As someone who took on a similar task I commend your efforts and dedication, this series is always nice to come back and watch. Does make me sad seeing myself and peers struggle with the mythicals for our living dexes tho so in that regard I'm glad you and others have managed to snag 'em when they were available. My living dex is currently ONLY missing Marshadow so while I can't have it I'm waiting for the POGO event to try and grab one or get better luck with the trades.
This journey started over a year ago at the end of my junior year of high school, and has continued during right here at the end of my senior year, and a week before my graduation. It’s ironic that as of right now, you left before generation 8, my first Pokemon games. Thanks for keeping me entertained @thedomination

I didn’t seriously push myself, but I did do the same thing with a full National Living Dex back when sword & shield released. All Pokémon captured in regular red Pokéballs
I find this so impressive and I love following this series. I've send over my gen 7 dex to Home a month or so ago after I've given them all some ribbons I realy wanted them to have, including the Alolan Champion Ribbon. All members of my livingdex will get at least the league badges of all the games they come through before arriving in Home.
@ThedomiNATION Rowlet is always my last choice, mostly because I absolutely despise Dartrix. I'm in love with Primarina. It's one of my favorite Pokemon of all time.
So, I'm curious about the "Totem Pokemon" that you can get in the ultra games by obtaining all 100 Totem stickers. I know that some of them are unable to be deposited into Bank/home, and that they lose their special size difference when transferred out of gen 7, but perhaps you could add them as part of an optional "extras"? Anyways, keep up the good work! I'm excited to see the gen 8 video come out!
Because they lose their totem status when sent to later games, there’s no point in adding them to a living Dex as they are just regular Pokémon that I’ve already caught. It would be like needing every alpha Pokémon from legends arceus for a living Dex which is definitely not required
I'm very close to being done with the 3DS era now. I just bought a Japanese 3DS and a Japanese copy of Y so I can catch the rest of the Vivillon I need. Something else I've been doing as a side quest is going around and doing all the in-game trades in each game. I think It'd be neat to have them all collected. I've also been Leveling up each Pokémon to level 100 as a side quest, witch is actually really easy by sos chaining chansey in gen 7, and using the daycare method and leaving my DS on overnight in the auto loop in lumiose

Was looking for a Drillbur for my team in Whispering Cave and ended up finding a full odds Shiny Woobat! Good thing I need a flying and psychic type I guess!

Great work! Now, regarding the needed forms, I have a doubt regarding the Zen Mode Darnanitans and Female Salandit. Could they be considered different forms internally? One is acually changing form and the other is able to evolve when its male is not
I actually looked into zen mode darmanitan because of the internal forms of mothim and scatterbug, but it is only just an ability change! This is probably because you can just use an ability patch to change its ability while zygarde it needs to specifically be the zygarde cube to change its ability. As for female salandit, it’s not a separate form. Just a different gender. They just have it set so only females can evolve (like how female snorunt can evolve into froslass and male kirlia can evolve into gallade but the opposite genders cannot)

In later gen games or remakes, if the mythical Pokemon not in regular pokeballs could be caught in the regular balls, in raids or story events similar to Pecharunt, would those count in the living dex?
It depends on your personal preference. These are just rules I’m setting myself. No one is required to follow them exactly. For me, I include any mythical that I obtained in the original generation first regardless of pokeball it’s caught in. After that, I would probably include mythicals you can catch in later generations in pokeballs (like meloetta in SV or Keldeo in SWSH). For Pokémon like Pecharunt, you can catch it in a regular pokeball and in its original generation! So it’s the best of both worlds!
I needed to catch other Pokémon like the ribombee. Also in gen 7 some of the nectar is day/night exclusive. Overall it didn’t really matter but I asked chat if I should catch 4 Pom poms and change their form or just catch each form and they suggested I catch each form
Different pokeballs really bugged me. So, ever since I was a kid, everything i caught was in basic pokeballs. Certain gender forms I do not have. But other than that, I have every "noticeable" form of a pokemon (#1-1025)*if possible*. And it's always the pokemon with the highest catch rate that takes the longest for me😂.
Good luck! Yeah I usually take a break between generations. Catching and evolving everything and especially editing the videos for these makes me not want to rush into the next gen right away lol
Super suprised you still haven’t found a shiny I moved on to Gen 8 just last week doing extra runs for Urshifu (getting ones with G-Max factor as well as w/o) I’ve gotten a vullaby in Gen 5 mudbray in Gen 7 and wooloo in Gen 8. Hoping you have some of my luck going forward as we both continue on.

A note about GMAX Melmetal/a new Home account - there is no way to sign out of Home on mobile and afaik you can't claim the Melmetal through the Switch version

@@IsaakOliva-w4r I’m not sure. I’d recommend doing a direct download to your pc or laptop and don’t try to download it from a phone if that’s what you’re trying to do. I don’t own Microsoft excel so I don’t know what exactly how or why an issue is happening but I haven’t gotten any other comments of it not working

Because the eshop closed down so many years ago, the only way to get rumble for the Wii would be to homebrew your will then download the game to an sd card and put the game on your Wii from there

It just depends on how you want to organize your living Dex! It would make sense for 10% to go first but I personally like organizing my living Dex based on the order home has them listed!
I tired listening to your gen 1 video and go in order. But the amount you glitched, cheesed, cheated took me out of it. Was exciting about this series and now not worth watching.

When I did my living dex, the easiest way was Gen 8 or 9 considering all of the Pokémon are in one game

Yeah the mythicals can be tough but anytime they’re made available it’s always good to grab them! They don’t all have to be from the original events!

there was a marshadow event in sw/sh too but only in japan and europe

I gave my smeargle the move soak! That turns them into water types and allows them to be affected by spore!

I was recently in my crystal catching all the gen 2 mons for this exact challenge and found a shiny onix, he’s now an absolute unit of a steelix

20:39 is there a reason that you didn't just catch 4 oricorios then use nectar to chabge them (they can be bought in sv)

Starting gen 7 living dex soon. I find myself getting burnt out after each gen at the moment with the amount of playthroughs needed.
