Thumb up this comment if you are trying to listen to the difference between the modded speakers and stock ones while playing the video on x220 with stock speakers.
A more useful mod would be to swap the microphone module with one from a LG V20 (impressive sound quality). Another idea would be to use it's 20M pxl sensor for the webcam.
Great and direct video. I got two of these and installed them on my x230. Direct comparison in my case did not result in louder sound. Just scarifying treble for bass which in most of my cases is not preferable (listening to meetings, podcasts....). Quality of voice is much worse on the new ones. Both new delivered speakers sounds same so i doubt they are defective. New speakers seem louder, but not when installed in case. Original speakers fire downwards, while these note 10+ speakers fire on the side. So when installed they dont fire downwards through holes, but rather on the side or with some insignificant angle depending on how you installed them.
Hi, I have made an update in description. Now I realised that those speakers are not that good. (you can tune equalizer, it makes a huge difference) I much more recommend speakers from iphone Xr, or macbook 12" (2015 - 2017) Yeah Note 10+ speakers were definitely not loud in windows, but in linux it was fine
Hi, I ordered a pair of macbook 2015-2017 a1534 speakers (the yellow ones). They have 2 twetters per module. Are the 2 tweeters from module the same? I mean, just 2 twetters or a woofer/tweeter... I think that there are more conectors in the flex cable than just 2 or 3. Should I take apart the module and just install the speaker itself? There should be a pair of wires inside connected to the twetters for a more easy conection... Maybe it would be a good idea to install 2 tweeters in the original place of the old ones and the extra 2 tweeters below the laptop, close to the side edges, wiring through one of the screw holes and creating some room just raising the laptop a pair of mm. Just below the screen is a good place too, but there will be issues closing the lid...If there are lid parts to break and make room to the twetters, it could be great.
Hello, I have used one speaker module in X200 and in X220 2 modules, speakers inside look same - connect speakers from outside, solder wires to connectors, or peel down black material on cable and solder there - one module contains 2 separate speakers, so you have more options how to connect them in X200 I have connected left channel to left speaker, right channel to right speaker (in one module) In X220 is more space, so have connected 2 speakers (in one module in parallel (maybe serial) - both speakers in one module), left and right modes are separate link to some photos and videos: photos.app.goo.gl/de9eTExDWAbvXahd9 In X200 is no space under display, it would be utopia

Thx for the Amazing work and idea I just recently successfully replaced the speakers on my T530 with the loudspeakers from the iphone xr. Since you used the same speakers on the t430 Do you know which eq settings would be best? I've only did eq on laptop speakers and I having a hard time and can't get it to be right on these XRs
I did it over a year ago, technology has developed - I would recommend an iphone 13 speakers but if you have from iphone xr - try to lower mids, pull up highs; sound analyzer on your phone can help
I don't know from where you are, I'm located in Slovakia. It is not worth to send Thinkpad over half of the world. It's not a hard task you only need to solder wires to speakers and connector

Reminds me of when i was trying to tell the difference between a low and high res screen on a t420 while watching on a low res t420

Keep your feet on the ground, when your heads in the clouds.
Not everything is possible, but at least I can try that.

apple speakers are the only good ones I know, except for the Lenovo Yoga 520, they sounded great too
Hi, would the Macbook pro speakers fit for the T440P or should we pick a smaller one (iPhone XR, iPhone 12 pro...)? Thank you!
pick smaller ones
subscribed, fellow thinkpad modder! can you make an updated video for the new macbook speakers, to show how you fit them?
Very nicely done :)
Nice! Would you convert it to 13.3 FHD display in your "Ultimate X230" video?
already done 16:10 2560x1600px mod, working on video and more videos

sure, but only with iohone speakers , there is less space
Would the Macbook A1534 speakers fit in a T480s?
short answer: NO
but at least in my T480s i have a 120hz screen and you can too 🙃
@@peterrisa any ideas what speakers could fit in the T480s?

Hey can i use speakers from lenovo y50-70?
I haven't tried, but you can. I have no idea, if they fit. I would recommend speakers from phone, for example, a BlackBerry passport.
think this would work for x270?
definitely
all that and your not gonna use heat shrink..? gonna wrap ur wire connections in way to much electrical (garbage) tape..?
