I don't understand if it's a 12 volt battery and you are jumping from a 12 volt source what would be the damage. The starter is going to draw the same and the components are all rated for 12 volts??? I can see if you are jumping a 6 volt with a 12 volt. If you want to enlighten me that would be great.
@@mollyhackman4910 Thanks for watching, we understand your thoughts. It just doesn’t have the protective measures that of full size vehicle has for ensuring no damage occurs to the electrical system and wiring.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders if you are able to do a longer video going over to these things I would appreciate it and I would watch it. I believe there could be some risk to the charging system like when you jump one car with another car you could damage the alternator. But I have heard this from a few other people about damaging the system. Yet Sears has a how to video for how to jump your lawn mower. So I really would like to figure this out one way or the other.
Would have been good to see you take it out, explain if can charge those small batteries with any battery charger, then do it, then put it back in. I will keep looking for such.

Thanks for watching & it unfortunately can damage more than the battery. It can damage relays, overheat electrical wiring, burn circuit breakers & more. 😳 We hope the video helped. 😎👍🔧🔩
Thank you! Unfortunately, I did but it died after a few days and several yards. Im wondering if I damaged some of those components. Or perhaps the battery I bought doesn't have enough cca. It's 230. Engine is 23hp. Subscribing, and thank you!
@@jasoncapps3516 Thanks for the reply. One thing it may be is your throttle setting during mowing. Believe it or not, if you have your PTO engaged & your blades spinning and at the same time you have a throttle setting less than full...“🐇 “... your battery will not charge. In other words, anytime you are mowing your lawn, you must have it configured at full throttle position. 😎👍🔧🔩

Waste of time. He's never jump started, charged, or changed a battery. Pretty obvious when he's wearing his dish washing gloves to raise the seat...(Notice the charger is still in the box, so that he can return it.)
