Not really a dirty tactic, it's part of the game. It makes your opponent have to account for yet another strategy. Maybe next time they put a lot of air and ground defense next to their construction yard. Your strategy is clever and would definitely upset opponents, but it's not dirty!

If you put engineers in all the oil derricks right at the beginning of the game, you make $500 profit per oil derrick (lose a $500 engineer but gain $1000 form initial cash bonus = $500) and you've also denied your opponent getting that $1000 if they then send engineers to capture your oil derricks. On maps like bay of pigs, which has something like 20 oil derricks, that initial engineer rush can quickly swing the game in your favor.

I've never heard the phrase "Base Walk", I've always tried to keep the REST of my base as protected as possible, walling off places of ingress & setting up a multitude of base defenses around my camp to make it more difficult for my enemies to do any real damage.. Then again, I've been playing against bots, soooo.... 🤣🤣
Need more instructionals (like build order or counters), coming back to this game I was way over my head against people who've never left it. Keep up the good work!

I use to play this alot. I noticed that many time you build an ore factory get a miner then sell the factory. I am surprised you didnt touch on this because you do it often.

I've been messing the ini codes for the game in years but there is a "flag" that gives an idea of "Credits in first capture"... and mostly oilderricks are given 1000 credits for the ones who first capture it... so you are basically at least more motivated to capture oil derricks earlier in the game...

i once completed the yuri's revenge allied campaign mission where you have destroy the grinders in la with only using basewalk and i did it byt using grand cannons and power generators (i have a challange for you: complete the whole yuri's revenge dlc using only basewalk)

Base walking is probably the most essential part of multiplayer survival

Tech oil derricks also instantly grants 1000 dollars to the first person to capture it so it's really important to get them first.

i could be wrong but I used to park a tank on a gem field or ore field so the gems or ore never gets completely depleted.... it is this true?
Steven Harvey no, but the ore miner cannot mine when tank above the ore, but after move the tank, your ore miner can collect huge gold
