I don't think Tom noticed, because he just quicly hovered over it in a shop, but they did change Orbert's Story, so it's no longer strange and random, but instead it wants you to go into lot of ? events. (Useful if the map ahead is filled with them). Also classic Tom questioning the viability of an orb after one bad shot on a map that wasn't really built for it lol!
I don't think I have laughed so much from a peglin video it was amazing, just all of it put together made the most nailbiting/funny run since you never knew was Tom going to die next fight or not since his bombs may kill him

I think, and this is not for sure, but I think tom could've lived and beaten that final fight if he had gutterball'ed all the shots and not detonated any bombs. The red bomb guy does flat damage, so if all the shots go into the void with no pegs and the discards for it, theoretically it'd take 4 shots to win? Maybe though.
+90 damage per red bomb on the board and he started with 40 bombs, so it should have done 3600 damage each if he immediately gutterball'ed the first shot.
Had a similar build about a week ago with lots of refresh synergy. I picked up the pegs can refresh into bombs relic right before the final boss. I oneshot the dragon... and myself on the first turn. 10/10, would blowup again.

I think on the final boss if you just aimed directly down without hitting anything it would have one-shot all of them and done no damage to you. It should have dealt 40 x 90 = 3600 damage.

How many opportunities would Tom have had to increase his Max Health if he took the Totem? Probably not enough to survive the bombit (bomb vomit) in that final fight, but close?
I believe shock absorber would've saved you. At level 3 it reduces red bomb damage, though I don't know if that's only when you throw it or if it's a flat effect

Much like the mole fight and the art of the tree guys and your favorite relic Orbert's Story (which you didn't even look at!) You know... I'm beginning to think you're not the best at reading patch notes. 😜 Very entertaining run though! 💜
Man, I got the red bomb build with the thing that reduces incoming damage by 1. It was devastating.... And then I died because I AOEd all of the Pigment's paintings and got poisoned... She then got KOd by my cheese too.
i think bomb builds in general in this game are the funniest thing you can do just cus of the BLEGHHHHH of bombs, but red bombs make it so much sweeter.
Tom saying he read the patch notes, doesn't know about the new laser orb, mole/muscircle interaction, and skips shock orbsorber which would have reduced the red orb damage (resulting in only 102 damage at the final boss instead of 156). That being said he likely would have still died depending on what shop items he went for.
I believe if you took the relic that refreshes each time an enemy dies would help. Because that'd have healed you 6 HP each time something died as well. That and firing the doctorb in the final fight might have been enough to save you.

It was never about living, though. It was about throwing as many bombs as possible.
