Thanks a alot! 🙏This is unfortunally not made with the car light but with a head torch, shouldnt make a difference thou as long as you can find the owl with your car 👍🏻😊
Thank you so much Duade! It was quite hard I can deny but it was worth it! You should, so much fun! I'm already trying to figure out better nighting solutions haha.. Thanks again! 🙏🙏😊
Hey Andy, great video! I've never tried wildlife photography at night I really enjoyed the video and photographs. Wow.... vlogging and photographing at night looks tough, but you were right on it. Say'in hey ... Greg
What a great evening out with the tawny Andy! I hear these owls at night from my bedroom window at my new place, might have to give it a try one day as well. Nice video 👌
Thank you Jose! I’ve been thinking about making more night photography videos but havn’t gotten around to it. generally you need light and preferably a strong light source and maybe even 2 or 3 sources to help you to keep your iso down for a cleaner photo. Many hides use construction lighting and it works fine for them however I’ve never tried it so can’t give you my opinion regarding it. In my case it was a head torch with a lumen of 1000 and you keeping my shutterspeed really low, you will get blurry photos but one will hopefully be sharp enough, if you have a camera which can handle low light good then that’s ideal! Hopefully it helped you some! Have a great day
Hi Andy, I have been attempting to find a tawny locally to do the same and had the same thought on the head torch. Do you mind if I ask where did you attach it, to your head whilst filming, or on the lens/lens hood? thanks!
Hey! Hope you find one it was really fun ! I had it both on my head and in my hand, using tripod and a good lcd screen makes it much easier to keep focus while you’re lighting up the bird! :)
Thank you Andrew! Well it was a fluke and wasnt sure it would work with my head torch but it did. 🙏 Get yourself a light source above 1200 lumen, keep your shutterspeed fairly low and crank up the iso if needed :)
Thank you so much! I used my head torch and kept the light on it while recording and photographing, a flash would do a better job to make sure the shutter were fast enough but don't have any, still think it turned out quite well to be honest!
@@AndyGustavsson thanks, yeah, the head lamp worked great. It's hard to light owls in the foliage as small branches tend to cast hard shadows on the birds, great job.
Hey, I hope you are well. I have seen all videos. Very well. I appreciate your work. I have sent an email by ifthekar robin, kindly check it out. and waiting for your reply. Thanks

Nice Video...Could pls suggest one best Spot light or any other lights to shoot night birds.
Thank you so much! I used a head lamp for this session but would go for something better! 😊🙏
Nice, but it would be helpful to add tips on how to do it settings wise.

@@AndyGustavsson Perfect, thanks for the reply!
whee is the available light coming from?
A head lamp with 1200 lumen😊
Was hoping for a how to video..lighting..settings etc..BUT nicely done

@Andy Gustavsson question..
My dashcam & gopro will film a lit up image albeit distant & blurry but my camcorder won't.. any idea why?
Oh that’s unfortunally outside my comfort zone, I think it has to do with the focus distance but I’m not the right guy to answer that!
What was your camera setting at that time.
I’m not 100% but if I remember correctly, 1/60 f4 iso 10000-12800 or so
great work congrats! what have you used for lighting the owls to be able to photograph them?
Thank you so much! I used my head torch and kept the light on it while recording and photographing, a flash would do a better job to make sure the shutter were fast enough but don't have any, still think it turned out quite well to be honest!

What flash did you use?
No flash, Lumonite headlamp, I think it was the 1200 lm version
Strålande!
Tack Ulf!
