A pretty noice review of what I consider the "punching bag season" of modern Death Battle. It was really solid throughout with the analyzation, critques, praises, and jokes. As for my stance on Marvel and DC's soured reputation after this season, I say that there's still a good number of matches left to do, whether it's either series against a non-Marvel/DC character (such as Captain America vs Kamen Rider Ichigo) or one of the good remaining MvDC MUs left to do (such as the upcoming-as-of-writing-this Ant-Man vs Atom). They just need to be spaced out and limiting the number of Marvel/DC vs non-Marvel/DC MUs where the non-comic character had better opponents to choose from, and luckily they've done a good job improving on that front -outside of Korra vs Storm- . Can't wait for your Season 8 review a couple of months from now. I'm willing to wait for some more good shit like this.

Nice seeing not only Goro vs Machamp appreciation, but Four Fist Death Punch love as well. It’s my favorite track in the show for a reason. Ive noticed over the years that several sprites have similar poses or such to prior combatants which never bothered me in the slightest or even seemed like a bad thing. Look at Blanka & Lobo for a good example. If anything i find it almost like a Wheres Waldo sort of deal ♡ That said, the second i saw the hair for Sindel, i instantly knew it was Felicia and the stance didnt help either. That alone wasnt bad but my god that hair is INSANELY distracting and that alone really made watching the episode such a slog... for me i woulda put it at 19 but at that point thats me being pedantic lol
I feel like this is definitely a transitional season. It’s a season that needed to happen to get the training wheels off for the puppet rigging, cause nowadays puppet rigged sprite DBS look absolutely fantastic. And say what you will about the marvel dc oversaturation but I feel like it A: got a lot of them out of the way so now there’s really not a lot left to do (I really can’t think of any major marvel dc MUs that they haven’t done yet, ant man atom aside. Yeah there’s stuff like Annihilus Larfleeze but those a bit niche.) B: Some of those episodes still really good like god DAMN Red Hood Winter Soldier goes super hard. Overall I say calling it the “worst” modern season isn’t really saying all that because by that standard it’s still stupidly amazing.

The thing about Season 7 is that it wasn't just a lot of Marvel and DC episodes, but also the fact that most of them were MUs that almost nobody asked for. Like I genuinely don't know a single person that unironically wanted Batgirl VS Spider-Gwen or Genos VS War Machine to happen.
This was another great DB ranking, but a few notes. One, Winter Soldier killing Red Hood wasnt really a love tap. It was more Winter Soldier crushing Red Hood's skull. Sure it cooould have made it look more clear but i digress. And two, you calling Crona a she. I dont mean to sound like it, but Crona's gener was never revealed. The manga never gave them a gender and even Death Battle and the Soul Eater wiki state they Crona's gender is unknown. Again great video, just wanted to point those out.
I think they were trying to imply that ultra instinct overpowered the soul seed steal because of the power level increase and how it allows every part of the body to react independently
I never really understood the hatred for season 7, in fact, it was actually season 8 that I didn't like, though that's mostly for very subjective reasons (mostly with the line up), maybe it's because Goro vs Machamp is my favorite episode of the season, and maybe it's because I'm one of the few people who doesn't wince anytime Marvel or DC matchups gets announced and actually quite likes them (though with some match ups like lex vs doom I can certainly see why some are tired of them), but at least they are more interesting and memorable characters to discuss than the good majority of the anime episodes they do.
With Batgirl vs. Spider-Gwen I had no issues with Gwen winning however there was 2 flaws in Death Battle's research that pretty much insured this was a "stomp" in Gwen's favor and not a close fight first off they wanked Gwen's Spider-Sense to be on par with both Peter's Spider-Sense, and Miles's Spider-Sense which is not accurate to the comics as in the comics Gwen out of the 3 of them has the weakest Spider-Sense as her Spider-Sense only works 50% of the time, and this makes it real easy to hit her from behind, or get her with a Sneak Attack with Gwen's Spider-Sense activating after she's been hit by a Sneak Attack, next they pretty much ignored the fact Barbara has beaten foes with similar superhuman physical stats to Gwen on numerous occasions via her battles with the superhuman assassins used by the Court of Owls known as the Talons and yes Barbara has beaten groups of Talons before. So again no issue with Gwen winning but ignoring Barbara's victories against the Talons, and wanking Gwen's Spider-Sense makes this battle less close fight and more "stomp" in Gwen's Favor, at least it wasn't as bad as when Death Battle pretty wanked Raven to basically OP Demi-Goddess levels and have her "stomp" Twilight despite the fact Twilight should've won what should've been a close fight, or Dio being able to "stomp" Alucard just because Liam was a massive Jojo fan.
I like Flash Vs Sonic just being called Flash Vs Sonic because, 1: It's not like they did Barry Allen Vs Game Sonic before, so there's no confusion, and 2: Barry Allen really deserve to become the main Flash again after he had been dead for 2 decades, and from what I've seen more hardcore fans prefer Wally West as Flash anyway.
personally i found it weird that they wouldn't focus on leonardo's specific abilities to each continuity, but still gave him abilities that were each only shown a specific continuity. look i just wanted him to become a dragon, okay?
I'm hoping One Piece gets more repetition as well. I would at least want to see Franky vs Cyborg, The Suuuuupeeeer Cyborg Shipright of the Strawhats versus Mr. BOYAH himself!

Sanji vs Rock Lee is unironically one of my least favorite episodes in Death Battle. They took two of my favorite characters from both series, and threw them into a terrible fight with janky animation, overwritten dialogue, and some of the biggest cases of character assassination I've seen in Death Battle, and this episode only hurts more considering this is one of only three One Piece episodes. I really hope new One Piece episodes come out soon and I hope they're good because this series deserves so much better than this.
Ok so this is arguably a nitpick for me but one thing that annoys me about gray analysis is when they were talking about his backstory they didn't even mention the demon by name which is Deliora they just call him the demon and that's kinda bad to do since they didn't also go over silver fullbuster like bro

The season 8th ranking is going to be an interesting one since it was a 10th anniversary season it has some of the most requested matchups ever, some surprises and in my opinion one of the worst matchups they ever did in the entire show. (besides the actual worst one)
