with 6 keys no working (checking the membrane) on the weekend, plus now the drive everyone is telling me to go Gotek, but to me it's not the option as I would just build my retropie, I've searched internet for floppy drive problems, my issue it won't read(cleaned) did boot up one disc lol, it's those 2 black pins......anyway can these be repaired or need to replaced? Conflicting info I seem to be getting
You have a few options mate. I was like you and didn't want to change to gotek but have now and it's great ...all you miss is the sound of the drive, I've even mounted it in the a500. The problem with floppies are they degrade with age so that can stop some disks from reading but chances are its your drive. You can use a standard pc floppy drive by changing a chip position on the board not sure which one as it's been a while since I did it but it was dead easy or buy a new drive ...I did this a few times before getting sick of disk fails etc then went to gotek ... You can get a splitter so you can have both gotek and original drives so as not to get rid of the disk loading option .
Would be nice to see Codemasters make another Dizzy game, since 2D platformers seem to be back in fashion, but I guess they're too occupied with F1 now.

Not sure if Codemasters ever made a great game. They just made solid platformers, racers and "simulators". Yeah unlike some of the mastertronic games the boxart on codemasters was always eye-catching
I’ve never played the C64 version of Kwik Snax, but that’s a totally different game to the Spectrum and Amiga game!
Dizzy is awesome and cool to see Cj's Elephant Antics, I played that on the Spectrum
Still waiting for a proper Dizzy comeback!
